I hired them to clean up some maple trees that were hanging over my property in the backyard. The job took about 2 hours and Joe was able to fit me into the schedule very quickly. Overall it looks much better and open back here.

I called and explained my need for a tree to be pruned or removed. He said he would stop by before it gets dark to take a look and get me an estimate. We cancelled plans to meet him. He never showed. We tried to text and call and got no response. Who does this still in this day of instant communication? A text is all it would take to say, Cant make it. 3 days later and still no word. Too bad.

Very large willow came down onto the driveway blocking access. After trying for 3 days to get someone to come, we called Albany Tree Service. Joe came out that morning and cut away the blocking branches, which were large, heavy and numerous. The drive was cleared after 5 hours on a hot day. We would recommend this company without hesitation

I was lucky enough when I called Joe that he was in the area doing an estimate. (He had done our honey locust tree before and was familiar with it.) He came right over and discussed what we wanted for the trimming and his suggestions. He is very knowledgable and cleans up well after the trimming. He also is very reasonable. I would recommend him.

Joe Stevens did an amazing job on a tree in the front yard of my property. I had to opportunity to observe his careful work first-hand, as I was doing landscaping in the backyard while he trimmed this tree in the front yard. Joe did every step from bid to cleaning. He quoted me at $500 and tentatively said that he would do the job on Wednesday. Joe arrived at the house 5 days earlier and got it done on a Saturday! He created a beautiful canopy effect in the middle of the tree. He also trimmed tree limbs that were encroaching on the house so that those were no longer a concern. Joes work was excellent, I have 3 giant pine tree next to the house, he came within a week, excellent skills and very detail driven. This is especially precious because some company put me into waiting list till August or September. By the end he show me some metal wire under the tree hole and told me these needs to be removed before I can plant new trees, and he came back and did it. Joe is very knowledgable and very tidy. My experience was excellent reasonably priced service on my property today. Joe did various tasks in my garden, trimmed shaped and cut dead matter from a privet hedge, and worked on my lilac and hemlock trees.He appears to had a lot of knowledge of maintaining tees, and other garden matter. I like that he is very direct in stating what he thinks the needs of the project are. Also, I like the he recommends the use of organic fertilizers, etc, in place of chemical use in the garden, not like many of his competitors do. And the cleanup was great. I will definitely use Albany Tree Service again, and will recommend them to others.

I requested Joe look at my Pear Trees and he promptly looked them over and gave me an honest assessment on the state of their health. The trees had been pruned and fertilized by another tree service which did a poor job and not very reliable. The tree limbs were brushing along side the house and more critical brushing the roof top. Joe from Albany Tree was contacted to trim our crab apple tree that was very poorly and improperly trimmed by another tree company in the recent past. He was very personable and explained that the tree had been trimmed like a bush rather than a tree and fully and completely explained what he would do to get it better balanced and growing like a crab apple tree should grow. He performed the job on time as promised and made it look very good. He also did an excellent job of cleaning up after himself after he finished which is a trait that I put high on the list of things to look for in a good contractor. Joe and his crew showed up when they said they would. They limbed up an overgrown tree, removed an old tree that was almost dead, and one that was leaning precariously. They ground out the stumps for both of the trees and left the yard neater than when they arrived. Joe explained that the large tree will live a long time, barring any future storm damage, and that at its age wont need any limbs trimmed for about 5 years. Great Service!

Looking for an arborist, we stumbled upon this website. I contacted the owner by phone about our diseased fruit tree. He asked the appropriate questions and proceeded to diagnose the problem and gave us thorough instructions on how to remediate the problem ourselves. Called Albany Tree to evaluate and possibly trim two large silver maples (3 and 4 circumference). Concerned about tree deterioration and future storm damage from falling limbs. Wanted to try to preserve the trees if possible, because our town can remove them, but not trim. Joe responded promptly to my call. Told him the town would take down the trees but not try to preserve. He gave thorough, understandable, and credible explanations of why the trees were unsafe and why they should be taken down. He gave advice as a professional arborist, not as someone trying to impress you or win a job. He spent over half an hour (plus travel time) looking at the two trees plus others on the property, again with valuable comments and insights.
