Here is the review I left on Phorest. (Also, I was so upset with the cut itself that I forgot to mention the cleanliness... my hair was washed in a sink that still had other people’s hair on the neck rest...)I am so sorry but I really don’t like the cut. I wasn’t sure what to think about it in the salon because the dim lighting and the distance to the mirror made it really hard to see it properly, but now that I got home with a close mirror and bright light, I just hate it. The top of my hair looks like a solid block. As for the fade, I wanted one that didn’t “drop” too fast, but that was interpreted as non contrasted. In the end, there is so little contrast that I can hardly tell I have a fade at all, and the lines between the different lengths is very irregular. Even my neck doesn’t look clean nor symmetrical. The stylist said the bottom of it would be “not skin but nearly”, but it’s not even close... I was really looking forward to a fresh looking fade and am really sad with this result. Overall, not putting a 1 because right as I walked in Joseph greeted me in a way that really made me feel welcomed, which I really appreciated since I am trans and this was my first time in a men’s salon. But at the end of the day, even though I went to a men’s salon asking for a men’s haircut, the cut still looks very feminine to me, which is making me extremely dysphoric, and I’m honestly debating weather I should just shave my head all together...

He was met on a Thursday with champagne, a crudités platter and the best customer service by Nicole and Duly. We are so happy! When you pay almost 50 dollars for a head shave youd expect it to be well done. After leaving the place and looking in the mirror in my own bathroom, I discovered that patches of hairs were left behind my ears and on the top of my head. How hard is it to lather my head up and clean it completely with a straight razor? The guy who shaved my head was a pretty nice guy, but I was not impressed by the quality of his work. Worst 50 dollars I ever spent. Wont be coming back.

My brother told me bout this place a long while ago when it was 18|8, now Steel Blade, and I havent gone anywhere else and I live in Rio Rancho. Definitely worth the drive. Great experience coupled with excellent customer service! They have refreshments in their waiting room so you can relax before relaxing even more with a hot, or cold, towel! Each of the stylists has their own somewhat private and section so youre not staring at random people. Its quite nice. To top it all off their staff is very friendly and professional making me feel right at home. My hair has never looked better in my life! 11/10 would recommend!

Finally! A place that cuts my hair the way I ask for it. My hairstyle went out of style about 20 years ago, but all I had to do was show Elysa a picture of how I wanted it and she made it happen. Everyone was very polite, I hardly had to wait(I did make an appointment) and the prices are more than a barber shop, but they gave me the whole salon treatment and you get what you pay for. It was worth every penny. I will definitely be returning.

Dont waste my time. Made an appointment, showed up on time, only for them to take a walk-in that was literally in front of me. Despite having an appointment I was asked to wait. I did not, I left. Dont schedule appointments if you cant keep them or you plan on giving the time to any random that strolls in.

This was my first time at Steel Blade Men’s Salon and when walking in i was immediately greeted by a fiery and bubbly red head. She was very welcoming and that in itself was pleasant from other places. Shane was my barber and he greeted me instantly. He waxed my eyebrows first. And although a few spots were missed it overall looked amazing. And with the haircut. He listened to exactly what I wanted. I am always nervous to get my hair cut by someone new. But I already rescheduled my appointment with Shane. Overall amazing service, especially when you get the hot towel afterward, that was just a relaxing moment that was needed and appreciated. Even when getting checked out they were friendly and talkative. No products were pushed on me, but I did end up buying a pomade just because of how the product felt and dealt with my hair. It was just an overall great experience. It’s only been two hours since my appointment. And I’ve already made several referrals to all my friends.

I came here for my first short haircut in several years. I made an appointment and waited maybe 5 minutes after checking in. Everyone made me feel very welcome and I received a fantastic cut from Scott. Even though I was the last customer for the day, they pulled out all the stops and didn’t rush me through at all. They were also very considerate of customers wishing to keep masks on, and all of the staff wore them too. This place is on the pricey side but the service you receive is worth every penny. I’ll be returning and I’d recommend you give them a try!

Due to the stay at home orders I hadnt had a hair cut in almost 3 months. Brandie had no trouble cutting my literal mountain of hair. I have never had my hair so long and wasnt sure that I just wanted to hack all of it off right away so Brandie suggested that we cut it slowly and stop at a spot that i felt comfortable. She did a wonderful job and I cant wait to visit her again!

OMG! They were amazing! I was driving cross country. They took me in as a walk in (during COVID). My son waited-they offered him a beverage. My stylist was so friendly. Gave me a great cut. Elysa was a very personable stylist and, overall, it was the exact experience I was looking for. Haircut was great and exceeded expectations.

Every time I have been there for a haircut, I always left the salon feeling good about the cut. My only complaint is a gift card I received when 18 8 was still the active franchise owner. I tried to use the card after 18 8 declared bankruptcy, and unknown to me that 18 8 did this, but it was deemed worthless. I think out of good will, Stacy should of honored it anyway which she did not. Otherwise, a pleasant experience.

Theres a reason I come back to Steel Blade.T stylists are always courteous and professional, but in a very laid back kinda way. From what Ive seen, all the stylists do a great job, but I always go back to Stacey because she remembers the small things and makes the experience feel more relaxed. The environment is extremely inviting and the services provided are second to none. Ive spent years bouncing between the cheap haircut places because Im a guy and dont need the extra frills. But after one visit to Steel Blade, I realized that I could still enjoy a salon quality experience while maintaining my masculinity. Hats off to Steel Blade and all their stylists, the job they do is world class.
