If i could give 0 stars i would. I was driving through Albany so I thought id stop by. I parked and went in. Not even 2min into being INSIDE I get YELLED AT by the staff at the counter saying nooooo were actually closed, just now.The sign was on saying open, obviously the door was open if i was able to walk in. But as soon as the ladies saw me they start yelling... instead of saying sorry were closing etc. Not YELL at the customer and just be straight nasty and rude. It wasnt even 6pm yet and there was plenty of people inside and people had just walked in but we were the ONLY ones being told to leave.Customer service is horrible, they way they talk to their customers is very rude and degrading.

Terrible experience. Ive been a regular customer, and I dress respectably. Im courteous in most all my daily interactions. Ive worked retail and customer service for over a decade so I understand service and all of the nuances of every different type of customer interaction. Ive had bad experiences there in the past, but nothing worth a negative review online. As a rule, I dont write reviews like this. That said, Ive not been treated with such disrespect in any store Ive ever been to. I will not be back, and I will no longer refer any business their way.

I dont get some of the other reviews staying they charge almost full price or used items.Out of all the 2nd hand stores this one is one of the best. Great prices on everything. Clothes, books and dinnerware.Good quality stuff that you wouldnt know was used.Great staff as well. Always friendly. Unlike goodwill who accuses you of changing the prices on items.

I do not recommend coming here unless u want to pay full price for stuff that is broken or really worn out! Tried to tell them they are charging full price for stuff and the lady up front with missing teeth tries to make up lies DO NOT COME HERE

The staff are friendly and the place is decently clean. Thats where the fun stops. Overpriced furniture for a thrift store, quite a few items are just dirty, and the selection is often very small. Overall good staff, clean floors, bad thrifting.

Used to buy my furniture from them all of the time but went in yesterday and my jaw hit the floor. Prices on furniture that was donated is at close to retail. Dont bother with them... if youre going to pay those prices then go buy new instead.. I know Im not going to. Done !

Selling a visibly dirty tec hiking backpack for the same price as new - I looked up the exact model, which is still sold online, and it was $60 either way.Lots of overpriced shirts for 5-6 bucks, used looking, that should have been $2-3. Then the boutique area is even higher priced, even if the piece is worn looking, totally dated, and stretched out.

Very disappointed that this company chooses to harass their customers about the style of mask they wear. I do not want to be controlled which is exactly what this policy is about!

Really good book selection and decent prices for those. I’ve found some cool oddities there on occasion. Used furniture is priced at “new” retail price, though, so I don’t even bother looking at any of it anymore. I took off one star because I normally donate items to Goodwill since it’s closer to me but a couple months ago I decided to donate a writing desk to St.Vinnies and the woman I interacted with there was so rude about it I’ll just keep donating to Goodwill.

Scammers who sell broken garbage and then refuse to accept returns. They like to lie about things being tested, and then act like they are sorry after they refuse to help you.Stay away from this garbage business.

I don’t browse a used shop to purchase used beat up items at retail prices. There was a incomplete table set for about $400 and a couch set for nearly $3000. It appears the management has changed for the worst. I would love to see how much this company actually donates. Seems like another greedy Goodwill to me.

They are friendly, and somewhat helpful. With that said, they arent really willing to work with you on prices. Furthermore they seem too over price many items. Id give them a hi C+ for overall shopping experience.

Very well organized and clean but the high prices were too much for me and I left without buying anything. A further sour note is that any item considered valuable has a special sticker which never gets discounted. And it would be nice if prices for the books were clearly stated.

I have shopped here several times, specifically for jeans, shorts, summer dresses, and tees/tops. I have never left disappointed. The staff are wonderful, and they are great about ensuring the quality of the items they sell. I love that its easy to find the prices, and its convenient that there are straight forward prices displayed for each clothing item grouping (shirts, pants, sweaters, etc...)I called a few months ago to ask if they were accepting pianos, and whether they offered home pick up. I was told that they were accepted based on their current inventory, and was put on hold briefly while she checked on the policy, inventory, and made sure she was giving me accurate information. The customer service is excellent, and I really appreciate how kind they were to me on the phone, as well as in person.The store is clean, well organized, and has fitting rooms available, and very helpful, friendly staff.

A great selection of goods and fantastic customer service! I donated an old computer and about an hour later realized I needed a couple files off of it. They let me come, pick it up and get the files and return the computer the next day.

Heres what I saw~ multiple pairs of worn out shoes at $30+.~Furniture priced as though it were brand new.~Found a couch I had been wanting a long time, it was priced higher at Vinnies than it was brand new at a furniture store.~Really, other than books and toys everything is wildly overpriced.~Lastly, I watched an older women, working the register, yell and scream at her coworkers, throw things, stomp, and slam items down because she had to ask for a void. Her customer looked shocked and quickly left.The only upside to this place is the book section.

It was awesome! My husband is starting a new job and asked me to see if Costco had any Polo shirts. They didnt, I was hoping to be able to buy 1. I then thought about St. Vincents and was able to buy 6 plus donate some cash for the needy.,. spent 25.00 total. Cashier was great too!

Terrible prices, unrealistic expectations on pretty much everything except clothing and books. These people think that they are going to sell stained up, raggedy, no name brand sofas for $2,000, their electronics are broken and priced stupidly, forget about small kitchen appliances like coffee machines and about every other kind of device.They are out of touch with the market and know nothing while thinking they know everything. One look in their display cases says it all, they are filled with counterfeit purses, broken camera lenses, fake autographs, and torn up items in terrible condition priced the same and more than eBay items in perfect condition.Avoid this place at all costs, its a rip off and not worth the gas it takes to drive there.

Very friendly staff and very helpful. Large book, records, and cd selection. Check out the clothing areas too. They also have a large selection of refrigerators and freezers. There selection of furniture is good but can be a bit pricey on some items.

Wow. The place is huge, well organized, bright,and they have everything you want. Chairs, houseware, clothing, books, records, decor, chairs, bags, pictures, furniture, halloween, tons of new stuff too (upscale furniture & decor), shoes, and did I say chairs? oh my! And prices are reasonable considering thrift prices have been on the rise for years. Staff is friendly and efficient.Only 1 con: not enuf junky jewelry.

Not as high priced as some second hand stores. They have a lot more room for furniture. Sometimes the prices do not reflect the product but if you have time to look you can find great value.

This store let me fill out a form for emergency assistance. The deacon and his wife from Saint Marys Catholic Church came out to my home to evaluate my needs. They gave me a voucher to get a bed and some other items at the store. The bed wasnt very comfortable but atleast it was something to sleep on. Thank you Saint Marys for your support. Also, while shopping at this store I bought a juicer. When I got it home, I couldnt figure out how to put it back together. So I took it back to the store and they were very helpful. Several employees worked to help me figure out how to put it back together. It was like putting together a puzzle because there were so many parts.

Im not allowed to shop. Not because l did anything wrong its because of there company policy. A family member of an employee who they live with can not shop unless the store manager is in the store. Since I work the same hours of the manager of this store, Im not able to shop. Do you think that any other business has this policy? I dont think so. All other business want your money, so they welcome you to come shop whenever you are available, not when the store manager is available. The customer is the one handing over the cash not the store manager.

Despicable company/bad people. My family recently moved to Albany. We donated 3 boxes of nice kitchenware to this location late afternoon last Sunday. That same evening, we realized that we accidentally put the cord to our frier into the donation box. I drove down within 5 hours of original donation and requested the cord back. I was told that the cord was processed and put into the bin to be priced. I walked over to the bin and was told: Youre not allowed in there. Once its been processed and put in the bin, its too late. Come back on Tuesday and you can BUY IT back. And I did go back on Tuesday to buy my cord back but no one could find it. I will NEVER donate to this greedy/despicable company again! Saint Vincents Society is FAR from saintly!

I love st vinnys! They give you a coupon when you donate things and their prices are reasonable. Way better than goodwill prices.

Massively overpriced, and half the electronics are broken, yet claimed to be tested.Corroded and exploded batteries in almost everything that takes batteries, items not even plugged in to test the most basic functions, games and puzzles with the boxes trapped shut so that you cant even check them.Things priced higher than retail, dirty store and not worth the time it takes to drive there.Employees not knowledgeable about the things they price and so they just throw on any price tag, usually at 3 times the items value.I will not be returning.

They really need to re-think the prices on home furn./rugs and specialty items. They are priced so high somethings have been there months. Lower it to reasonable SECOND HAND price and keep stuff moving...youll get less complaints and make more money for all the programs you say you fund.

For a store that gets everything for free the prices of their items are outrageously ridiculous. I saw a pair of shoes they wanted $14.99 that I can get at Fred Meyers for $18.99 brand new. They really overpriced everything. If they have some jeans they called designer jeans they want almost as much for it as you would pay for brand new. I know that they are helping drug addicts homeless and other groups however thrift stores are named thrift stores for a reason. You go there looking for a bargain and instead they want to charge you almost retail prices.

Better then Goodwill but still higher prices then expected and we went in and they only had one washer to 7dryers and there were very high priced for being so old of units. And the cloth ha! Its definitely for like one or two types of people for cloths and shoes.

We have visited here multiple times. Usually the staff is decent but not tonight. We were basically accused of switching sale signs, due to their clerical error, and treated as such. Then we were rudely told how to transport our items.

Ive walked out of this place multiple times because of their prices. Especially the furniture. 1200 dollars for a cheaply made USED sectional couch with stains on the cushions?? 500 dollars for a USED 4 piece wicker patio set I could buy brand new for 300. I just cant wrap my head around the prices and how they can justify it. Ive seen items in here that have been there for at least 2 years and the price is still the same. Get a clue! Want to move INVENTORY?? Mark the junk down. Ive been in here at least 100 times over the years and have bought something maybe 5 times. As of yesterday when I saw the 500.00 Dollar junk patio set and the 999.00 leather loveseat , That was it for me. I wont be back. EVER!

Service is mediocre and prices just seem to get higher and higher at all the St. Vinnies. Its a thrift store not a Potters Barn. I like to come in and find great deals and they just seem to be hard to come by any more.

Im appalled at the prices here. My mom and I stopped by to look at the furniture. FORGET IT. They had a fabric chair there for $399. Um..... Let me wipe my eyes and look again. Yes, I said THREE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE. Then we wandered over to the dressers to find them priced at $200+. Are you kidding me, people? You get this stuff for free. I thought this is supposed to be a place to shop when you cant afford full retail prices?.... Greedy greedy.
