Great place to get absolutely awesome deals! Ive probably purchased items that are well over $15,000 to $20,000 in total value and actually spent less than $1,500.The owner is very helpful. One auction was in Bowie, MD and I was unable to get up there to pick up the items. I asked him if he could bring those items down. This was an Ethan Allen dining room table, antique mahogany sideboard. I told Josh I was unable to pick them up, not a problem, just let him know which Saturday I was coming by to pick them up. He brought them down from Bowie, MD to Woodbridge, VA!When I picked up the dinning room table, about a week later it was wrapped in moving cloth. I asked Josh if he needed to keep it and he told me if I needed to barrow it, I could. I told him I brought my own moving blankets to protect the furniture. So I swapped out his moving blankets for mine.At another auction My wife came along to assist in carrying a large Thomasville China Cabinet at one of the auctions. No way she was able to help, Josh stepped right in and helped me carry the China Cabinet to the truck. Absolutely didnt have to do that. Just goes to the caliber of a person he is to help out!One last thing, the descriptions on the auction are pretty close. I generally cant make it out to the pre-viewing of the auction items, so I rely upon the photos and description. One of the items, I called Josh to verify a description, no problem.Your getting great estate items at a fraction of the price you would pay anywhere else. Finally, I wouldnt expect a canopy if it was raining... I would just bring a tarp to cover the furniture while carrying it to the truck.Definitely recommend checking out Alexandria Auction if you havent yet! Well worth your time and savings!!Mark

Cheated & Mistreated? I was bidding using one of the online portals and I absentee bid on many lots. Unfortunately I only won one lot. Because I couldnt predict what lots I won, I couldnt arrange shipping in advance (as recommended) with the auction house. Come time to arrange shipping, I learned their rules are VERY STRICT and the curt and inflexible Mr. Wilbanks made it clear, they would not deviate from their policies under no circumstances. What was my big ask? To use my FedEx account number (or shipping label Id send them) and drop 1 gold necklace in a FedEx envelope for me. Should have cost me about $6 total. Nope! I was required to use UPS who charged $8 to pickup the necklace and nearly $10 to ship it (photo attached). Finally, when received, there was a discrepancy on the lot with the weight of the white gold. The listing said 8 grams but when received the paper said its 7.1 grams (photos attached). At ~$40/gram thats certainly worth mentioning when calculating the listing value and final hammer bid/price. Mr. Wilbanks and their website make it clear there are thousands of customers worldwide, but one simple gesture of customer service for your local (in Virginia) customers could have really gone far to earn a loyal customer. This time friends, you came up short, but like Frank Sinatra, you did it your way!

They were very helpful, professional, honest, and knowledgeable. We sold my mothers complete estate through Alexandria Auctions and they took care of everything from moving valuables, removing trash, and donating things that wouldnt sell. I highly recommend them and would use them again. Made a very difficult transition easy and were able to get significantly more than an estate sale.

The Alexandria Auction experience for me was less than acceptable. When we spend hire dollars for items we want those items to be in the same condition as when we arrive to pick them up and we want to have the convenience of loading the items in a dry and safe conditions. This past weekend I purchase two large furniture items. I emailed Josh three times to ask if there were any times other than 10-2 because it appeared that we were due for torrential downpours at that time. It was pouring rain the day we picked the items up. When we arrived to the warehouse, all of the auction items were in a smaller warehouse with no area for any vehicle to pull in out of the rain to load their items. Hence, we had to load our $400 worth of furniture in the rain. When I commented to Josh that it would have been better for customers if there were some place to pull in to load our newly purchased items out of the rain. Josh responded by asking me the question..did I know any other estate sale place that does that? I didnt respond to Josh. While there loading our items in the pouring rain, another woman showed up to pick up her very long carpet runner. She noticed that not only was it covered with furniture but that it was wet in one area; a fairly large area. Although Josh offered to give her the money back, just my opinion, but there wasnt much care and concern for her item she just purchased. Personally, I will never purchase from here again. We have purchased multiple times from Alexandria Auctions because they are a true auction service with no reserves and there is always something great to bid on.Josh is always polite, helpful and a pleasure to deal with.Pick up on Saturday gets busy, but when it does Josh has always volunteered to help us after he has finished with someone else. I have observed him helping numerous people as much as he possibly can and he is always kind and helpful with everyone. We have always experienced professional and courteous service from Alexandria auctions so we keep coming back.We live too far away to pre-view items so we rely on pictures and descriptions to make a decision about what to bid on. The items listed are usually well photographed with a brief description. We have bought many items at very good prices and always had a large enough window of time to arrange a stress free pick up. I would recommend Alexandria auctions without any hesitation.

These guys and gals are THE BEST. They consistently have an interesting selection of usable and collectable items & furniture week after week. Besides just the quality items, the owner and staff are friendly, helpful, and very personable. I always enjoy chatting with them, and if I ever have a question or request in person or over email; they are responsive and have well addressed my needs. A big reason that I buy from them repeatedly is their amazing pickup window. 2 full days for each auction; no one else does that! It makes buying from them incredibly easy. Its also quite convenient that they have the next weeks items out for preview during pickup. I will continue, against my better judgement; to be a far too regular customer.

Overall, my experience with the Alexandria Auctions was excellent. Josh arrived 30 minutes before scheduled time and was polite and professional . He even helped with loading heavy items on my trailer which exceeded all my expectations .

While I’d selfishly love to keep secret the great finds at Alexandria Auctions, Josh and his team deserve a great review more than I deserve to keep the good deals all to myself. I recently stumbled across the online auction world by chance and now regret having furnished most of my home the traditional way, now realizing I could’ve spent a fraction of the cost (and for much higher quality pieces than your standard furniture retailer offers) from Alexandria Auctions.The constantly changing variety of items keeps each auction exciting and interesting. The quality of pieces is impeccable, descriptions and photos are fair and accurate, and the deals you can win are often completely unheard of...Talk about value!Perhaps even more important is the great customer experience and kind, accommodating interactions I’ve had with Josh. The listing described the available items so that you could opt to not preview. The selection was diverse and of high quality. The instructions on how to bid, when and where the auction was held and instructions for pickup were excellent. Pickup was a breeze with items clustered by buyer. I received help with loading despite being forewarned to bring my own muscle. My most expensive item --a clock--came freshly serviced, with operational instructions, and packed for travel. The entire experience was faultlessly executed. I would highly recommend Alexandria Auctions.

Disappointing experience. They couldn’t find my stuff nor my invoice and then conveniently switched tack to say it was my fault anyway, because I had not picked up the two small prints immediately. Never mind that I had kindly asked whether I could pick them up at a later point, since I could not drive down right away.What was most offputting, however, was the agrressive vulgarity of the staff.
