Great over all. Awesome service. Everything was installed and corrected perfectly. I love every staffs attitude and the prices are very fair. I was having loads of trouble with my bike and even though they were on a time crunch, they fixed it with perfection. I will definitely go here for every bike trouble and questions from now on. Just a great place.

The staff is so incredibly helpful and kind. Mike and the other staff members are incredible, I’ve come in to get gear before and once came in to get some help dismantling my bike before shipping it. 10/10 service and friendliness. I 100% recommend this place

I recently stopped by Bikes on Solano and had one of the most amazing customer service experience I have had in a bike shop! Ian talked with me at length about all things bike. Even questions I thought may have been stupid, he answered without batting an eye. If you are considering stopping by for maintenance or buying a bike, do so.

Walked in on my lunch break to buy a pair of lights for my bike. Was greeted by the owner who immediately helped me. Very pleasant and quick experience. I reccomend stopping by.

The one person in the shop was on the phone, never acknowledged us, 10 minutes later we left. It wasnt bike business.

Mike and his crew keep my commuter bike and cargo kid hauler running and safe. Has helped us fit the right bike to a growing kid and has options for all levels of cyclists. Open during COVID-19 shelter in place as an essential mechanic service. Love my local bike shop.

I am dealing with Solano Avenue Cyclery.I just wanted to express my thanks to them forassisting me in placing a bike in the hands ofa needy person. Nice to do at Christmas time.However, I also need to say that they need toaccept phone calls.I had to get the person to travel a great distanceto finalize the deal and I couldnt reach them by phoneto confirm this meeting.Otherwise they are good people.

Mike arranged getting parts to upgrade my bike. Travis did the install and even let me observe. Very friendly, patient, and knowledgable staff. Glad to have such a great bike shop right around the corner.

This bike shop is great. I took my bike in and they stopped what they were doing to look at my bike, veru patiently explain in detail what the problem with it may be with no sense of rush in the world. I was clearly ready to spend a lot more if necessary but they recommend only what I needed to get it back on the road. This is definitely a bike shop of integrity. I highly recommend them.

This place is AMAZING!! Im new to the area and came nearby for an interview next door. Not only did Mike offer to watch my bike for me, he pumped my tires and oiled my chain and adjusted my crooked breaks and reccommended other places in the area that may need employees. WOW!! The people here really care and Mike was fantastic.He lightly mentioned my Saddle was cracked as well, and you can guess where Ill be getting my replacement. :)

Amazing service! I came in for a helmet and a new chain for an old bike. Mike not only put in a new chain, he adjusted and tightened the brakes, added air to the tires, cleaned off the gears, and helped fit my helmet. He also took the time to answer my questions and share his wealth of knowledge. I’m excited to explore the area on my ‘new’ ride and glad to have this shop in the neighborhood. You can get your tires pumped and chain lubed for free here too. I’ll be back if my bikes needs some TLC!

I have an old beat up bike. I needed a kick stand. He had it & OFFERED to install it free. It took 5 minutes. I was so impressed with his cheerful helpful attitude that I asked him about about a more comfortable seat. I passed on it since its old bike. I am restoring another bike. I probably will buy the seat for it. I also asked him about a lock since I lost the key to my lock. Again, largely due to his presentation, I bought the best one he has. He installed it for free. He is Mike, the owner. I will be back!Update:I have been back many times. I bought a new bike (Jamis CItizen 2) & LOVE it. I told him my needs & he sized me up & picked a good bike for me.I also bought a few accessories. A mirror which was ok but I didnt like how it fit my bike SO HE TOOK IT BACK. A tire & tube for an older bike. Etc. He answers questions with complete details & doesnt just gloss over a question. He knows a lot about bikes.

Hey there, I love this shop and the guys there. I got a really fast service on my rear wheel, which had a free hub problem... long story short; I am on a bike packing trip from Seattle to San Diego and suddenly while driving downhill, the free hub was not free wheeling anymore. So, I did bring it first to a shop in Berkeley (performance bicycle) and they told me that the axle was bend. I could not believe it and did feel a bit wrong advised and it seem to me like a rib off. But I kept the wheel there anyway because they were saying it could be fixed over the warranty which I still had on this wheel set... (bought them in Germany two month ago). So later on Paul the manager called me and telling me that this wheels are a bad quality (Mavic Aksum) and he really don’t like this brand. He said, that he is a wheel builder by himself I should buy a new one instead... well, this actually proved the bad reviews for his bike shop chain. I took the wheel back and brought it to the next one (missing link) and they told me it just need some oil inside the hub. They called me later the day and said it’s ready to pick up. I took it home and made a test ride. It failed again just on the first few meters... finally I brought the wheel to Mike at Bikes on Solano and here you go; he said it’s not really an issue and fixed it. He told me to bring also the bike in so he can check it thru and adjust everything... wow!!! I was so amazed by his rapid service (he wanted not even get paid for this) that I had to buy some stuff in his shop to not feel bad for not paying for the repair of the wheel. This shop and it’s Bicycle Mechanics is awesome and I highly recommend them to everyone who loves honest people with an amazing skill set!Thanks guys for your honest work, you made it happened that I can go back on the road so quick!THANKS!!!

They are the best Mike the owner of the shop allowed me to help out at his shop and I learned a lot about bikes.

You know the jerks who wear fake team jerseys when they ride Sunday mornings? Yeah, well this is their home. They have mucho dweebish road biker attitude here, and yet not a lot of expertise. They couldnt even size my tire correctly.Ill take the extra few miles in the future and go to performance over on University - cheaper, more knowledgeable, and they actually seem to want to help me keep my bikes on the road. Tried to shop locally and non-chain, and once again Albany dissapoints...
