I had three appointments so far and saw both doctors. They created a plan for me to get my teeth exactly where I want them! The doctors are gentle and nice and the hygienists I saw were also super gentle and caring. I had a great experience with Dr Ferguson and JoAnn having my root canal today. They were gentle and took their time and also allowed me the time I needed to calm down when I got anxious.

Good staff and dental team. It has been a long time since I was in dentist chair, but this team makes your visit as pleasant as can be. All staff from the dentist to the hygienist to the front desk are very professional.I am by no means a fan of going to a dentist but Gentle Dental of Allentown is an organization that helps me overcome my anxieties.

This is one of the worst places that is visited.I visited this place for a deep cleaning and they took me $ 700 DOLLARS I said that the insurance did not cover but they did not guide me what the insurance did not cover and what it did cover and when I called my dental insurance they told me that the insurance did not I covered everyone but the problem is that they did not guide me which I had to pay out of my pocket 700 or for an incomplete cleaning. and then they call me to remind me of the appointment ,,,, they think I want to go back so they can steal more money and then they send me a letter like they stole my information a confusing letter I do not know if it reached everyone Those who are victims of this great place to be a professional have a long way to go. Will they tell me that they did not know if my insurance covered me or that it did not cover me? And not only that, then they send me an extra letter charging me $ 38 dollars which raised the dial to $ 48 dollars or my God you forget that to keep that place running they need or that place depends on the client ... he gives me the comments positives here is that they are close to them horrible the experiences I had in that place, what if they won the insurance and the patient congratulations

Very friendly staff. Dr Ferguson is the best.Very gentle and does excellent work.I trust her 100%. That means a lot. Especially with dental work. They work with you till you get exactly what you want.Everyone is helpful and very nice.

GENTLE ON MY GUMS BUT NOT MY CREDIT REPORT!!! Been going to Gentle Dental for over a year now. While Dr. Minetola is great at what he does, I have been sent to collections 2 times in the past 6 months. All while I was actively being treated. I have never left the office owing a balance and if a balance is created due to the insurance not covering some portion of the treatment then I would expect my GENTLE DENTAL to make every possible attempt to reach me and not send my account into collections. When I spoke to the office manager, she said that I needed to contact the collection agency that they use, myself!!! I would think that they would protect their patients a lot better than that!!! Unfortunately I have to replace a great dentist just to protect my credit!!!

Be cautious. They put a gaping hole under my tongue (the ER nurse literally had to stick her finger in it) and told me they “burnt” me and sent me on my way. I was numb but saw how much blood was coming out and they stopped the procedure a few minutes so when I got in the car I looked for myself..traumatizing and I still have trouble with how my tongue healed. Hopefully they got rid of that dentist because he really didn’t live up to their name of gentle by any means and obviously didn’t care about his patients not to tell them,

Friendly professional service

First, They refused to release my husband’s x-ray to another dentist, second, they do procedures without letting the patient know that they need to pay for it. Third, the secretary is the worst ever, she refused to explain to my husband anything, the last thing she did was to ask him to leave the clinic because he was asking her to please have the doctor to sign the release form. Everything for them is about money, not the patient’s wellbeing.

Excellent place to get work done if you need it. Ive had 2 root canals in my life, one here and one at another dentist. The difference between how they were done was pretty eye opening. Corners can be cut when it comes to choosing a cheap dentist. Would definitely recommend this place for the pleasant people and the great care you receive.

Everyones super nice and professional. For the past 7 years, my bite was off and I just sort of accepted that that was the way things would be from now on. Whenever I brought it up to my old dentist, he said that that was just the way a crown works. After coming here, I can now bite down properly again! Thanks especially to Judy who spent half an hour filing a temporary crown into shape just to make sure it would fit perfectly and be as comfortable as possible, as well as the dentists who performed a painless root canal and build-up!

Ive been here a few times for regular exams and cleanings and always had a good experience. Everyone is very friendly and exams and cleaning are quick and comfortable. Definitely living up to the name!

I had 2 teeth extracted for the first time in my life. I was so scared due to my anxiety. I went in and they worked on me right away. I’m happy with the overall services but I do wish the staff and the Dentist would not rush so much. Let the patent know what you’re doing step by step. This office also does NOT offer any sedatives which was a bummer. They only provide Novocain. I’m thankful regardless because I’m pain free after suffering so many months. Thank you Gentle Dental.

My first visit. I was so impressed with the whole operation from the checking in and out staff. The Hygienist was so kind and caring and so pleasant that I knew the Doctor Ferguson that I had an Appointment withSurely be as wonderful and caring as her employees. This place is AMAZING. Friendly staff, no waiting 30, 45 minutes just to get in the back room, professional, clean, and helpful. They didnt chastise me about my dental state and only offered solutions.I had 2 teeth pulled from here, and had asked my deaf grandmother to drive me. They asked if we would like the CC on in the waiting room so she could enjoy it as well. On top of everything else wonderful about this place, theyre thoughtful.Anyone who says they mix up dates is wrong. First off, they text or call you as confirmation for your appointment date. Second, they give you a business card. They take their time with you and never rush you.

Not very accurate with their appointments at all. They give you time and when you show up they say a different time was given. And blame you for getting confused even though you had it written down and you are always an on time person. Unbelievable! They even give you attitude! No, I would never recommend anybody of my family to be mistreated like this and go here. I hope I am the only person that this happened to and it could be just my own experience. However, they should really have not treated us like this over there, very unprofessional. I am a health care provider and I work in the ICU most of the time. First thing we were taught is medical ethics. And this good behavior is passed to others. In any medical field, patient is always first.

Called to make an appointment and was looking forward to going to this dentist based on reviews. However, they wouldn’t schedule my minor son and myself on the same day due to a policy made because people didn’t show up. Because we only have one car and making ride arrangements is a challenge, so I will have to go elsewhere which may not seem like a big deal but it made an already anxiety filled situation even worse. While I’m sure one or two new patients doesn’t mean much to them, the amount of dental work I will be paying out of pocket isn’t small. Accommodating patients should be a priority, in my opinion.

Ive been going to this Gentle Dental for years (decades?) and the entire staff is excellent. Years ago I switched jobs and moved and tried a new dentist and was dissatisfied, so when I switched jobs and moved again, I looked to see if Dr. Minetola and this Gentle Dental were on the list of my new insurance. They were, so now I drive 4 hours each way to go here!

I absolutely have so much anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I have never been to a office that made me feel so comfortable. I still have a great amount of anxiety but it seems like once I get there and have been there a few mins I calm down a lot every other dentist it just got worst and worst until I was done. I LOVE this place! Thank you for being so understanding and caring!

I have recommended this dentist to my family because of the many good experiences I have had there. The dentist himself is very kind and puts the patient at ease. However, do not accidentally forget an appointment (like could happen to anyone with a busy schedule) because the receptionist OKayla will call you and be extremely rude. Ive always been satisfied with my appts at Gentle Dental, everyone is very professional, friendly & polite. Any dental work Ive had there was very good. They are also very prompt, never a long wait once you check in. I definitely recommend them.

A few months ago, I had my wisdom teeth extracted at this location. Procedure went fine and all co-payments based on my insurance coverage were paid. Few weeks later, I received a mail saying that I owed XXX amount of dollars to this practice. This came in as a surprise, so I called in to inquire about the billing. I was informed that 2 of the extracted teeth werent covered by my dental insurance because they were surgical removals--mind you, I paid extra initially for these 2 removals. Gentle Dental told me I would have to call my dental insurance to figure out things. I did and my insurance told me they couldnt justify the higher costs and I will have to ask Gentle Dental to file with my medical insurance. Gentle Dental then told me that we dont file medical claims. So I called up my medical insurance and explained the situation. My medical insurance ended up sending me a claim form in the mail, that I filled out and submitted with all the documents that I had ( EOB, billing reminders from Gentle, etc). Less than a week later, my medical insurance returned my mail requesting itemized bills for each claim. The next day I called Gentle Dental to request for that information. I was promised to receive that information in the mail. Till this day, I have not received that information, but a constant reminder of how much I owe to them. On top of that, the amount that I owed kept increasing without proper justification. They made the effort to refer me to their debt collector agency but none toward giving me the information that I need so that my medical insurance could pay them. Im writhing this review to warn other patients of the potential pitfalls they may fall in by going to this place.

Appointments are always on time with little time in the waiting room. Doctor is very honest and to the point to give you options on both work to be performed and payment options. I have referred many of my friends and Family to Gentle Dental in Allentown.

I love my dentist experience at your office. What I dont like is when the office manager hold your money for credit. Im okay with a $50 balance but holding $230. Is ridiculous. It was an overpayment I made and I should of had that money given back without making it a hassle. That left a bad taste in my mouth and when I recommend others to your office, I do give them a heads up on that experience. I had to wait 6months to receive my money and the only reason it was given back because I made a stink about it. I have been going to this office since 2006 or even earlier.

I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS so the fact that I’m writing this is just sad. I went here today 10/14/2019 at 10am and they were Not gental for me! My first and last time here. I have a small mouth so when the assistant was taking my xrays it made it a little harder for him. I’ve never had such painful xrays in my life!!!! THIS man doing them kept huffing and puffing and saying stuff under his breath out of frustration. On top of that it took him almost 15 minutes to take the X-ray just for them to be “not good enough”. He was unprofessional, unapologetic, and rude. I can literally feel little cuts on the bottom of mouth because of how hard and long the device was pressed into mouth. I didn’t even want him to clean my teeth after that so once I wasted 30 minutes of my life there, I left & will never be back.

I have the worst dental anxiety and the staff and Dentist here are amazing.! I had a dental emergency and was not a patient but they fit me in the same day. Put me on antibiotics and scheduled a removal. I am deffinetly a patient for life now and my anxiety over dentist is gone thanks to Gentle Dental and its staff.!!

I have only good things to say. My experience with gental dental is great so far. I just think replaceing the clips that is in the denture so they fit tighter and charging 50 dollars is a little expensive, I think they should be included with the bill we already paid.

Before last week I had only ever gone to the same dentist since I was born. However, since they were only a pediatric dentist I had to stop seeing them once I turned 19 and had to find a new dentist that I could put all my trust into.When I found gentle dental on google, I read all the reviews and decided to give it a shot. I planned an opening patient appointment to see if I liked the office and doctor. The building layout and location is a little goofy and confusing, however thats an irrelevant detail to how great they turned out to be.I saw Joanna as my assistant when I first got there and she was very kind, listened to why I came, and offered me advice regarding my transition. She did a minor examination and took x-rays. While waiting for Doctor Minetola to come in, she informed me that there was an opening for a cleaning if I wanted (which was amazing and thoughtful of them to inform me).When Doctor Minetola came in, he was just phenomenal. He took the time to explain about the business as a whole, introduce himself, ask about my current life, and dental history. He then did an examination and was just overall very kind and thoughtful. He suggested work to be done that was backed up with proof and professionalism. Overall, he is a fabulous Doctor.Finally, I saw Amy who did my cleaning. As everyone else did, she was sure to introduce herself and ask about my life. She explained everything she was doing and what I needed to do to keep up with my dental health.I would say that Gentle Dental definitely made me feel comfortable in my (forced) switch to a new dentist. I would recommend them to anyone else in my position or just looking for a new dentist. Overall wonderful service, staff, and most of all dentistry work. I will definitely return for all my other dental needs!

So I came into this facility expecting a great experience...well my experience was the total opposite. My back tooth was hurting so badly, so I decided to look online for a dentist. Came across Gentle Dental and made an appointment, to my surprise I was able to schedule an appointment for the same day.At first everything was fine but when I went in to see the dentist, hmmm... He was pretending to be nice at first but did a whole 360. I was expecting a phone call from my eye doctor, because I have Glaucoma and recently found out I had Cateract, so I needed to go back to see him as soon as possible. While in the dentist chair I got the call, so I answered the phone. I just needed to know when I could come in. The dental assistant asked if they could go ahead and numb me up, at that time I was put on hold with my eye doctor. MARK MINETOLA came in and because the doctors office came back on the line with me to confirm my appointment, he flew into a rage and said angrily We gonna have to reschedule this, and walked out.I could not believe what just happened, he was very unprofessional and should not be working in the medical field, he needs to be fired for what he did. I had to lay in agony for 1 day and a half, until I could reschedule.What an evil man I would not recommend anyone to go there. Gentle Dental my ass, it is more like Devil Dental. Worse experience of my life. I will tell everyone about my first experience there. I should give no stars.

Walked in with my fiancé to expect good service for her because she is having a bad tooth ache (possible infection) was told our appointment was at 9:30 am and we were sitting there for a hour + , I went to tell the receptionist that we would have to reschedule and said “I’m on the phone I’ll be with you in a minute thanks” I can clearly see that she was on the phone but I also have to be at work at a specific time so anymore time waisted Is bad on my behalf. The receptionist/check in lady also was very rude to my fiancé and talked down to her due to the fact that she doesn’t have dental insurance at this time.Because of how rude the check in lady was today on 11-29-17 at 9am we will never return and will give a different dental office our business, there are more places around that would appreciate our business and us as patients.We will not recommend this office to anyone, and I will be glad to spread the news, word of mouth and on social media so no one else has to be treated like garbage.We are all adults and there is no need to be talked down to because no one is gonna take that anymore, people will just easily go else where, spread the news and before you know it offices like this one will have terrible reviews and people will think twice about coming here.Everyone that sees this, go else where! Thanks to the lady at the desk, she should be replaced with someone who would appreciate the job and treat patients right so that way patients keep on returning.
