I’ve trained at a lot of places. This is by far one of the best places I’ve trained. The level of instruction here is of the highest caliber. From beginner to advanced - this is a place for everyone. Got hooked after checking them out. Truly world class coaches that take time to really explain the concepts they teach, and its mechanics. Everything they show has a reason and builds onto something else, setting you up for a great foundation.

I joined as a complete beginner to martial arts and when starting anything new, there is an adjustment period but its been a great learning experience so far. I like the idea that this is a new school where class sizes are smaller and more attention can be given to each student and thats what youll get at 10th Planet Pasadena.The two head instructors are different yet both very effective teachers. Professor Cruz keeps class light-hearted and fun while being very focused on teaching all the latest 10th Planet System techniques. Professor Ramey focuses on the often misunderstood leg-lock techniques and makes sure you know the small details. The senior students and all the instructors and coaches here are very friendly and it feels like a family environment.I definitely dont regret joining. See you in class soon!

Eric and Eric are amazing teachers and coaches. They both still compete and are completely versed on the latest and most cutting edge techniques and their training is magic. They also focus on your conditioning so you will get an excellent workout as well. Pasadena is so fortunate to have this treasure of a jiu jitsu academy. I watched the instructor here, Erik Cruz , seriously injure a student after the bloke had tapped out. A professor at a local university, not much of an athlete, rolled with Erik at the end of class at 10th Planet on Santa Monica Blvd. Erik put the professor in a leg lock and the professor screamed tap. I was rolling but I looked over to see what was going on. I reckoned Erik would release the submission but he kept on. He twisted the professors knee from the bottom and it popped really loud. The professor screamed again so loud the entire class had to stop what they were doing. After Eddie Bravo intervened, Erik backed off and the professor hopped out of the place on one leg. The professor was annoying but he didnt deserve that.
