Very unprofessional. Doors are always locked at the business and no one ever answers the phone. They dont return emails or requests to apply on Rent Solutions. Com or any other site....like Zillow. You might get hung up on, if you have a maintenance request. Jason McAfoos is the most unprofessional, rude person I have ever rented from. Rent Solutions apartments & houses are run down and out of date. Waste of time!!

It makes me sad to see these bad reviews because I recently just had a really good experience with Larry showing me an apartment. within a week he got me keys and I’ve never been happier, he met with us multiple times for showings and made sure everything was convenient for us. Larry was amazing, spot on, fast with response, perfect. Keep it up Larry you definitely won us over!!

Rented for a few years from these guys. It was bad. The absolute worst Ive seen.The entire fireplace damper fell out. After 6 months of winter and them ignoring me (I ended up taping plastic over the fireplace) they had people come in to inspect it who told us that it was a hazard and needed replacing immediately. Instead, they shoved insulation up the chimney and told us not to use the fireplace. They never fixed it.The deck was rotten and if you stepped in the wrong spot your foot went right through it. When that happened, they would come out and replace the one board, but the crossbeams were also rotten so the boards wouldnt screw in so they just laid on top haphazardly. The A/C died and no one answered the phone for 3 days and voicemail was full. Told them that there was a hornets nest in the siding and they told me to deal with it myself. The wood retaining walls in the yard were infested with termites, and they did not care.The shower surround was cracked when we moved in, and they told us they would fix it right away. Months later after much hounding they came in and out up a new surround but left a 1.5 gap at the bottom that they tried to fill with caulking. Obviously that didnt work. Every time they fixed something, they did an awful job and usually broke something else.Literally the worst rental management company Ive ever heard of, let alone used.

This company has been reported to the BBB and I wish anyone else that has had an awful experience with Jason to do the same. Jason is known to just take your money and not speak another word to you in return. Personal experience plus two well known friends also had this awful experience. Don’t let you be next. 08-24-20.

Jason is a disgusting human.. The way he talks to tenants, there should be disciplinary action taken. He is very unprofessional, aggressive, and verbally abusive. I would give 0 stars if I could. Rent solutions also will not do anything, even when the house they rent you is literally falling apart and not safe to live in. Not sure how they get their places to pass inspection.

My husband and I had an awesome experience! We were so stressed out finding a place. We moved across country to be near family. We had only one week to find a place. Jason promptly emailed us back the same day and 4 hours later we were signing the lease. The house was spotless! We were also able to live in the same town as my parents. We met with Amanda going over our lease. Amanda has also promptly returned my phone call. The rent is well affordable. I would recommend them.Mike and Lana Minnala

If you are an owner, do NOT do business with this company. At the very first meeting with had with Jason, we should have known better because all he wrote down was the percentage he would make. Since then the renters are continually 3 months behind and he has done NOTHING about it. Here we are - currently owed thousands of dollars, our bills are being affected, and the company is useless and not helping. They cant even answer the phone or return phone calls. Do yourselves a favor and dont use this company.

If there were negative stars that is what I would give. At first, over a year ago, I rented and signed a 1 year lease. All seemed fine and I was told anything needed, just call. Well... what a joke. The floors were very soft in many areas, which I reported regularly and it was never addressed, except for contractor to come out and say that they needed to be completely replaced and he was going to submit a bid. Well, that was the last I heard about that issue, no-one ever came back. The landlord seemed out of it most times. Winter came and the heater was not heating the house, nothing blowing out, I reported and reported this. Maintenance came out, looked at it and said there was nothing he could see to do to fix it. Thus, I had to run the heater all the time along with 3 space heaters and the house was still freezing. (making my budget billing end bill add up to over $800)Then there was the leak in the bathroom by the tub/shower, water was seeping UP through the tiles. They finally came and fixed that issue, at the same time I told them about the water in the bathroom sink not ever turning all the way off, their solution was that I could just turn off the water at the valve under the sink????? I also told them that in the basement you could see that there is a leak somewhere under the kitchen as the boards were wet and rotting away. NO_ONE ever even went to look at that. in April a huge tree fell across the back yard, which to this day is still there, I was promised over and over it would be cut up and taken away, but currently the owner/mang had no money to do so. I was unable to ever use the back yard again as it is now a jungle. Add to this the constant bug issues, stink bugs and spiders, he did not want to send anyone to spray.So... lease is up, I put in my 30 day notice to vacate and yes I always paid my rent on time, I had to bring my own fridge and stove with me to the house. I called and offered, if they wanted, I could leave those items for them, or I could take. He said (Jason) that was great, please do. I offered to clean them. He says, no, dont worry about that, I wouldnt ask you to do that as you are giving me appliances I dont have. The week of my move, I called and asked if he wanted the washer/dryer as well since they were not going to fit in my new place. If not, I would put in storage until they sold. he was again, sure.Day of move out, he is showing the property to another lady, sees me cleaning. Tells me to leave key in the mail box. I called to ensure he got the key the next day and to see when my deposit would come. Am told within 1-2 weeks. I called today to check on that, he now tells me I left the house filthy and did not clean the stove or fridge- mind you all the trash was out of those as he asked. When I reminded him of the agreement, he argues with me telling me those were his appliances, not mine. I have a copy of the lease which states he did not provide those items. He then says fine, you can have those but you are not getting your deposit b/c the house was filthy. Never mind that I spent over 4 hours cleaning this place for a final clean- the floors were swept, dusted above all doors and windows, even dusted cob-webs off walls and what were behind pictures, scrubbed kitchen counter, sink and bathroom. I again remind him he was there and walked through on the last day, he already said I WAS getting my deposit. As it stands now, I will not get my deposit back.lesson- do not rent from here. They come off all nice and when it comes to actually fixing anything, it does not happen. Then they will lie and keep your deposit at the end.

I could never get Jason on the phone and after I finally talking too him he hung up on me I called back and he basically was making fun of everything I saying and also had no respect or professional at all very rude and a waste of time very poor customer service skills wouldn’t spend a penny with this company

I dont know where the stuff came from about monthly walk through and what-have-you, but Ive been in my place 8months and never had any problems....they are awesome and even flexible and have worked with is when needed! I thought both Jason and Gary to be great and same with office staff! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the shoddy work inside but that was the company before them that had left it that way...they did best they could with what they had to work with and we love it!

More inconsistent than I have ever seen clearly they are a management group per say but I’ve been trying to figure out how the owners are willing to accept section 8 and pets but in every rental info he post no section 8 no pets 🧐🧐🧐 and if you call he don’t even entertain the idea that you spoke with the property owner and they say they accept it as I have ran across on more than one occasion....like the information isn’t public records 🙄🙄🙄 I just think the whole business is awfully fishy owners and tenants be very careful with these sneaky individuals.

We went through them for our rental house in Alton. They were awesome. They got us in contact with the manager who showed us the place, then walked us through the paperwork and got us that place. Weve been here almost 2 happy years.

Poor excuse, been trying to do a walk threw on a Property since the beginning of January with Jason. Was told over the weeked to call his line and see where he at & if he was available 😒😒I suggested times and was told yeah only if im available, ohhh kayyy then. I will take my money and business elsewhere. Funny thing he slowbecause he called me today about an online inquiry i did last week and he wasnt bright enough to put the numbers together 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Have had a very good experience with this company and his workers/family. Will do the best for you, very understanding and to the point. Need something they are there! So far weve had 3 years and it has been comfortable. Something to look into if your interested :-)

The house we rent is okay, not perfect, but definitely in a good price range and it had been made rent ready....I do appreciate their working with us when we got behind due to health issues, and we have not had any real complaints yet about them. Just pay your bills, stay in contact with them if you have a problem, and they will help you help yourself.

I cant speak on behalf of the Rent Solutions staff at Tampa, however this review is for the East Alton office. To begin I am a property owner who hired Rent Solutions to manage my property. Jason and his team at this office have done a great job managing my property! I have read some of these reviews, most of them appear from potential tenants. I always believe there are two sides to every story, but some of these less than thorough, defamatory, one line reviews towards Jason and his staff hold no credibility in my opinion.When repair issues arise with the property, Rent Solutions made the repairs in a timely manner and used a repair technician that was affordable. When you contact the main phone number, there is a prompt that states if there is an emergent repair that is needed, then select that prompt. Only you as the tenant, knows if the problem is urgent.Make no mistake, as a property owner I do my best to look out for the best interests of my tenants, I have a great tenant at my property right now, as a result I gave my tenant my own personal cell and if an issue is not getting resolved, he calls me and I ensure it gets resolved, but again Jason and his team have resolved any issues.I am glad he screens and scrutinizes tenants to the level he does. As a property owner, I choose not to rent to anyone with a felony conviction. Jason and his team ensure that he screens tenants for that particular factor. I believe your credit score, credit history and previous rental history is a key factor in whether or not you get to sign the lease agreementI thoroughly believe Jason considers the totality of all factors before he makes a decision whether or not a tenant signs the lease. Jason has a business to run, and a job to do for the property owners that he represents and compassion should not be considered in a business decision, it is strictly business.In conclusion, thank you Jason and the team you have taking care of my property. Rented from them for over a year and left the property in perfect shape according to their maintenance manager. Now they have decided we dont get our security deposit back because they never mailed us any sewer bills and just now have realized it. Horrible.

These are the worst kind of people to rent from... Ive had problems since moved in youd think theyd try and fix things so people would want to continue to do business with them...I wouldnt recommend an animal to stay in this place its ridiculous .. Yes theyll kindly take your money but they will not fix anything ...not in a timely manner ...no one answers the phone things have been broke since March and now they want fix it because I wit held my rent for the month of July Im sick of it!!!! Id never do business with these people again these people are the true definition of slum lords!!!!!

It saddens me as tenants we are being treated very poorly. Three weeks ago a very hard rain came & our ceiling got messed up really bad. My husband had to call off work to wait on the maintenance man to come. When the maintenance did show, he came in, looked at the ceiling & told my husband that he would be back in the morning. My husband had to call off work again to wait around for the maintenance man who never showed up. From that day forth our ceiling in the back bedroom is still not fixed. My husband has called & left voicemails several times & no one has got back to him about it. No one has shown up to fix the problem. It has been three weeks, THREE WEEKS!!!! We cant even sleep in our room because its very cold in there because of the ceiling not being fixed. My family shouldnt have to live like this & we pay our rent on time & faithfully!!! This is only one of the many problems that is going on in the residence. Someone needs to come fix the problem because its freezing in that back bedroom!!!

This is a disgusting company. I am a single mom who just went through a divorce and had to file bankruptcy. I met a very disgusting person associated with these people. My credit before my divorce was 760 to have a lady treat me like I am second class, is unacceptable. She wasted my valuable time only to lie to my face. I recommend no one use their services. Bigger corporation like this look at people like a number please if you have rental property try renting your self and be compassionate. Please do not use this company.

At first they was good, they came when needed but after a year they went down hill this is my 2nd year with them and it is pulling teeth to get them to answer the phone or get a call back an after on the phone it takes even longer to get them out here. Had a sewer back up problem with the city and it all came in my basement they took a week to come clean it up my son lost everything and they said it was on to stay in the home full of sewer the week they was to clean it. No thanks, now it is taking then for even to fix my hot water heater that keeps filling up n draining so my water bill is 300$ + ... I called the land lord and they had no idea I was haveing problems bc rent solutions never called them.I have no idea what happen but then hit rock bottom DO NOT rent from them!!!!

They company is good but theres a realator kelly squirrels whos avoiding me because i stay in the property 309 spring st in alton its a depulex and the electric lines are crossed and mad my bill jump from 300 to 1700 and i keep trying to contact her and she ignoring me so i would never refers this company

Jason showed up late and wasted to our appointment and could barely form sentences. Reeked of booze. He also had no memory of our conversation the day before - where we established basic facts about what we were looking for - I suspect because he was at a bar, wasted. He also tried to tell me if you sign a 12 month lease and break it that you have to pay all 12 months. Laughable except for the fact I know he drove his car after the appt. Shocking he has stayed in business. Check Madison County court records if you have a couple hours to kill.

Terrible.just terrible.just started renting a house in woodriver. We didnt realize how disgusting the house was till we moved in. The poeple who rented before us were extremely heavy smokers. They did ot clean this place at all.all they did was slap a few coats of cheap paint on the walls.we had to pay ourselves to get the carpets cleaned, and spend 2 weeks deep cleaning and wiping down the walls!!now there is mold growing in the bathroom, snakr hole all over the back yard so now my kids cant play in it, and none of the windows work and are broken.ive tried several times to get then to fix it and they wont. We are a new young family trying to get a new start and they took complete advantage. Now we are stuck with thos place for a year.

Edit: They are getting better at it each month.I use rent solutions as my property manager for my multi family unit in Alton. I dont know what issues they have( either lack of resources or whatever) but they never seem to respond to emails or phone calls. Promises to call back are never kept. Rents are not paid on-time. Every time some excuses or reasons. I also have 1 tenant who hasnt paid for 6 months but they have done nothing about it ( again some excuses or reasons). I dont understand how they survive and how they do business. I guess the reason is no competition in this area. I dont have a choice! I simply have to sell the property to a local I guess. The only highlight about this company is Gary who is an awesome maintenance manager always responsive always keeps upto his word and does his job pretty well.

I met with Jason today and he was late, rude, arrogant, and condescending. My family and I were more than qualified, yet he spoke down to us as if he was put out by having to show the place. I called later to ask questions and address concerns I had regarding the property, which he became very defensive and spoke over me, not listening to any question or comment I made. It was very frustrating as he formed his own conclusions based on his lack of listening (speaking over me loudly), making outlandish assumptions, and in a very condescending tone. After telling him I liked the house, but was not happy with him as the landlord his lack of professionalism, he hung up on me and then proceeded to harass me through the evening on phone and text messaging making crude, harassing, and childish comments. I finally had to threaten to call the police and press charges for harassment if he did not leave me alone. This guy is scary! Seriously!As for the business itself, I was told they do walk throughs in your rental home every couple of months and privacy is not something they consider to be a right for the renter as they work for the owners. So, if you are an owner, great. If you are a renter, dont expect them to be looking out for you, just for your check in the mail.Disappointed with their business practices and Jason, the owner, is by far most unprofessional and a seriously creepy individual.

I have tried reaching out to this company 6 times, calling, leaving voicemails, and even emailed the manager. Not once has anyone ever tried to contact me back. Obviously they dont want their properties rented out. I am a manager of customer service and would never suggest anyone to connect them... Unless you like being homeless.

This company is not a very compassionate company.due to our unfortunate circumstance at the time it was very urgent that we was in need of a 3 bedroom though our credit isnt the best we was totally honest with their consultant..the consultant is very misleading..the property we were interested in is still empty and has been since before Christmas when we first inquired about it unfortunately we still dont have anything in our urgent situation though we have figured somethingelse out no thanks to this company..this company has no intention of renting anything as long as they can continue to collect from application fees..if I could hit a no star they wouldnt have even received a one star..
