Great experience. The owner gave me a great cut and I will most likely return again. For the record, this place does not do appointments and is not shy from telling you that so any reviews giving it a one star based on that should be easily dismissed.

This is a response for Nando Luna. Actually I recall your experience, I was the person in the chair when you called and then came in. I dont know why you think you are special and should be allowed to cut in front of other people. Allen Barbershop clearly operates on a first come first serve basis, all the other customers understand this. I suppose that concept is too difficult for you to understand. Its probably best for you to continue getting your hair cut at a beauty shop.

Great experience. Roy is very friendly and is an amazing barber. He takes his time with every cut and it shows in the end result. Dont be shocked to wait, he doesnt take appointments and its first come first serve. Definitely worth the wait though.

Allen Barber Shop is my go to barbershop and will continue to be. The interior of the barbershop speaks for itself. If you want to walk out the door after a haircut knowing it was done right, with the greatest care, this is the place. Roy, the owner, runs a first come, first served model that has stood the test of time, giving no preference to whether you are a new customer or repeat. He treats everyone the same; with care, diligence, and professionalism.

Not sure why anyone would give Roy a one star review he is nothing but professional and treats all his customers with respect.I have referred coworkers to his establishment and they just love the atmosphere and conversation. I grew up with an old school barbershop shop and Roy’s has that feel.

Horrible service today, never got to experience a cut.I called to see wait time and Owner said “one in the chair, 5 minute arrival should be ok.” I showed up within 5 minutes since I was in downtown Allen already. He explained that I am now behind the same guy in the chair when I called plus two locals. I usually make appointments with a Barber to respect their schedule. The owner mentioned he’d rather help locals than me since I won’t be back anyway.He’s right about me not coming back

It is a very high quality hair cut for a great price and he is very accommodating and respectful. However if you are in a rush he takes an average of 20 minutes per cut and there will probably be people in front of you but I highly recommend it the wait is worth it

Awesome barber!! He’s the only one I know that can do a High & Tight military cut! Roy is very Thorough and makes sure your hair cut is perfect! The shop itself is nice, has the old school barber look and feel to it. Nothing fancy! I highly recommend! Bring cash, doesn’t take cards which is pretty cool. Like I said it’s old school!

When I moved to Texas, I searched and searched for an old-time barber. Well I found what I needed here. Roy is an excellent barber and very friendly and professional. I feel like I have known him all my life. I travel over 25 miles one-way to have my hair cut by Roy. (Truly, I would travel twice that far for a hair cut here.)

Dont go to this place if you are in a rush. You might have to wait like a hour for a haircut at times. But the haircut is really worth it! He takes around 15 to 20 minutes to do a haircut and a shave, and it is an experience that you wouldnt get at your normal stylist!

Roy is a great barber and overall great person. He has a lot of loyal customers and the wait can be lengthy at times but well worth it. I am old fashion and grew up going to barbers not hairstylists, so if you are one of those people this is the place to go.

I have moved to Allen 5 years ago and been hopping from Fantastic Sam to Great Clips and so many other location, searching for a good barber and eventually found Roy at Allen Barber Shop.This is a classic style barber shop!! What I used to remember when I was much younger, when barbers were the owners and took personal care of their customers.He doesnt have credit card machine, and operates only on cash or check, his web site is simple, there are no hair products to push like other places, and for that I value him more, it shows me that he is not greedy and he is not competing with any body else for more money, he is simply there because he loves his job and his job is giving a great hair cut and have his customers feel special.I have sat on his barber chair two times and both times I got up extremely satisfied with the haircut.I am glad that finally I can say I have a barber and his name is ROY ROGERS,

I took our son (8 yr.) to get a haircut here for the first time today. We recently moved to TX from CA and had been going to only one barber since our boy was 1 year old. This is the second barber shop that we tried as the first place a few weeks ago wasnt up to par (Floyds in Frisco). My son liked his haircut, the barber is a professional gentleman and did a great job. We will be returning customers.

Roy takes his time. Hair looks great every time. If he doesnt know how to style your hair the way you want it, hell gladly refer you to someone who does.

I took my four year old son to get a hair cut here based on the reviews. He is normally unreasonably afraid of the clippers, but Roy was extremely patient with him, and by the end of it, my kiddo was smiling while Roy was using the clippers.
