What a tremendous community resource for the interests of gardeners. Besides wonderfully helpful people and a hotline for phone calls, they have a terrific shop and library. They also hold many community events and classes across a wide variety of related topics. They really combine and leverage a wealth of knowledge and resources. We are very fortunate to have this.

I just had my wedding here a few days ago and it was spectacular! :) The people with the Albuquerque Garden Center were super nice! They stayed in the background and would check in to make sure that everything was going smoothly. They answered any questions that we had that day easily and were super helpful! The garden center was beautiful! Easily fit over 100 people between the ceremony outdoor area and the reception indoor area. They were flexible with me and worked with me. I couldnt pass up the price either! I couldnt have asked for a more beautiful place and a more wonderful venue than the Albuquerque Garden Center for my wedding! :)

Annual garden plant sale. What a crush! Tons of people. Best part is you can get home-dug plants that are already used to our climate. Center also runs classes for gardeners. Good resource for Albuquerque.

Very peaceful place to come and enjoy the flowers. It is the best garden in the city in my opinion. Beautifully maintained with signage to tell you the names of the plants. A beautiful Asian tea house is just one of the things that beautify this garden. There is a cute little pond with fish as well.

I used this location for my wedding and was the worst place to have a wedding ceremony. Most of the guest and family only remember the staff (Debbie) being rude and dictating the whole event and constantly chasing down guest at the event with issues. We felt she was somewhat discriminating towards my family because of our race. She made us take out the bathroom trash and wipe down the bathroom counters. The venue has a kitchen but its non functional the sink was clogged and the refrigerator could no be used and we got blamed that we clogged the sink because of the food that was seved. The service was incredibly bad we ended our wedding a hour early and left with such disappointment that we had chose this place to have the wedding we had long planned for.

I just got married last night at this venue! The staf was amazing nothing short either they calmly talked with me thru out the event the security was super nice and would chat it up with everyone who had come the husband and wife working my event were almost ghosts and were kind and patient when it came to clean up! It was breathtaking to see all the live and happy plants all around! The music equipment worked wonderfully and the all around wedding was a masterpiece when came to execute. I would recommend this venue a thousand times more!!

We recently rented out the Albuquerque Garden Center (AGC) for my daughter’s wedding which included an outdoor garden ceremony, cocktail hour in the Japanese Pavilion area, and an indoor dinner/dance reception. Throughout the planning process, our point of contact, Laurie, was generous with her time and accommodating. We were able to repeatedly visit the venue to ask continued questions and map out details of how we would decorate and utilize the various spaces of the facility. She not only worked cooperatively with us, she and her staff coordinated well with the various vendors for food, beverage, music, décor, etc.The day of the event, we had all-day uninterrupted access to the venue from 9am-midnight which afforded us plenty of set-up and take-down time. AGC provided rotating staff to be on-site throughout the 15 hours, as well as two security personnel for the duration of the event itself. The AGC gardens and grounds are beautifully and painstakingly maintained, the large reception hall (Pinon Rm.) perfectly met our needs for the indoor portion, and the facility includes two different kitchen prep areas, small but well-appointed restrooms, and an additional room (Patio Rm.) with small counter and sink that served perfectly as a hair/makeup/dressing area for the bride and her attendants.Although we furnished our ceremony/cocktail hour/reception (i.e. round dinner tables, bistro tables, and padded garden chairs) primarily through outside rental companies, the AGC package includes access to stackable indoor chairs and rectangular folding tables should they be needed. Table linens are available for a nominal fee. In addition, the AGC made available for our use several painted wooden tables and benches that we used for purposes such as a memoriam table and the guest book.It should be noted that the AGC has some stringent guidelines in its contract related to safety and security which, though we tried to clarify the salient points with our guests the day of the event, still led to some confusion. The most impactful of these related to “traffic patterns” between various areas of the facility. Food/beverages served in the Japanese Pavilion must remain in that area. Likewise, food/beverages served in the Pinon Rm. must remain there. For our event, security personnel could only oversee one area or the other. Therefore, during the outside cocktail hour access out of the pavilion/garden area was literally locked. Guests could not exit the garden gate to the front parking area nor access the building at all (including restrooms) and, once we did allow indoor access, we needed to quickly vacate the outside area. Another contractual consideration is that disposal of all trash at the end of the night (including restrooms) must be gathered by the renters and disposed of in the parking lot dumpster. To their credit, the on-site staff the day of our event – Gigi, Brenda, and Debbie – were all personable and willing to help where they could, right down to lighting votive candles on the dinner tables and helping with trash take-out at night’s end. The security personnel were pleasant, as well – gracious in their reminders to guests who sometimes absent-mindedly would start to exit the reception hall with a cup of lemonade or piece of cake. Even one of the gardeners there on the morning of the event, Jen, offered up her heartfelt good wishes.

If you like being babysat and having your entire wedding dictated by a mean old lady, then this is the place for you. When I first booked here, the lady I worked with was nice and helpful. She had a little bit of nosyness to her (asked us over and over what we were planning to do, who we rented chairs from and if there was a dj or caterer. Even though this was all fill out on the contract), but more or less stayed out of our business, she really only seemed to be interested in making sure we were not planning anything that would negatively effect the garden or the building. So, I thought everything would go fine. HOWEVER, the day of the wedding, a new women, I had not met before, greeted us. She was going to be the one monitoring the event (that was fine. I knew and expected someone working at the venue to be monitoring it through out the entire event). But what I did not expect was to have her within 10 feet of me and my wedding guests at all times. She followed us everywhere. Hovered over everything we did. My photographers worked really hard to keep her out of my wedding photos. She, for some reason, also felt it necessary to try to dictate everything. She tried to tell me what direction to walk from for my wedding (even though the outside venue set up is not right for a proper entrance. If I did it the way she wanted, my wedding party and i would have had to walk around the whole building!) she got upset and treated me like i was an idiot for not wanting to walk the whole building, through gravel, in 4 heels when there was a perfectly usable door, that worked just fine for walking down the aisle. She kept saying thats not how they normally do it and rolling her eyes at me. She got worked up over the guests going into the reseption hall before the wedding ceremony, she felt she had to tell them they were not allowed to go in there to put gifts/food down, even though one of the groomsmen was already helping to direct people. Every time we would take chairs or such outside to set up, she would close and lock the door behind us! So we had to walk all the way to the back of the building to get back inside. It was ridiculous! The venue also has some vendors they make you use, so be prepared to have no say in who you have alcohal service from. The sound system is so terrible, dont even bother paying the $50 to use broken speakers. The venue is beautiful. But there were so meny restriction that it made it difficult to have an event there. Not the place for small children! And the staff is so controlling and mean. Even though she was way to involved with everything we were doing, the lady monitering the place, apparently did not care that ramdom people kept walking in on my private event. She was showing random people around the venue during my wedding. She did nothing to stop them, she was fine with letting them walk right through my privet event i paid for! The staff will try to ruin any plan or vision you have of your big day, and treat you like youre stupid if you diagree with them. The rental price was good for our budget, but the hassle the staff put us through was not worth it! If i could do it over, I WOULD NOT hold my wedding here.
