Came and gave a estimate in a reasonable amount of time....within 2 weeks were here giving my old Burr Oak a much needed haircut! The old girl looks pretty good now. The fellas moved my tent and lawn furniture which I forgot to do sorry about that and they also moved and put back my neighbors patio set too! Im very happy with the work they did and with they way they cleaned up the debris! Will definitely use Smittys again!

When the service rep came out to give me a quote I knew this was the right company for my tree trimming. I received my quote within the hour of inspection with color photos showing what was being done. The price was reasonable. After accepting the proposal I was scheduled to have the work completed within the week. The team of 6 or more showed up on time, they were respectful and did not hesitate to get started. They had all the right equipment.The work was completed timely and there was no mess to clean up after they left. I was very satisfied with the service and would recommend this company.

Outstanding job. I was removing most of the trees from my yard & trimming what I was keeping & this group was done was quicker then i thought possible. They also worked with me what it came to removing my fence, and agreed to come back later in the week to remove the stumps that the fence was blocking. Very easy to work with, i would recommend to anyone.

Last summer, Smittys was quick in responding and scheduling to remove half of a tree left in my hard after a tornado. This summer I had them come out to trim and clean up an overgrown tree. I have a pear tree that is a approximately 70 years old. Some of the branches were dying off I contacted Smitty’s tree service to check it out.Their arborist Sandy Stillwell treated the tree for two seasons bringing back to healthy condition. More recently I contracted with Smitty’s to trim said pear tree. They came in with the proper equipment and did a excellent job. Trimming and cleaning up the area.

Tree removal can be one of those situations where you wonder if you made the right decision. Especially if it is enormous in size like the one in our back yard.The entire process, from start to finish was an amazing well coordinated operation. Staff was extremely competent and efficient. The equipment was truly state of the art, the robotic clamp and saw amazed all that watch for two days.Now I know why I see those shiny red Smitty’s Tree trucks throughout the neighborhood.

Very professional tree removal. The man who removed the tree did everything from a remote controlled device and never had to get into the tree.A week later the tree was stumped. They did a great job and I would recommend they to anyone!

Your technician did a great job. He took care not to disturb the rose bushes around the stump. He used fencing to capture chunks of stump from being tossed around the yard and porch. And he raked ands smoothed out all debris around both stumps. Thanks.

We suffered terrible devastation when Smitty’s “trimmed” all the branches below 25’ from our beautiful maple tree, already large when we arrived 45 years ago. Now we have no shade on our deck, no green branches visible from inside our family room’s sliding door. Nothing. Just a trunk on which branches appear above our second floor! All they said was: “You signed a contract for this. Sorry we can’t put the branches back. No rebates!”Don’t hire Smitty’s unless you ask them about EVERY WORD in the contract. Even then, hire someone better.

We have used Smittys Tree Service multiple times for tree trimming, this last time was last month after a storm caused tree limbs to fall, and we had part of a neighbors dead tree come down in our back yard. Way too much for us to handle ourselves. The Estimator came out the same day I called, and the work was done the following day. They also removed some dead limbs from 2 of our trees. The work was done quickly, efficiently and thoroughly. I love to watch the crew work, they are Pros!!! I highly recommend Smittys .

Had a very large oak tree come down during a storm. I initially contacted Smittys to have that tree removed. During the estimate process I realized I wanted other trees in my yard trimmed up. Smittys came out and took care of the tree removal and trimmed up about 8 very large trees. I was satisfied with the price and the service is top notch.

I have been using Smitty Tree Service for over 20 years to maintain the health of my trees. They annually inject trees to protect them from parasites and as a result they thrive and have continued to have healthy growth. The growth has required that I’ve had to call on them to trim the two larger trees on two different occasions. They have always been prompt, very efficient and have done a beautiful job of trimming and cleaning up. Wouldn’t think of relying on any other company to care for my trees.

Four guys came out to trim large branches from a tree. The foreman reviewed the work with me before starting. The work was completed as stated. Cleanup was good. They even cut a few of the branches into smaller sizes for me a Im planning to use in a walkway. Overall the work was exceptional and done as planned. No incidents occurred.

Top of tree was dying and we didnt want the whole tree cut down. Smittys came out and did a great job trimming it and cutting down all the dead branches. They also cleaned up the yard and used the wood chipper to get rid of the wood, and we still have our tree!

My tree needed a prong cut down. Workers arrived on time, completed work in less than 2 hours, cleaned up area. They were courteous and answered all my questions. Smitty’s did a fantastic job trimming extremely tall silver maples and evergreen’s whose branches were going over my house. Had one silver maple with a crazy long branch that also went over my house. Smitty’s came out with the right gear and a crew to trim it all up. They did a great job with clean up, left a few logs for my fire pit, and hauled off all the rest. I was happy with the work and the price. I already recommended them to people and my neighbor used their services a couple weeks later. I will definitely use them again.

I have used Smitty’s Tree several times. They are professional, timely and clean! My trees were trimmed beautifully and the deep root treatment saved my Northern Pines.

Terrible service all around by Sandy and Bernadine. Prices are incredible high ($700 for 5 hostas and some rocks on 5ft square if that!) and they don’t stand by their product. Tree removal ridiculously priced as well. Better off with John’s Tree Service if you’re in their service area. One of the hostas looked terrible when it was planted last year and Sandy told us to wait and if it didn’t look better she’d replace it this year. Now it looks awful and guess what?? They won’t replace it because it’s past the “warranty.” And we’ve used them for decades! I’m sure they’ll respond to this review with some line about how they can’t do it for everyone and the plant looked fine 3 months ago (it didn’t) so not their problem now…where’s the customer service in that? Bernadine told us “you gotta do what you gotta do,” so save your time and money and take your business elsewhere.UPDATE: see classic business response below. They inspected the tree first, to see if it could be saved. I got a rapid estimate, and the tree was cut down and removed a week ahead of schedule. The only way you could tell they were there was the missing tree (which I miss terribly). It was about the mid range estimate I received. I am totally satisfied!

The estimator came out with short notice to me. I would call Smittys directly instead of using their answering service because I believe that is where the disconnect was. The price was much better than I anticipated. The trees I had removed had exterior wires running through them but the technicians made it work. Very quick, very good clean up and very polite. The stump grinding is scheduled for a different day after the removal which I was not aware of until the technicians informed me. Overall good experience. I have since referred a friend for tree removal.

They were professional and knew exactly what I wanted done and even asked me if I was satisfied or would I like more branches trimmed. On July 15th Smittys crew arrived 7 am and began trimming my2 trees. After 2 hours they were done. I checked and approved thethere work. Job well done. 4 days latter my neighbor called myattention to a partially cut limb about 8 feet long hanging above hisdrive. I called Smittys and was told someone would come out andcheck it out. A Week later someone named Chaz called and said hecame and found nothing they did they were responsible for.Long story short after trying to contact Chaz, no luck, I call someone elseto remove the the limb for $30. In case anyones interested I keptthe limb for inspection. Last time I deal with SMITTYS.*After thinking about it, my review was not fair to the crew that did an excellent job and should have received 5 stars. My disconnect was strictly with customer service.

We are happy to recommend Smittys highly. We had a very tall tree in a very awkward spot, near our property line with branches over our neighbors swimming pool. We were amazed at the skill the workers used in getting the entire tree down without any branches falling on the neighbors side of the fence. The men were very skillful and the equipment was very good. They cleaned up the yard beautifully. They came back the next week and did the stump removal. We were very satisfied.

I had a large tree that had to come out. I was very concerned that it was done without damaging any fencing or buildings. Smittys addressed all my concerns. They came out with a machine that was a crane/lift that grabbed the large limbs with a mechanical jaw, cut it with a saw, and lifted it over the fence/garage and put it right into a chipper. They came out the following week to grind out the stump. There was absolutely no damage. The guys were polite and professional; and cleaned up my yard. The cost was competitive, and I loved how safe everything was.The only thing that could use improvement is scheduling. They dont schedule a date for the estimate- they just come out. They do schedule a date for the removal and stump grinding, but you are not given a time window. I was told to call first thing in the morning on the day of service, and they could give me a window then, which they did. I would definitely hire them again. They do fantastic work, all my questions were answered, and the estimate for service was clear.

No one wants to pay to have a tree removed, but this tree was beyond dead. I have a fair and quick estimate. On date set, Comed was on time to disconnect power, arranged through Smittys, workers came and removed the tree, came back and removed the big stumps, and comed had power back on by 4pm. So glad I used this company, no worries through the whole process, highly recommend and will use them again if needed.

They were contracted by my neighbor. They tore up my lawn, moved plants and other items and didnt put them back, blew off neighbors part of driveway onto ours and eat it, vehicle was left with lots of blown debris on it. If they do a job for a neighbor, they dont take care of the other neighbors property or vehicle s. Very shotty in my mind.

We needed to get a neighbors overhanging tree trimmed. My wife and I got 3 quotes from 3 companies, all were very similar in price. We decided to go with Smittys because of the professional estimator (Sandy) who came out to give us a quote. She took the time answer all of our questions and was most knowledgeable.

Smittys quickly responded to our call about a tree branch that had broken during one of our recent storms. They were out the next day to view the damage and to give us an estimate. We set up an appointment for the branch removal and additional tree trimming. Despite the snowy weather, they were there on time and did all that we asked, making sure to clean up all the branches and twigs (in the snow!). Finally, they checked with us to make sure we were pleased.

I had a tree that split that came down causing a domino affect on three other very old trees. Unfortunately the trees were damaged beyond salvage. They came out quickly and removed the trees. We had our neighbors tree cut back to the property line. Smitty’s was very professional and meticulous with the work. They cleaned as they were cutting. I would say the only downside was having to wait for our appointment because there was a bad storm about a week or so before our appointment and we got pushed back on the schedule, but that’s Mother Nature and no fault of theirs. I would definitely use Smitty’s again and recommend them.

Smittys removed three branches from my tree without permission or notification. This was done unnecessarily so they could use a large vehicle to push a chipper several yards closer to their work area on a neighboring property. The lowest branch they removed was about 12 feet above the ground. Previous work crews at this site have raised the branches with poles to allow passage or equipment with a smaller vehicle. Material to be chipped was not difficult to move the few yards further. Note in the photo that two branches were cut and one was torn off.

Workers arrived at time promised. They checked with us to make sure service we required was what they had on work order. Proceeded to trim our trees per our directions. when they were through they asked for our opinion about work being to our satisfaction. It was. so we would recommend them highly. We had a massive cottonwood removed using the beast. Workers arrived approx 7:30 am & tree was down by noon. Office staff as well as on site workers were a pleasure to work with. Everything perfectly cleaned up and limbs & trunk were removed the next day. Tree was stumped and all debris cleaned up. Chips were left with us. I would highly recommend Smittys!
