I always come here to get my pedicures and the staff and service is always great. However, I come to get a pedicure today and they are not following the state wide mask mandate! Two customers came in WITHOUT MASKS and were served! This made me very uncomfortable! They were sitting one seat down from me and they were never asked to put on a mask.

My favorite place to go in the country! They always are very meticulous, polite, attentive, and talented. They take care of me.

I go here for pedicures only. I like this place because they use bags in their pedicure sinks so that helps with cleanliness. The prices are not too bad either. I really enjoy Helen, she has a great personality and cracks me up everytime. A lot of people come here for manicures too, and have commented that they like these also. I called and made an appointment for 4 people the day before but when we got there they had not reserved the seating so we had to wait about 30min, so personally, I dont think it makes a difference to call in to reserve. The first time I went I had excellent service. Loved it.Then I went today, booked an appointment the first time I went for this appointment. Didn’t get the girlI thought I booked with a d had some young lady that acted like this was her first time doing a pedicure. The worst pedicure. Very basic, no filing, no cleaning under the nail, no massage, nothing!She was going toGive me a manicure but I just wanted to get the hell out of here. And the fact that I know they are talking about all of us is so unprofessional. Went to pay after opting out of my SCHEDULED manicure and paid with a card and the girl had the audacity to askIf I wanted to add a tip. No I did not.I won’t refer them .

I have been to this nail salon 2 times (at a friends request) and both times have been a HORRIBLE experience. The first time I went there it took 2 hours to get a simple manicure done and the quality was sub par. The second time I went there I asked for a simple French tip and it turned out really bad, the nails are so thick and the “tip” covers 60% of my nail despite the lady telling me she could do a French tip. If you want reasonably timed, good quality nails go somewhere else.

On time with my appointment. Only took 20 min for a gel manicure, which would have been great if it was good quality. My nails are very uneven and full of bubbles and chunky. Very rushed

Worst mani-pedi I ever had. Gel nail manicure didn’t even last one week without chipping. Went back on the eighth day and they would only replace the 6 chipped nails even though we couldn’t find the matching color! They actually wanted to send me out like that. Terrible service.

Its true that making an appointment doesnt guarantee that they will be ready for you at that time, however, the place is clean and spacious and I will be so happy to receive their services.

They put an UNLICENSED worker work on my feet. She is very nice and sweet but I just feel uncomfortable.

Was not really listened to, nails are god aweful abs thick and shape does not match on any nail. Horrible for 105 dollars!!!

They messed up my friends nails and we went back they fixed hers and gave me a clear coat but it should have been done right the 1st instead of wasting time to go back and have their mistakes fixed. All in all an experience we wont have again.

They are taking precautions to be as clean as possible, and Chi always does a great job and never rushes you. They prefer making an appointment right now vs walk ins since they have limited staff and occupancy. :)

First the wait was insane for a hack job they do not care about the customer service. The water was so hot my feet burned instantly she only put hot water no temperature control. The tech was buffing my feet during a pedicure and did not pay attention. She ended up filing off soft skin. The tech then proceeded to clip off a cuticle and clipped off the top part of the side of my toe. Do not bring yourself or kids here. Did not see them use any type of disenfectan or PPE. They missed parts of my toenails and clipped them too short.

I called to make an appointment for 3 pedicures. The lady that answered agreed yes yes. I arrive for my appointment and everyone in the shop looked at me lost like they didnt know what was going on. Then they ask me to wait 20 minutes. Very unprofessional never going back.

They were able to accommodate all four of us as a walk-in! Super friendly and all of our nails came out great. We all had a lot fun, laughing with the staff. I had Lyly who did a super job. Thanks guys!

They did a good job on my gel manicure. She did accidentally make me bleed when cutting away dead skin but it wasnt for a lack of being gentle. It truly was an accident

Both my mom and I have been coming to see Chi for the last 2 years. She is very professional, kind, and skilled! My gel pedicure always lasts over a month, and the edges are impeccable! The salon is lovely and clean as well! You will not regret coming here!

The worst set ive gotten, only went there because it was the only open place! Got my nails done whit LYLY. i honestly think she has no knowledge on doing nails! to applying the acrylic to painting the nails everything came out ugly! dont think it was worth $45 i payed!

Not one to take my time for a review unless the service is THAT bad. Hard to pinpoint my frustrations with them and I’m easy to please. I’ve gone there twice within the week due to chipped nails. First time customer service was awkward and just bad. No thank you no okay you’re done they just get you in the chair, do it quickly and literally just walk away when done. Payment is vague, they tell you how much, you pay, they walk away. No thank you or have a nice day just silence. Almost feel like a nuisance as a customer. So second time, I didn’t ask for a redo I just went back in and asked for a polish..... even though it chipped within 4 days. Same thing happened again. Super rough when working too had to keep asking my daughter if she was okay. I also show her a picture of what we want (same exact thing as last time) it was a picture of what was done there....../she just does a bunch of dots on the fingers. Not even close to what we had before. So her body language becomes annoyed and bugged tugging at the finger to remove the polish. Then still does what she wants after 🤦🏻‍♀️ The service just as really bad. This place is conveniently close to home but I’d rather drive far then go here again. Unappreciated and disregarding to clients requests. Not to mention just rude.

Not clean at all. The lady that did my pedicure didnt wear a mask or gloves and coughed on my feet. Im not sure the utensils were cleaned properly as she just grabbed then out of an already opened box next to the station. The gel manicure was rushed and chipped the very next day. Not impressed. Very grossed out. Will not be returning.

They were very quick to get me in a chair. But they filed my nails until it became painful and cut my nails too short. Then they did not shape them before the polish. So when I asked for them to shape them, they did a terrible job.The gel color is uneven and clumpy. There are also black marks on some nails in which they refused to fix. I could’ve done a better job myself at home.Then when they finished, they overcharged me. They said the gel manicure for a solid color was $25, then charged me $45. When I asked why it is so expensive, the young man rolled his eyes and refused to give me an explanation. He just kept talking slower saying $45. He was disrespectful and condescending. Such a waste of money. Step one, is to find a kinder gentleman to work the front desk.When looking for a nail salon, best to avoid this one. Next time I’m going to Demi’s Nails. They could sure learn from that Salon!

First time here... loved it ❤️ Definitely will return 💅 compared to other places I’ve been prices are higher but worth it 💆🏼‍♀️ It is neat and tidy, they use gloves, and offer you water. Recommend to anyone who just wants to relax and treat yourself 😊

Worst ever! I have been there before and its 50/50 if you get a good nail tech. Today was the worst, I took my grand daughter for a day of relaxation for the $28.00 pedicure. I asked for my nails to be cut short, she didnt do it so I asked again very nicely, she was angry and was not nice, her and the lady working on my grand daughter were talking about me, I dont know the language but i know body language and they ignored myself and my grand daughter continuously talking in their own language the whole time. I will never go back, they both did a bad job, I paid and left a tip even though they both didnt deserve one. To make it worse they did a bad job on both of us..

My mom went for a gel manicure but the guy she had did a horrible job. However a client there referred my mom to a different nail tech, Van. So both my mom and I booked an appointment with her and she is Wondeful. Pleasant, considerate, and professional. She did a great job for us. Very happy with my nails and will go back.

I always Go to Van. She really does an amazing job. She’s thorough and her gel polish lasts longer than anyone I’ve ever gone to! I will Never go anywhere else because of her!

Iv been going to their competitor a few buildings down for over a year, lets just say Ill only be coming to Essense from now on! Very friendly staff. The girl who did my nails listened to everything I asked for. A basic gel manicure can definitely make you feel like a million bucks when the person doing it takes their time and is passionate about what they do!

Second time I get a pedicure here. I was rushed, pedicurist didnt address dry skin areas, leg/foot massage was horrible, and polish job is uneven and gloppy. Paid $35 for a lousy job. This place used to be amazing, but has definitely lost its niche.

I always wanted to try this place out to take my daughter. So on July 19, 2015 I went to this location( which is a Sunday). I asked them to give my daughter a regular polish, not gel! They didnt listen to me and gave her gel nails without telling me until I was about to pay. I asked for a light pink gel polish with a blue flower. I showed her how I wanted my nails. She kept insisting that pink and black was better and it looked prettier and a white flower would go better. I told her I didnt want my nails how she was trying to do them. She did not listen to me at all! I told her that I was not going to pay for them until she took them off and redo them how I wanted. She refused to take them off and I asked to speak to the manager. The manger and three other employees gained up on me (including a male employee who got in my face). This is not how you treat a paying customer. They tried to charge me $98.80 for my nails and my daughters nails. I could of done my own nails with a better flower. It looked like a 4 year old drew on my nails. The lines werent straight at all and I was not pleased at all!!!! The place I normally go to was closed this day so I thought I could give this place a try. Never again am I going back to this location. The people are rude and have no manners. They maybe great to other people but my experience was not a pleasant one at all!!!! I only pay $60 for me and my daughter at the place I go to. Their price isnt a good price at all!! Again this is the experience I had with them they may be better for someone else.

Been here several times, and it was all great until I was met with an middle aged tech and the older man host. They clearly OVERCHARGED me. At first the lady showed me the pamphlet with prices on it so I chose the cheapest option pedi(normal polish no gel 26dollars), and later on I was laft alone, so I had to go to the front to just pay and leave. The lady had to call the host(older guy) who then quickly went inside to get a new receipt that had way higher price (38 dollars) than original one. I kept asking them if this is the right price/ is the tip included, but they said it was the original price, even when I was paying in cash(they give people 8% discounts if you pay in cash-). So I had to pay all of that plus six dollars of tip. I didnt even bothered to fight for it at that point. To add more they did a horrible job, because they put thick layers not waiting much my pedi started cracking and chipping after two three days. I had to get rid of them and repaint it myself. DO NOT GO HERE.

Wow this place is horrible! If I could give them no stars I would! I will never come back here again!! If you are smart you wouldnt either! Such a waste of money! My nails look awful! They are different sizes and different shapes! The employees are so unprofessional this was the worst nail experience ever!!!!

Would not recommend. While my manicure and pedicure came out normal, I also requested eyebrow waxing. The girl doing my waxing did not ask about my skin type or take the time to cool down the wax, thus burning my eyelids during the waxing process. All this could have been avoided if the person doing my procedure was attentive and careful, not rushing to get in the next client.A trait I respect in a business is the ability to cater to clients individually, meaning asking them directly about any skin sensitives and other concerns they may have prior to doing a procedure. This establishment left me feeling like they do not care about the concerns of their clients, but are instead more worried about getting more clients in.

They charge your card twice. Then when you show proof from your bank statement they refuse to give your money back! Don’t bother with this hell hole! So unprofessional!! You will be reported to the Better Business Bureau!!!

I never come on here and write reviews unless I experience absolutely amazing customer service or just a terrible experience, and I got nothing but TERRIBLE SERVICE from this place. Not only is the customer service Awful but the man who answers the phone needs to be addressed by the owner and taught how to speak with potential/paying customers.those things matter. I got a gel manicure this past Saturday and it’s only been 1 day and my nail polish was already chipping off. So I called to get it fixed and the only thing they wanted to do was charge me for a new manicure. They didn’t even offer for me to come in and fix it, I left a tip before and I wish I never even choose this place and gave them any money with how they handle customers. The products aren’t good, they use cheap products. They talk about you right in front of you which is extremely rude and overall save your money and don’t go here many more nail places with better service and products! NOT WORTH IT ALL

Don’t waste your money. Go somewhere else. I brought my daughters with me yesterday for a mani-pedi and it was awful. The nail technician who worked on my 9 year old was so rude and rough with my daughter. Then she painted art on both my daughter’s fingers and toes (at an extra $10 cost!) without even asking us if we wanted it... which my daughter did not. My nail technician half heartedly massaged my feet with only one hand at a time. And then when it came time to pay the front desk staff overcharged me and then tried to tell me I could get a discount if I paid with cash. When I told them I didn’t have cash with me, they pointed to an ATM machine in their lobby and said to use that. I left feeling like they are running a shady business operation (maybe not reporting business to avoid taxes?), and poorly at that. I will never come back to this nail shop again.

Everything I asked for they could not do... I funally went with something simple I asked for a flower they couldnt even do that. Horrible service! Putrid manager hung up on me. He was extremely disrespectful. They charged me for the flower anyways. I did not leave a tip due to the fact that I did not get what I wanted in anyway. I was extremely unhappy with my 40 dollar manicure. I had to ask the lady to go all toward the end of my nail. If you are paying a lot of money to get them done by professionals then it should look professional. They took a tip out anyways when they didnt deserve a tip and I plan on filing fraudulent charges against this absolutely dreadful place!!!!

Well where do I begin.... I waited for 30 min for the nail tech to arrive to work. During the shaping of my daughters long stilletos turned into short stubs. Explained how they needed to be fixed... Eyes rolling she turns back to a co-worker and says something in her native tongue. Oh hell no..... told her to soak them off so we can leave. The music was the only good thing and the lovely lady that greeted us and talked with us while we waited. I would never recommend this place. Rude and disrespectful to their customers! I wouldnt even give 1 star but the remove doesnt allow to leave it without.

Way over priced. Went with a friend and her pedicure was completely different than mine and we requested the same type of pedicure. Had to ask to warm up water several times. Took way too long for nothing special.

Every single time I go in for gel nails..Im like there for 10 minutes the guy from the front always comes to Lilly and asks how much longer..this makes me very uncomfortable ..I nevercevet see him do that to any of the other customers.like hes trying to rush me out a there...I will never go back there.. Lilly is an awesome nail tech.she always takes extra special care of me...Im really gonna miss her..

Cut my nails to short and filed until my finger started bleeding. Spilt my ring finger nail a little filed it unevenly. They were very rushed and sloppy, (would not recommend!)

This is a great place but you have to know who to go to! Linh is amazing, shes very detail oriented and my nails always look awesome. I get so many compliments on my nails. If you cant get in with her, ask for Tal. Both ladies do a fantastic job and I wont let anyone else touch my nails or feet!

Quality meh...Ive had way better for much cheaper! Im not even sure how they arrived at the price. I chose the $28 pedicure, and had a gel manicure and it amounted to $71. Also, conviently my gift card wouldnt work so I had to pay the full amount.

I have been coming here for years. They do a wonderful job and they are all so nice.

**** here we are a few months later and its still awful here i really need to find a new place for pedicures.... lets pay now 45.00 for a glorified foot bath, it just keeps getting worse hereIve been coming here for some time its been hit and miss for a while, but I started seeing Van and Ive had no problems until today!!!! I had one of the worst pedicures Ive ever had I paid for the deluxe with is 35.00 what I got was a 20 minute footbath!!!! I had a 3:00 appointment with Van when I got there she was busy with another client so someone else took me. My toes look awful and they wont dry as the technician left lotion on my toes UGH. I will go back to only see Van if anyone else tries to take me back NO WAY

So if you are ever wondering if they are talking about you, they probably are...I understood ever word they said and they are not nice nor professional. Whether a customer can understand you or not, you should not talk about your customers so rudely!!! I would give a negative star if I could. Also want to mention that they seem to be under new management because I dont recognize anyone any longer??The gel pedicure was done poorly, uneven white tips and rushed services. This is not based on rude comments made early on. I wont be going back, sad because that place was my go-to when I had time for pedi mani but to many places to choose...

Rude and nasty people. They treat me like its an inconvenience to work on my feet. Every time I go in there they are unwelcoming. If you have a specific person that you regularly see, that individual is respectful, but the others are NOT. EVER.

Great place! I drive all the way from Bosque Farms! I have tried almost every salon in Los Lunas and nothing compares to Essense! Everyone is always so nice and helpful! I have been going to this place for 3 yrs with no complaints and will continue to drive in from Bosque Farms!

I cannot believe how UNPROFESSIONAL this place can be! It looks great from the outside, but I was so surprised how GROSS it was inside. I came in for a pedicure, and I was hounded by the woman who owned it and asked if I wanted any add-ons, but I didnt want any, nor could I afford their charges. The women and men who worked there proceeded to speak in their language which sounded like they were talking about me and glared at me LAUGHING! They cut my skin and nail too close, and now my big toe is constantly in pain because of an infection their pedicure caused me. I need to get it checked out now after reading the other review that she had FUNGUS problems after this place. I wished I had read all the reviews and did my research before comign to Essence Spa & Nails, but I thought from the outside it looked classy. Looks can be deceiving, as their service and quality LACKS CLASS!!

They chopped off my natural nails in hopes of selling me into fake nails. My nails look terrrible and they wouldnt fix them. They are super sarcastic as well, not a nice salon to go to.

Van is the most rude and unprofessional nail person I have been to and I have had solar and now gel nails over 40 years. Her attitude was sour from the moment i sat at her station. I walked out with broken nail to return another day to another person. She needs to find other employment that is not with the publuc.

I had been coming here for almost a year and got a pedicure the last time I went . Unfortunately, I received a bad pedicure that ended up giving me toenail fungus and 3 ingrown toenails. This was almost a year ago and I am still battling the fungus. This salon has really messed my feet up !

Always clean and has good service. It just wasnt good enough to make me switch from my current place.

Bad experience. the lady was rude, nails are uneven, and I paid with a $5.00 tip when the amount cleared my bank account they altered my receipt and added $10.00 giving a $15.00 tip to her. This is fraudulent activity and is not acceptable. When I went back to ask them about this they said it happens sometimes the tips get entered wrong. No acceptable response.

Dirty, cockroaches behind the couch in the waiting area. So much dust. Not friendly, waited way too long. I finally walked out.

They werent busy, but I waited 45 min to get served, then they had a child start my water, spraying me all over. I was so upset, I left & havent been back. I dont spend 60 dollars to be served by a child!
