PARKING NOT INCLUDED IN COST OF ROOM.Get ready to pay $22/day for parking.I do not recall being told when I was providing my details for my car at check-in that there was a $22/day fee. I assumed the sign posted outside the garage was for non-hotel guests taking advantage of public transport. While I am at it, the bed was uncomfortably firm. There was no turnover service during my stay, although that might be normal in these modern days.I regret this hotel choice completely. 100%

I’ve stayed here before on different months and years. The walls are truly paper thin. This morning28Sept2021, I was either next door, above me, or across the hall, at 2:40a.m. someone who had bad nasal or allergy problems; for over 2 hours I heard them clearing their throat. The room was fine and my sleep was good as per usual. Some upgrades and clean. Fridge and microwave. Parking is w/a room key card. There is a gas station, CVS, ABC liquor store, Aldi’s, and 7Eleven across the road from the hotel.

I booked this place because of its proximity to the airport and its free airport shuttle service. When I got to the hotel and requested a 5:00 shuttle, I was informed that the shuttle service did not operate that early. It does not state that the shuttle operates limited hours on any of the third party booking sites: Booking.com, hotels.com, etc. When I complained to Marriot about this misinformation on all of these sites, they first - told me theyd get back to me - and didnt, then told me that the hotel said the issue had been resolved (obviously, it wasnt), then emailed me to ask which sites I had seen this misinformation on (apparently, upon being notified there was misinformation regarding their hotel on third party booking sites, they still couldnt be bothered to look it up themselves), and finally told me it wasnt their problem. It all began with what I thought was a simpleidyske by Martiot, that I should be reimbursed for, but it ended with me discover (a) they just dont care (b) they have the worst customer care department ever!

The room has a very strong overpowering odor which lasted days. I initially thought it was the cleaning products as the hallway smelled the same way, thats why I didnt asked for another room thinking all the rooms may smell the same way but no, the next day the same odor that was in the hallway cleared up but the same overpowering smelly odor was still in the room. Also no one told us when we first checked in that if we needed our room clean we have to request it otherwise your room wont get cleaned including no new sheets or towels. The room itself was ok, just a basic size room with burgundy and peach colored walls. The tub is too small and narrow. No walk in shower. There is a small fridge, microwave, iron, iron board and blow dryer in the room. Tv is a 65 sitting on top of the desk. Theres a desk with chair, but if youre needing room on the desk it may not be enough room on the desk due to the large tv sitting on it. Theres small sofa and a basic coffee table. Gave a two star because the staff was friendly but not informative and the room. Hope this review helps.

This is the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed at. They charged my card with TWO holds for my multiple days stay. They have old TVs that they set to where you cannot hook up anything with an HDMI card to play video games or stream with a Roku. The ceiling is in poor condition. The room walls do not look appealing. They charge $33 A DAY to park in their parking garage. They have you come down to get anything you request to your room instead of bringing it up. I do not recommend anyone staying here. It’s overpriced for poor customer service and accommodations.

This overnight stay, booked at the last minute as we were en route from Boston to Savannah, was just OK. It was a clean room and that is all I can say. The elevators were out of service (fire department was there when we arrived), they couldn’t find our reservation (even though it was confirmed on my phone), and the shower head sprang a leak forcing a stream of water towards the bathroom ceiling, putting a hole in the ceiling and spraying the walls etc. the staff was professional and friendly and dealt with the situation as best they could. I am a Bonvoy member and opt to stay at a Marriott Property when I travel. That said, this hotel needs a full update.

Courtyard by Marriott is a very nice hotel. The room is comfortable and spacious. The bed was clean, soft, and very relaxing. The amenities are nice and the staff was kind, helpful and courteous. The hotel has a few bus drivers that are able to transport you to the airport or shopping, etc. My drivers name was Chris and he was a perfect gentleman. Over all, I give this hotel a 9.5. Im taking off .5% because the toilets are extremely short. More so for a child and not tall enough for an average adults height.

I took advantage of their pool and hot tub. I liked that the hot tub was big and roomy. I didn’t like the fact that I had to pay for the breakfast. The buffet breakfast that was offered was not worth the price. Other less expensive hotel include breakfast that have better choices. My stay at the Courtyard Alexandria Pentagon was an okay experience. Im a man who is fairly simple and easy to please. Im not picky, entitled or a neat freak. Im very quick to sweep things under the rug like most men. Having said that its a few things that just made me uneasy about my stay there. Upon entering the hotel I went to the front desk to check in and started to read the posted sign about the hold on the cards. At first no one was there and when the lady came from the back her demeanor was just so blah and unfriendly. Now I understand people have long days and get irritated at work but that shouldnt be the face Im greeted with when I walk into a places as a happy customer. I asked a few questions about the sign and she answered them to the best of her ability. She then looked at me and took a phone call as i stood at the desk ready to check-in. Then a guy (who was pretty casual) came out and assisted me. The check-in from there was smooth. On the way up to my room I stopped pass the table wit the cookies and infused water that looked so refreshing, especially after a long day at a conference. I grabbed a cup of water which was really good. Then I grabbed a cookie, bit into it, it was hard. Like cmon who messed up the cookies?! I went to my room which was on the 7th floor. When I opened the door it had the mildew, wet carpet smell. It wasnt crazy over powering but it was definitely present. One other issue I had was I called room service for extra glasses and it took 2 hours to receive them, after calling back an hour later to figure out where the glasses were. They did comp an Ice cream to make up for the long wait. Aside from the dry personality, the hard cookie, the mildew smell and the long wait, the rest of my experience was pretty good. The shower was great, the bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious with basic amenities. Room service cleaned excellent. The pool and Jacuzzi was great wish it was open until at least Mid-night. Had a fun bonding night with some adults from the hotel in the Jacuzzi then 10 Oclock came and no one was ready to get out. Just a few things from my point of view.

The room is nice itself. The location was also convenient. Parking however was ridiculously expensive over $21 a day and was not informed at all. Only reason I found out was because I saw it on my credit card transaction was way more than parking in Washington DC itself. Also at late at night people were partying next door. They were playing loud music and just talking loud. The walls in between you can hear them loud and clear. Weve been Bonvoy Members since 1996 and have stayed at many Marriott brand hotels including the Courtyard. The management at this hotel did not seem like Marriott management. We had a problem with the desk chair in room #921. It was shabby and the vinyl/leather covering was badly worn, coming off on your clothing when you sat on it. We reported it the first evening of our stay and the response from the manager on site was, Ill record it and let them know. I asked her if it would be replaced since we had to use it throughout our 9 day stay. We were told that the housekeepers would be asked to find a better chair. No chair was found and there was no followup from management. We asked again and were told that the hotel was going to be renovated and there were no extra chairs. We were offered a discount on our dinner at the Bistro which we declined. It was obvious that each of your managers could do nothing to solve our problem. On the fifth day we requested a change of rooms to Rm. 914. Chris the shuttle driver was great as well as the gentleman that drove us to the airport. There was not enough daily variety in the breakfast and the Bistro menu was limited, although the food at Bistro was excellent. The Bistro staff were great. The location of the hotel is excellent for visiting the local attractions. The cost of items in the hotel market was ridiculous. We were happy to have Aldis, 7-11 and CVS within walking distance. The airport shuttle and transportation stops in Shirlington and Pentagon City were excellent.

Slightly below average stay, rooms were probably renovated about 5-7 years ago. My three biggest complaints were the room temperature, shower, and punctuality and friendliness of the staff. The rooms thermostat could not be set lower than 65 however I would be surprised if the room ever got below 75 degrees and the hallways were closer to 80. I woke up in a pool of my own sweat twice. Overall not very restful sleep. The shower had good water pressure, however the water didnt drain faster than the water coming in and I was standing in a pool of water after about five minutes. I dont know if its because the drain was clogging or because the drain couldnt keep up with the high water pressure? The staff was very professional, however I dont think I saw a smile from any of the staff members throughout my whole stay. I also used the hotels airport shuttle and it left 6 minutes late and the driver was audibly upset with the traffic, certainly not the most professional.Overall the location is suburban and fairly quiet and it wasnt a terrible stay, however Ill certainly pay the extra $30 to stay at a newer property in crystal city next time.

The hotel staff are completely unprofessional and take no ownership for issues. The young man at the front desk did not have an answer to any issue and the manager never ventured out of the office to correct any of the issues that arose. I requested the managers assistant several times, Brian Walsh never once came out of his office. Issues #1) We were placed in a room with several adjoining doors, when I asked for a more secure room, I was informed that there were none, but I persisted until I was moved. 2) The pool open an hour late and it lead to a very disappointed toddler. 3) The bathroom was dirty and the hall ways were hot and stinky.

Also, the shuttle runs to other places besides the airport and back which made the return trip 30 minutes long!
