Spoke to a woman named Jennifer regarding a payment that Sunwest failed to make on our behalf to another mortgage lender. Jennifer was rude and incredibly unhelpful. Ill me moving my account to another company as soon as possible and strongly suggest you not waste your time dealing with Sunwest Trust. If I could give zero stars I would.

Actually I would like to acknowledge the support I received from two employees of Sunwest Escrow. The first is Susan C who was instrumental in getting a modification to a REC revised correctly. She went the extra mile getting the appropriate people involved who ultimately got it right!Secondly, Rose B came to the rescue after I could not get the person responsible for making posting errors corrected. After several attempts to contact that individual, I left a VM for Rose. She was very quick to return my call and in a matter of moments had made all the necessary corrections needed. I was able to sleep that night.These two individuals, I believe, really do care about Customer Service and should be commended.End of story.

This is the most inept company I have dealt with. The first 20 years was awesome. I dont know whats happened in the office but no communication. They dont call back. Not helpful. Pretty salty. Im going with someone else on my next sell.

I used to be with security escrow I never had an issue reaching someone in regards to my escrow account. Once it sold to sunwest escrow I cannot get ahold of any one I have left several messages and nothing they don’t even have online access for the security escrow accounts, I didn’t ask to be switched to this company if I did I would of said no… This business is horrible!!!

Really disappointed how they have handled our account recently;( They had always been good before! My husband went in and took our taxes and insurance in pre covid. Went to look at the county website and the taxes were not paid. Then we went to give them copies once again and wanted to find out what was going on. The girl at the counter said that my husband didnt come in and bring it? Yes he did! Then went in on June 7th and brought the taxes and insurance again this time they stamped it. Checked this morning and taxes are still not paid and are now delinquent! Not sure what happened with this company but it has gone downhill for sure. Very sad! We have two parcel numbers attached to our property and have ALWAYS brought in the tax bill! Yet its somehow our fault that they are not paying it. Even though they raised our payment over 278 dollars a month to cover said bills! Apparently we have to pay our own bills so we know they are paid! Even though thats what they are getting paid for! Smh

They have one job: pay my taxes and insurance, and they failed at that. They bought out my precious escrow company, and asked for extra documentation to pay my insurance. I sent that to them, and they acknowledged they received it, and would pay my insurance. They did not pay, so my homeowners insurance lapsed. Now I have to get a new homeowners policy, and pay more than $500 more per year.Grossly incompetent doesn’t begin to describe this company.Take your business elsewhere.

Im relieved that Im not alone in struggling to work with this company. I too struggled with the miscommunication and ineptitude when it came to taxes and insurance. Twice theyve sent me back my payment that I just have to resend because they dont use math or good judgement. Sad.

My married name is Najar-Im in Moriarty.I have had issues with this company for about a year now, but I was trying to give things some time with the merger of Security Escrow and COVID.After reading other Google reviews and the Sunwest Escrows response to customer reviews, I thought I better add a review myself.I had been a Security Escrow customer for a couple of years before the merger, and they had been engaged in the same bad practices for some time before I became aware of these issues. Last year I was made aware of a shortage on my account and this was shocking as I had never missed a payment, and this was unexpected. I was given an Impound History Report and told that I would be working with Sunwest Escrow in the future because they had bought out Security Escrow. In the meantime I needed to produce $2000 to fix problems with my taxes and insurance. The History showed me the problem: for 2 years Security Escrow had only paid one of two tax accounts, and when they realized the problem they paid the bill and left my reserves account in shortage with no communication as to an issue that needed looking at.Fast forward to today-June 2021 my taxes and Insurance arent paid though there is plenty of reserve money.By reading user reviews here on Google I have learned from the Sunwest Escrows response to users:A:)It is the buyers responsibility to send Sunwest a bill for taxes and insurance. Sunwest did not take RESPONSIBILITY, but blames Kory.For me like for Kory it was not made clear in the take over that the new escrow company was incapable of paying taxes and insurance without the buyer, but it is clearly posted on their website. As I learned when Sunwest Escrow left a link on a users (Matts) experience when he was saying he is not RESPONSIBLE, but his customer is responsible.Sunwest responded to Allison that Sunwest Escrow has tens of thousands of accounts and it is impossible to monitor all of those accounts.Here are my questions:What are Sunwest Escrows Responsibilities to its buyers?I pay you $28 a month and $9 per check you issue, What am I paying for? Is the seller paying you? What is he paying for?What can I or he expect are your responsibilities and duties?Taxes are due every year between April 10 and May 10 AND November 10 and December 10. These bills are not sent to anyone. Are you saying that you need me to get a pdf and send them to you? You cannot remember that 100% of your accounts are due at this time? I am just trying to get a little clarity on the process so that I can be a better customer for YOU!In the contract we signed at title companies they had very specific requirements that stated the escrow company gets the insurance bill with the seller named as lien holder and all that. Many of your customers never get a bill because they are already automatically sent the escrow company. Is your policy indicating that in addition to the bill being sent to the escrow company automatically your clients need to request a special additional copy and notify you again?You said you had tens of thousands of accounts. Lets say its just 10,000. And lets say that you only collect monthly fees from buyers, and lets say they are all only the $28 I pay monthly. That would be $208,000 coming in a month, and you are telling us that it is impossible to pay the taxes and insurance on our accounts without our help?I am looking forward to your response.

This company is a headache! They failed to pay my property taxes on my account. No response when emails are sent for communication. When you do call, you speak to different people, get different answers each time. They dont return phone calls. And I have had huge delays in getting payments... upwards of over 30 days.

Recently, the representative messed up the seller and the buyers paperwork. She answered my questions totally out of context. Then she said that: I see the buyer was supposed to do the first payment on 2/19. However, the buyer as today has not received the contract! She sent the documentation to 1 out of three parts doing the transaction. Also when I called her (I am the seller) she wanted me to get an account to make a payment! Three week ago she was supposed to send me an email she never did it. The company has the champion of the mess! Impressive as frustrating.

We signed contract w/ Sunwest Escrow 5 yrs ago, 1yr in to the contract, we unknowingly got behind on 1 payment. We were never notified that we were late or that late fees were being tacked on each month for 4 yrs; (total of $3000 in late fees) until 4 months ago, when we requested a payoff quote w/ the anticipation of paying off our entire loan. We asked Sunwest if there was a way that we can settle this issue or meet somewhere in the middle being that we were never notified that we were even late. We were told that we had to contact the direct owner of the land that we had the contract w/ & settle it with them & that Sunwest is essentially the middleman. We reached out and unfortunately, they did not want to waive the late fees. To resolve the current issue at hand, we paid off the month that we were behind from 4 yrs ago that was setting us back on payments ever since. This got our payments back on track. We did this in hopes of getting a more clear vision of what our payoff quote would look like afterward & give us time to reassess what to do being that we were going to have to pay the extra $3000 in late fees that were tacked onto the end of our loan that, (I want to reiterate this) we were never made aware of. Within the next month, we were sent a notice from a lawyer stating that we were behind the CURRENT month & were requesting that we pay the month that we just, in fact, paid, as well as the $3000 in late fees as well as attorney fees. This was even before any grace period was even passed. (We would have loved a notice like this 4 yrs ago before the fees accumulated to be $3000) When we went to Sunwest escrow to figure out why we were behind the current month when we JUST paid it through mail, they stated that they didn’t receive our last payment & mailing payments is unreliable & it would be best to come to the actual location to pay. (which would have been great to know prior) They also stated that within our contract, if the owner wants to hire an attorney even the day after the payment ‘due date’, they are able to do so. (Which completely contradicts this “grace period” of theirs.) We were left scratching our heads time and time again. After talking to any of their associates we always ended up more confused than we were going in. We were never made aware of any activity within our account, and when we were finally made aware, we were basically told that they were the middleman and that we had to figure it out ourselves. Between the lack of communication, lack of responsibility, lack of clear explanations as well as the loss of payments in the mail, (which I have never had an issue with any other company), this was a very unpleasant experience. I am glad to have paid off everything & cut ties with this company. If only I had read the reviews prior. Could’ve, should’ve, would’ve.

I am shocked by some of the comments on here. I have not had any of these issues that any of them described. I have 3 accounts with this company and have never had an issue. Sure we have bad days, but they always find a way to get things fixed and correct.

I have been trying to make my first payment since last week. Today I was finally able to schedule a payment and its going to be late because of Sunwests website. This company is not professional and I am very upset that a company like this is handling my business. Its not my fault that their website doesnt work correctly. I will be calling my title company today and telling them what happened and that they should not be using Sunwest Escrow. This is one of the most important investments of my life. It has been a living hell trying to work with Sunwest Escrow. Since I am stuck with them I am very scared they are going to cause me to loose my property. I recommend that everyone else stay away from this company!: UPDATE,I finally had to go to their office to sort this out. The manager informed me that they would let the late payment slide this time as if it was my fault their website doesnt work correctly. Sunwest is very disrespectful and unprofessional. I highly suggest people stay away from this company!!!

This company has the worst staff imaginable. They spent 15 minutes arguing with me over my account payments just for them to realize they are discussing someone ELSES account information with me. After, I finally make my appropriate payment, they then mail it back to me. With a note telling me they need more money and will not accept my current payment unless the payment is made in full. First chance given I will gladly be taking my business elsewhere.

My first bad experience with SWT of Albuquerque happened when I first purchased my home 11 years ago. I sent them my property tax bill to be paid out of escrow and the woman I spoke with said, do we have to do everything for you? A few years back my property tax went unpaid and I got a phone call saying the payment was late. I called SWT and they gave no reason as to why it went unpaid, but they did pay it after I resent the bill.The next bad experience happened today, my home owners insurance company called to say it hasnt been paid and was due in Feb. I called SWT and I was told I had to send a yearly bill which I have never had to do and recieved no notice of this policy change. They dont seem to care when they pay bills late, but I certainly receive a late payment charge if my mortgage payment is late.

Went in and made a payment on the 10th of May and these people lost my check which put me into default. My mistake was that i did not get a receipt from them for the payment. Their response today when I dropped off another check was oh gosh which is very unperfessional.

Just found out they havent paid my property taxes...now i owe almost double due to interest and penalties...these people have not held up their end of the bargain, after they bought out my original escrow company...i am very unsatisfied and very upset with them. Plus, i get no response every time I call...

Horrible! If u can find a different escrow company do it. My insurance got canceled because they didnt pay it, when I gave them a check weeks ago and it was cashed weeks ago. Other ppl have had the same problem with these guys. They have no clue how to run thus company.

SUNWEST STOLE MY MONEY!! Do NOT use this company. Sunwest was the custodian of my investments. In April of this year, I discovered there were checks from my Sunwest accounts that were uncashed and expired, so the my money remained in Sunwest’s bank account. The staff at Sunwest (specifically, their VP Cynthia Archuleta) has told me numerous times both verbally and in writing that she was going to re-issue those checks. Five months later, they still have not re-issued the checks. Instead, they simply kept my money (that is, they stole my money). I have recently filed an official complaints against them with the Attorney General of New Mexico, the Better Business Bureau, and the Financial Institutions Division of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department and am filing a lawsuit against Sunwest (and Cynthia Archuleta personally) to retrieve the money they stole from me. Stay away from this company!!

Sunwest is the least consistent business I have ever worked with. I was with Security Escrow and paid it by check every 15th of each month. My taxes and insurance was paid automatically, Im forced to call and email to get these paid even though they withhold for these. Since getting absorbed, Id make a payment and it would take one to two weeks for it to go through my bank. Last month, the website had issues signing in etc. I got in thought I had paid it but the issues kept it from going through. A week later I called to make sure it wouldnt be two payments and made the payment without issues. My escrow agreement has for us to have a 10 day grace for it to be due. Of course, last month was when it took 2 weeks to go through. We received a letter to pay lawyer fees, late fees, etc. Called Sunwest and was told to disregard the letter and call the lawyer whose secretary was that voice saying we cannot talk with you. This month I decide to pay online a week early. It literally went through my bank the next day which it has not done in a whole year it has always been at minimum a week before going through my bank.

I have had nothing but trouble with this company. We continue to pay on time and then they will send back our payment giving excuses for not being able to accept It. Then we are not notified in a timely manner and their attorneys send a demand letter charging us $150 and another $50 in late fee even though we paid on time. Then we are given the runaround from their attorney and paralegal Ginger. They never call back because they have already stolen $200 from us.

My experience has been terrible. I needed to set up and escrow account for a business purchase and it has yet to be done. I have been working with them for over a month. It is taking so long because Anna does not return phone calls or respond to emails in a timely manner. I have left multiple messages on her voice mail and then a week later I will get an email. No phone call. I have now wasted a month and will start the process all over again with a different company.

This company is not worth the effort or time. Ive never written a google review and today I was inspired to do so. This company is unresponsive to email and phone calls. When I do get ahold of someone I get vastly different information depending on who I talk to.The information provided on their website is not up to date. Even my account portal has obvious errors and inconsistencies.I dont trust them, and you should not either.

1 star was as low as you can go. I pay the same amount the same time every month. Back in June we had inquired about paying on the principal. I wanted to do this once, and only when paying over the amount due.. So this my wife was injured and had all this stuff going on. We were late on our October payment. So when I called to let them know We were going to be late. To our surprise we were 2 months behind. They had put a payment for principal only. Which unknown to us made us late. I have never been late paying anything. EVER!!!!!! Not only would they not work with me to resolve this, they never let us know that we were late at all. I had to call them. they have never been there for us, and there is always something, that causes us to lose money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. They are either un-ethical or just don.t know what they are doing. I am coping and pasting this to anyone else who will listen. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
