We have been working with Modern Press for about two years, Patrick and his team are very professional. The fast response time is what I like the best about them. Last Wednesday, 1pm, I asked Patrick of a concept to create 4”x7” cards for handouts, I had the proofs by 4pm that afternoon. So to say the least we are very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them.

After having spent the better part of a week back and forth via email with the owner of this establishment we agreed on a price for the job, and I sent him a PDF of my project. The project as is contains queer content - cartoonish playful illustrations of men together. After two hours and no reply I called the print shop and they said he was out of the office. I finally received an email reply from him of simply No Thanks. to which I responded asking for clarification. After an hour, no response. I then decided to call the place again, and explained to the owner that I was confused by his email and wondered if he could elaborate. He simply said No Thanks and hung up the phone. I called once more, got him on the phone again and he repeated, No thanks and hung up once more. I called back a third time - remaining very professional, and simply inquired what about the document he was seemingly opposed to printing and if he could clarify if the business had any content restrictions for print work. He replied with a laugh, I know it when I see it.... no thanks and hung up the phone for the third and final time.My understanding of a print shop is that their job is to print, not judge the content being printed. I wish I could have had a longer conversation with the owner about why, but as I havent been able to get more than a few words out of him at a time before getting hung up on Im going to assume it is on some kind of moral or religious grounds. I will not be giving this business my money anytime soon, and feel deeply offended. I would urge anyone in the area who cares about equality, or freedom of speech and press to do the same.
