As much as I like the staff members (especially the housekeeping staff), this place is a rip off. For how much the memberships are, how can so many pieces of equipment be constantly broken? There has been a stair stepper and a climber that have been out of service since I joined this gym LAST SUMMER, leaving only one stair stepper in the gym. Half of the treadmills have loose bands which are so dangerous-When you take a step, occasionally the track will slip; what happens when someone falls? Most of the ellipticals are in awful shape-Theyre missing buttons or you cannot adjust anything. There is an assisted rack that has been out of service for at least three weeks, and they only have one other which is always in use. Definitely rethinking my membership.

I have tried since June for a return call from management, to date without luck. This includes also email outreach during their shutdown period, that was not responded too. While closed, and maybe not paying attention at that period, a response when opened would have been nice. Never notified that the venue was open, just charged. Still not rebated for the charge of full membership when closed in March. Now a revised release is required to work out, while other organizations take responsibility and dont change the contract mid term without a compensation, a standard in legal changes in agreements mid term. But surely could have addressed all of this in a more professional less public way if the consistent requests for a reply were honored.

The staff has to be the best in the valley. I’m retired and actually look forward to going to the gym as often as possible. The front desk staff is most congenial with a smile that just makes every morning a bright day. Atmosphere is friendly with people that seem to care about one another. That said there are a very few people that cause issues and are in need of reminders on proper etiquette in the gym (clean equipment) and locker room (return used towels and shower before going into the hot tub and especially after spending time in the steam room). Remember your mother isn’t here to pick up after you.The facilities and staff are top notch. The smiles are contagious.Hope to see you soon

The pools are faithfully maintained and always clean. The water aerobic classes provide a good work out and are fun.Once the weather is warmer, it would be ideal to enter the gym at the front desk, swim and leave the pool area through the side door to the side parking lot. That would enable us to drip dry in a cover up and dry outside on our way to our cars. This would avoid shower and locker room use.Reservations on line could be made for class attendance.

It is amazing that ownership took time to respond with a multi paragraph response yet still fails to respond to the customer. To clarify, your marketing of your reopening lacked any ability for customers to respond. Second , by not allowing me to work out without signing a revised liability statement, which is absurdly owner protective, is failing to allow our original contract to continue. Unless there is language in your first agreement that allows such a modification this is a change of terms of the agreement. Simple business law would create a solid argument that this is a breached agreement. In regards to the liability, not all businesses have moved to a new release. While I agree there is a need to revise , releasing any liability from ownership to have a commercially reasonable maintenance and cleaning is not acceptable.Lastly to be clear I am representing facts. Fact is June 26 I called, July 1st I was on property asking for a response, on July 7 the 9th and today I called. 14 days to respond, even 10 from July 1 is absurd. I gave a courtesy and told the front desk that I understand that they are busy. I stated how about I wait til the 7th to give them time to respond. My review of the lack of professionalism is relative. If you wish to continue a public debate I am willing to elevate. You have my number. I will wait until Monday, since I assume this is your response recommendation. Please note that I have been clear on my issue to each person I engaged. Only did today they refer to the director. While all interactions, by both your staff and me, has been courteous, I am not sure what they did to route my concern.

If you want to pay $80/month for a gym with old rusty equipment, this is the place for you! The only positive thing about being a member is the pool, but be careful because there are paint chips falling from the ceiling. When you decide to cancel, dont expect that to go smoothly for you either. The only times you are allowed to cancel is Monday to Friday 8-5, because why wouldnt you want to use your entire lunch break or miss out on pay at work to cancel your gym membership, if the correct staff are even there to help. There are a few great front desk associates and personal trainers, but as far as a majority of the staff, especially management, dont expect to be greeted by any sort of friendly face. Even when you find a personal trainer you enjoy, dont expect them to be around long. The gym seems to be a fast revolving door for staff.

I really enjoy steel fitness premier. It is expensive, but for the size of the pool and the indoor track plus everything else, it’s worth it to me. I’ve been a member of planet fitness and max fitness and this just offers a whole lot more. The locker room is spacious and the showers are nice. Cleaning staff is so sweet, always. I’ve taken a few classes and they were good, too. I took a tour of a fitness country club in Allentown and it was almost 100/month, and not nearly as friendly, the pool was smaller and everything cost extra to do. I have to say other than it costing a lot ( which is worth it when I use the hot tub every day) I have zero complaints.

Steel Fitness was the perfect solution with my favorite class overall being the guided meditation with Jen Cortright every other Saturday.Since the pandemic has occurred Steel Fitness has allowed me to stay on top of my workouts with virtual workout classes. Missi is my favorite instructor! Her classes are challenging and force me to push myself. I can’t wait for them to have a recorded video platform as even with the couple of videos Missi did via Facebook live I noticed I was able to see a huge improvement in my performance by the second or third time I repeated the video.

Being a plus-sized woman, I’ve always avoided gyms and “gym people.” But it became clear that my recumbent bike in my rec room wasn’t helping me get to where I wanted to be health-wise. I joined Steel Fitness and didn’t lose weight at first because I didn’t change my eating habits. I planned on exclusively using the pool but found myself on the “fit floor” using the treadmills, weights, and recumbent bikes. After a plantar fasciitis flare up, my physical therapist told me to try the pool instead. Despite the extra effort of locking up my belongings and changing into a swimsuit, I discovered all things swimming worked for me. I’ve even taken a couple of aqua aerobics classes, which are fantastic. I’ve met some lovely people in the pools (most people in other parts of the gym have headphones on so we don’t really talk) and more importantly, I’m getting a great workout. Combined with healthy eating, my hard work is paying off. Also, most of the staff at Steel Fitness is great! They are friendly, helpful, and encouraging. The facility is clean, safe, and there’s even a book nook where members exchange books. I’m so glad I joined Steel Fitness!

This is probably the best gym in the area. The whole facility it clean and always nice. The weights are in amazing shape. Ignore the post about not having a bench press. That person clearly does not lift. There are multiply power racks and benches that can be used for squats, beach presses, etc. The machines are in great shape. This is also one of the few places that offers bumper plates for Olympic style lifts as well. The pool is very well maintained. I use that for swimming laps throughout the week. As mentioned earlier, the locker rooms are always clean and secure. The cost is up there around $70 a month. They do offer discounts. For myself and my wife this is a bargain. We take advantage of the various classes offered throughout the week. (Cycle, Yoga, High Intensity Training) Stop out and see for yourself.

I am extremely disappointed with the current state of Steel Fitness Premier. The majority of the equipment is rusty and outdated. I see that the owner has responded to multiple reviews that they are waiting for the landlord to fix the HVAC system before putting new equipment in, but these responses started 3-4 months ago. Also... Can we not be guaranteed a shower with an actual shower curtain? I understand the need to clean the curtains, but are you not capable of cleaning half of them at a time? Or cleaning them outside of open hours? Do we not pay enough for our memberships to fund an extra set of shower curtains so that every shower can have a curtain while the other set is being washed? Because our money obviously isnt going toward equipment upkeep or purchase. The showers are very dirty and already small enough. The water squirts all over the place from the shower head, so a curtain is an absolute necessity, otherwise the towel hung on the only hook available gets soaking wet. These issues desperately need attention, especially the equipment on the fitness floor.

Steel Fitness is a joke. Tom, the owner, should win an award for laziest owner in the universe. He sits around and enjoys all of his inheritance money that allows him to own the club in the first place. The guy shows zero thought, effort, or care for his business. He likely has a crush for Erin, which is the only reason she has the job in the first place. Chris Brown the singer is more qualified to manage that place than Chris Brown the worker. He is severely out of shape, with no personality and enjoys sitting in the office 24/7 to earn his paycheck. If you are considering this laughing stock of a gym, DO NOT GO. Listen to my advice before Tom deletes this. It would be the most work he has done in years . I have heard the manager and staff bad talk members and even be extremely rude to senior citizens and children. My fellow friends.... you have been WARNED.

I do love working out at Steel Fitness, but there are a few problems which can be expected in such a large facility. My biggest disappointment is the lack of promotional sales for Personal Training. The club is always running a promotion on massage, membership, whatever but not on personal training! When I asked why this was the case I was told that personal training sales are good so no promotions are needed. What about what your customers want? SF use to have flash sales and holiday promotions for personal training but no more. That is my biggest complaint - nothing special for the tried and true customers.

Ive read alot of reviews saying the gym has rusted outdated equipment and Im not sure what theyre talking about. I have noticed built up dust around in nooks and crannies but nothing crazy. Ive never had an issue with the equipment. They did just replace several of the weightlifting machines. As far as the Cardio machines are concerned whenever they are out of service I think the gym has them back up and running within a reasonable amount of time. They have more than enough Cardio equipment that if something is down you have a multitude of options to pick from. The showers could be better but most places have the same issues Ive gotten foot fungus multiple times from not wearing flip flops of some kind so they are a must in my opinion. Not sure that issue is controllable just a heads up. Ive been going to this gym for years and I absolutely love it. The price is high and for alot of people its a turn off, I understand that but with everything they offer I think steel fitness is worth giving it a chance if workout out is something your passionate about. The variety of classes, equipment, and space is something rare for the area. I dont know many of the staff members, I keep my earbuds in get my stuff done and get out but one of the cleaning staff guys is always very nice and helpful and the personal trainers Nichole and Obe stand out as being very approachable, helpful and extremely nice. So to summarize I think most of the reviews are alittle blown out of proportion does steel fitness have issues? Yes. Do those issues impede on a persons ability of having a great workout? Not at all. Is the price worth it? Its totally subjective If youre just someone who wants to do alittle bit of working out you may be better off at a cheaper gym lit planet fitness or something but having the pools they do, the steam room, hot tub, and sauna in each genders lockeroom (which is a probably a plus for women not looking to have to deal with men in that environment.) I think there is an argument to be made to justify a steep price. I have and will continue to reccomend and support this gym.

I was a member of this gym for years. I felt there were some very, very talented trainers on staff, but the owner, Fester, is a total tool bordering on bullying. When I honestly shared that I felt the gym monthly membership is overpriced and objected to the abundance of pricey upcharges for a lot of classes on what I believed to be an anonymous comment request, Fester emailed me and invited me to find another gym. I didn’t leave then, but ultimately did, creating a gym in my home and dedicating my efforts to the fantastic Peloton app and working up to torching about 10,000 workout kcal/month because I get so much more from the Peloton app than I ever did at SFP. It is my understanding that the very talented trainers I knew to be on staff have all left this gym for other endeavors.

I have been a member of Steel Fitness twice - once in 2012 and last year. I loved the access to the pool, and have a favorite kind of treadmill - four of them were on the floor from my original membership back in 2012. Things are not in the shape they were in in 2012.As for customer service -- the process shouldnt be how to make things more inconvenient. I tried to meet with a members services person three times in my last month at the gym in early spring to either put a hold or cancel my membership and was told she wasnt there after 5 on weekdays (how many people can get to the gym between 9-5 on weekdays?), that Steel Fitness was a person down in that department at the time, and that I should come back. This is after daytime phone calls to try and handle everything and being told I need to do it in person. On the 4th try after confirming someone should be there, I left work early and no one was. I was so frustrated I essentially insisted the desk person give me the blank paperwork so I could physically sign the cancellation paperwork and then have someone follow up with me via phone because I wasnt going to come back again to do the same thing. It was the 1st day of the next month because I hadnt been able to connect with anyone after multiple attempts. I was followed up with, but what I was told doesnt jive with what is happening now. Months later I notice Im still being billed by Steel Fitness. I have since played phone tag with billing and left two requests that they email me a copy of my original contract and subsequent paperwork so I can review it with someone while on the phone with them. The requests for an email of the contract have not been honored. Yet, email offers and events from SF still hit my email. Email works one way apparently. I dont have time for phone tag during work hours. Or if they want to play phone tag- use an online appt scheduler to set appointments for phone calls with a real live available person? Its 2019. There should be better communication options, transparency regarding contracts, and just overall customer service. I understood things were leaner at SF my second time around, but the hassle involved in this has been ridiculous- at the time and now Im disputing charges on my credit card bill. This is my first negative google review ever. If I was retired or worked PT, I could stalk someone successfully during the day, but to have that expectation that customers leave work to access reasonable customer service is ridiculous.

I would not take the recent 5 star reviews by Christina or Quinn into consideration. The majority of the 5 star reviews are the employees creating accounts and taking pictures of the gym themselves. I have a friend who was approached by one of the staff members at Steel Fitness, they asked him if they could offer him compensation, in exchange for a 5 star review. How classy, a gym that charges a price tag of $80 a month (along with hidden charges and fees), engages in this pitiful practice for undeserved attention.

Ive gone here for two years now, I primarily go during the slow time of the weekdays (10am-1pm) so my experience could differ from those that go during the busiest hours. The atmosphere is great, theres a front desk in the weight room with knowledgeable personal trainers who are happy to assist you with showing the proper way to use a piece of equipment, or spot you when youre lifting a heavy weight. The cost of the membership really brings in the people that are serious about the purpose of a gym, never had a negative encounter with anybody there, machines and benches are rarely left sweaty. The only thing that bothers me would be the locks on the lockers can give you a hard time occasionally, not really a huge deal and they have lockers available to use your own lock.

Rude members. My extremely well behaved daughter has swim lessons here. Members scowl at us every time we are here. Because the family changing room is always taken, I took her in the locker room to change tonight. Someone must have complained because a staff member marched in (she hadnt been around when we entered) and informed us we would have to leave immediately. I asked why. She said because its an adult gym. Also, when my daughter has swim lessons, multiple (usually older) members deliberately act like they must use the entire pool, often interfering with the instructor. They must have the requirement that you must be rude and miserable to join. My daughter has never done one thing disruptive and I always get compliments from strangers about her. I could see if she were badly behaved but what is the problem with a well behaved child changing in the locker room?? No wonder these people scowl at us all the time. Jerks.

There are pools and all sorts of classes, a small indoor track, hot tubs, sauna, steam room and weights. BUT, if you are just looking for a gym with weights and aerobic equipment, this is not the best for the price. In fact, the weights and weight machines are rather mediocre with a somewhat limited range of equipment. Ive been in smaller gyms with broader range and higher quality. Be careful - the appeal of all the various aspects is soooo tempting, but I think most people find it wears off quick and they only use one or two of the offerings.

They make the contract hard to understand, so that they can charge you a few extra months before you figure out how to get out of it. No one at Steel Fitness has any knowledge of the billing process as it is delegated to a 3rd party billing company (National Acceptance Company). After following all the procedures and sending a Certified Letter to cancel, she still got charged. When I called NAC, I was told that the letter signifies cancelation in 30 days. Therefore she was charged for yet another month.I assume that this WAS all in the contract, but I feel like you should not have to consult your lawyer to review your contract for a gym membership. As far as the actual gym, she was less than pleased. Trainers classes were often late or no show. Some trainers did not seem professional. For example, my wife participated in a class where she was instructed to pick up a 45lb plate, by bending up and down at the waist. Anyone who has done weight lifting or has moved their own furniture knows you are not supposed to lift heavily with your back. Not surprisingly after this class my wife have severe back pain.

My experience here has more to do with the management than the facility itself. I nearly begged for a job to work at the front desk, only to be told that they hire females only to work upfront, while the males work collecting trash. I was never called back, or even aknowledged for coming to the interview. Its disappointing, even as a veteran I couldnt get hired to do childs work, let alone appreciated for the patience Ive had waiting for an interview by an inexperienced employer. You dont have to be sorry Tom , what you need is to care and look out for the men and women serving this ungrateful nation. Service members come FIRST in employment. Your employee Chelsey is a disgrace to my brothers and myself, that have worked like animals so she and yourself, can work in a stress free, air conditioned, non perilous job. You take good care of yourself and your money Tom.

Fantastic!! They put in new floors, redid the showers and added a bunch of new cardio. I think they have about 100 classes a week that are all pretty full. I used to go to the expensive studios for classes but here you get everything for one price. Also, the Chlid Minding is always well staffed and they have trainers on the floor at all times.

No gym should ever cost this much. It is insane. Who cares if the lockers are sooooo beautiful?.... you are coming in to work out! not to look at locker room decor.. and not to pay $$$$$$ to work out and lift weights.. People are getting robbed here. Save some money, join a gym that offers the same at half price. If you want to blow away $75-$100 per month, by all means, come here lol but I would rather spend that money on something else. No squat rack.. cmon... its 2016... I dig the pool though and the upstairs track was cool.

I love the facility! It has all of the things I like when I workout, from the three pools, lots of cardio and free weights. If I want to change up my workout I can take one of the many classes that Premier has to offer from yoga, spin, and hiit. I wouldnt go to anyother gym in the valley.

I like Steel fitness premier, cause it has everything on site: gym equipment, pool, different studios. What I dont like is dirty shower cabins and not flashing toilets in women locker.
