Last week, I brought in my ailing old computer and my new computer, so that all of the data from.the old computer could be transferred to my new computer. Everyone, especially Elise,, Katelyn and Dylan were exceptionally helpful. Not only are the staff very friendly and accommodating, but they went out of their way, to allay my concerns regarding the risk of my old computer crashing during the data transfer. I am so glad that I entrusted Liberteks with a project that was very important to me. They are very knowledgeable and their prices are also reasonable.

Please think twice before going there specially for DATA recovery service. They dont have clean room facilities or expertise to recover your data. They will take $190 upfront money with vague promise (named as data diagnostic service), where they dont even know the basic data recovery tools or software. Think twice before loose your money, Please be aware about this facilities.

I used this place for computer repair and assistance for years since moving to the area in 1994. Always had excellent and reasonably priced service. However, the main technician I relied on is no longer there, and the current people do not know what they are doing. My videocam in the monitor was not working, and they ran a standard diagnostic that found nothing and cost over $100. A technician then connected an external camera and that worked, so the problem was in the monitor and unfixable. They should have done that first. I asked for a partial rerfund but the office manager refused. Unless you can tell them precisely what they should do, I suggest going somewhere else.

I brought my crashed external hard drive into the store to see if they could recover the data from it. The guy who did my intake explained that it will be $162 due today. I asked if that is a flat fee if they are successful or unsuccessful. He said it was. I asked in there would be any additional fees, he said no. He said if they have to mail it out if they can’t figure it out then it would be extra. I told him to not mail it out without first calling me to approve or not approve. He also asked if I wanted them to put the files on a hard drive which would be extra. I said no and asked if I could bring my own hard drive to transfer the files. He said yes. I asked if I should just bring it at a later date to do that and he said yes. He told me it would take 10-12 days.On day 14 I still hadn’t heard back so I called. The guy who answered didn’t know what I was talking about and had to call me back. Another call where the guy seemed confused about what I was asking. At this point I lost the tiny bit of confidence I had with this place. He called back a second time and said they recovered my files and I asked can I bring my hard drive at 3pm the next day to get my files. He said yes.I arrive the next day to be told by the store manager that it will cost me another $75 to transfer files to my hard drive. I refused to pay and told him nobody said anything about a hidden data transfer fee. He said then I couldn’t have my files I paid $162 for them to recover. I was so upset and he admitted it was possible his staff neglected to tell me 2 different times there was this hidden fee. He offered to charge me $50 not $75 for the error. Had I known upfront it would cost $237 not $162 I would never have hired this shady company. I am skeptical and think this is a normal predatory practice of this place

I have a MacBook Pro Laptop that was purchased sometime in 2013 and am fortunate that it has given me few problems over the years. But with all the wear and tear including the constant pounding on the keyboard, problems are going to be as inevitable as the tides down the road. Quite a while ago the number 8 key had stopped working completely, and I put off getting it repaired for a very long time considering that I am afraid to trust a stranger with such an important device that is critical to my work at a human service agency as well as my career as an author. I tried my absolute best to live with the problem until I realized how many times I actually need to use the number 8 in my writing and always remembering to bring an external keyboard at all times was becoming a real burden. At long last I gave up and prayed that Liberteks Digital & IT Services would treat my device with care and not do anything to harm the data. I was not disappointed at all. The new keyboard was shipped from California and when it was delivered in about a week they were able to complete the installation in only two hours. I am now happily writing this review in the store itself courtesy of the awesome Wi-Fi service. The entire keyboard works like a dream and the number 8 key is now perfect. I wish I had taken care of this a very long time ago if I had known how simple the solution would be with this business. Even though there are definitely Apple Stores around, I would not hesitate to once again do business with the Liberteks and was even personally contacted by the companys president in a non-mimeographed letter thanking me for doing business with them the first time I visited. On a more personal note, I live with Aspergers syndrome. It has always been and always will be a struggle getting used to new places and cannot handle it when someone is impatient or condescending. Therefore, customer service is always just as important as the end result of the repairs. I was not disappointed by the courtesy and reassurance that everything would be alright. It is important to support efficient independent retailers as this one and hopefully you will also think about entrusting your devices with their expertise, too. Many people only write these reviews when something bad happens at a business but it is nice to also do it when there is a good experience!

We brought our Aloha POS Server computer to be repaired after the hard drive crashed, they fixed it, and we paid for it, but then when we got to the restaurant it was having issues. Our Aloha Tech who logged in remotely to re-configure the Aloha folders said there is still issues with the new hard drive and Windows installation and our POS system would not work, (we did have the old hard drive cloned so it could of carried over the same issues) anyway, We brought the computer back to them and after they spent 3 days trying to again fix it they just gave us a new computer, transferred the Aloha files with the original specs that the Aloha POS system required. We paid for a repair so we can get a working computer, and one way or the other they made it happen for us. They were all very nice and courteous, next time something breaks, well be back!!!

I have a broken external harddrive that I wanted repaired. I called ahead to ask for a estimate on the cost of repairs. I was informed there is no way to give an estimate without physically bringing in the drive and giving them 15 minutes to look at it. So I drive 30 minutes in to the store from Schenectady and before the drive is even out of the box they tell me it will be at minimum $150. Why couldnt they provide this info over the phone? If they had told me I would not have driven in. What a waste of my time and a shady business practice... Forcing people to make the trip probably hoping theyll just leave their items.

My MacBook Air suffered some water damage and was not powering up. After visiting the Apple store I was convinced Id need to buy a new MacBook and unsure whether my hard drive could be recovered. Liberteks told me there were no guarantees and the process could take a week, but within two days I got a call from Bill, who delivered the good news: Not only was my computer up and running again, but the hard drive was fully intact. Thanks Bill and team for saving the day!
