My laptop battery had some issues where the computer would just shut down at full charge, and LapFix replaced the battery and fixed the fan as well. My computer is now good as new! They did the whole job at a fair rate, and I was impressed with their customer service. I would recommend for anyone to come here if they need to get an electronic fixed.

I came to get my MacBook Pro fixed because my brother had taken it to the beach and got sand all over it! I called and they were very informative and helpful about how this could potentially damage my laptop. I took my laptop and it was fixed the very same day for a fair price. I had a great experience in the computer shop. Michael greeted us, and kindly explained how to use the ipad for the checking in process.Erik was kind enough to send me updates via text and the shop let me know when the repair was complete and ready for pickup. I saw the text a little late, and was worried I wouldnt make it before closing. Michael was at the desk again, remembered us, happened to stay open a few extra minutes and kindly assisted us with the final transaction.The repair took a few extra days due to the holiday weekend, but Im very pleased with the work.I will return for repairs again if needed!

Spilled some water on my computer but they were able to check it out and fix the ports no problem. They were transparent about pricing and certainly cheaper than going directly to Apple. Eric was very professional and communicative about the computer.

I went with my sister, she had issues with her laptop. I just happened to ask if they fixed phone screens which they do. My phone screen is cracked really bad I showed him and he gave me a screen protector until I was able to comeback and get my screen fixed. He told me that it was dangerous and he did not want me to cut my fingers on my screen so he provided with a screen protector. I’m so grateful because I have a four year old who like playing on my phone so he also protected her fingers too

LapFix was unable to repair my hard drive however they made the effort to retrieve my data and didnt charge me. I will absolutely go to them again in the future.

My 15 year old Dell Latitude E6500 crashed! No backup. Huge “Disaster”.Although Lapfix wasn’t able to recover the data on the project I was working on at the time, they did retrieve a lot of data info, add new programs to my new computer, and get me back up and running.If I could adopt Michael and Eric and take them home with me to counsel me through all the new details of the new programs i now have to learn I would “in a heartbeat”!Thanks guys — you are my new best friends!

Lapfix computer repair were very professional in their approach. They listened , checked the laptop and gave their price. Very straight people, repaired what they promised. Also went a step forward to repair the on/off button and change the keyboard which was quite old . There were no extra charges.Highly recommended because of their knowledge of computer repair.

LapFix was very professional. They were honest about my issue and provided recommendations. Their turn around time was reasonable. They had to order me a new battery and power cord it took week but they were very honest bout the length of time. Tried to rip me off! Do not trust them! My laptop was working perfectly fine but there was a lot of dust in the vents causing it to get hot. They quoted me for $65. I gave them the laptop, then they rang me up and said the laptop was broken and I could either pay $579 to get it fixed by them or $ 140 to take the data off it! I asked what had happened and they wouldnt say. I asked to take the laptop back and then they charged me $65 to retrieve my NOW BROKEN computer! Not happy!

Don’t waste your time. Brought in my MacBook Air for a power issue and it took over a month for them to fix because they were trying to repair a damaged component instead of just replacing it which they eventually did. It is seven years old but worked perfectly until the power issue and since the repair it hardly functions.

Background: I have been building computers since 1989 and have owned almost every PC compatible computer since 1985 (e.g., PCjr, 286, 386SX, 386DX, 486SX, 486DX, 486DX2, 486DX4, Pentium, Pentium 2, Cyrix 6x86, etc.) However, since I now manage multi-billion dollar programs, I dont have the time to do board-level repairs, thus my experience with LapFix.What happened: I brought in an Alienware Alpha, specifically telling the LapFix staff that I already knew the problem was a blown capacitor on the motherboard and that I wanted them to diagnose the specific capacitor because others proposed fixes of $350 for a new motherboard was too expensive. I asked for a range of costs and they refused to provide it, but since they had agreed to diagnose the specific capacitor, I left the machine with them to do the agreed upon work.When they contacted me later, they said we can do a repair for the motherboard for $365, and refused to tell me what the specific problem was. When I asked them what diagnosis they performed on the computer, they refused to tell me, saying we did some tests, and also refused to answer when I asked why they didnt perform the agreed-upon diagnosis. Even so, they held my computer hostage until I paid a $65 diagnosis fee, and when I got the computer home I couldnt see any screwdriver or other marks which would indicate they had even opened the computer.If the business isnt prepared to do the service asked for, the business should refuse the work, as it is fraudulent and offensive to charge a diagnosis fee when the customer knows more about the problem than the person who diagnosed the machine.If you decide to use the business, be prepared to pay $65 to obtain zero information about the problem with your computer.

I have been a satisfied customer for at least 10 years and have recommended many friends to the business, but I had a terrible experience at the Duke Street store on March 24. I was so angry I wrote to Karim the owner. He immediately contacted me and worked hard to resolve the issue. He worked personally with me to make it right. When he said he would handle the issue, he did.Im glad I gave them a second chance, since Id NEVER had a bad experience with them. Im back as a happy customer now.Its refreshing to find a business that works with customers without getting defensive or ignoring customer concerns. LapFix does that and more.

LapFix is a real gem! I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Apple and had a very nice person who knew nothing about iMovie. Eric at LapFix researched my issue (trying to retrieve a half-finished old project) and helped me find a way to get the old data. I also brought in a 20-year-old computer with no power cord to retrieve old files. Bottom line: if you think you’ve lost important information on your computer, don’t panic yet. There may be hope!

They broke my pc! I asked them to change the ram. They swapped the CPU for a cheaper model and then dented the screen. Then they refused to give my laptop back until I payed an additional $90 for unforseen labour which was a lot more than the agreed cost! I am furious!

I have brought several laptops to Lapfix and they were able to fix each issue without a problem. There is a delay at times with receiving the laptop, but that is because of shipping, which is out of thier control alot of times. Lapfix also has great customer service and are always willing to answer questions you may have.

I am a photographer I had my worse nightmare happen for me to find out my SD card I used for three family sessions was damaged and couldn’t find the pictures I took when I tried to upload to my computer to edit. I have an old 2010 MacBook Pro that I use to use as my primary computer until I got a 2018 Mac mini. Unfortunately the battery on the MacBook started puffing up mid-last year and the mousepad started curling up and could only be used if plugged in. Eventually it wouldn’t turn on. I was recommended Lapfix by a couple of friends and after a few months of procrastinating the repair I went in and they were very friendly and said they’d call when it was ready. I expected the replacement battery to take at least a week to order and come in but it was ready and replaced in less than 48 hours! They also diagnosed that it wouldn’t turn on due to the puffed up battery hitting the RAM card. Only ~$165 total!! I had debated buying my own battery online and doing it but from some research batteries that old aren’t very common and I probably would’ve screwed up the replacement. Laptop is back working like nothing ever happened. Highly recommend LapFix!

These guys are great! Took my 2013 Macbook Pro to the Apple store on several occasions because it was overheating. Apple Store employees all said “we can’t replicate the issue, so we can’t fix it.” Then they would recommend me buy a new Macbook. I honestly had just given up. Then, someone recommended trying an independent repair shop. I spent a good 20 minutes reading the reviews of all the computer repair shops in the DMV area and felt like this shop was a good bet. I bet wisely. The staff are super friendly. Identified my issue (motherboard failure) and responded within a day. Ordered the parts and I had my Macbook back within a week.
