So, please take this review seriously!! As this was an eye opening thing for me. I went to this auto works shop because my Mercedes was jerking randomly while driving .. so they charged 250 $ for diagnosis! Which is ok , however, I was told that it has a transmission issue which is gonna cost me 2500 $ to fix , I didn’t have the time to leave my car and just took the car home , I got a second thought and took my car to a different having them same problem because I was skeptical about believing that it’s the transmission as i didn’t have such symptoms in my car , long story short , the new mechanic fixed the problem with the fuel pump for 350 bucks and scanned they transmission twice confirming no issues with transmission or any other problems whatsoever!!!

They are professional and provided quality service at a reasonable price. I took my car in for a diagnostic test because my brakes, 4x4 and ABS lights were all showing on my dashboard at the same time. They ran the diagnostic test and the motor in my transfer case was going out. They were able to replace it and have my car back to me within a cpl of hours.

I chose Berkeley Motors after finding them in a Google search. I spoke with several repair companies, but I was most impressed with the thoughtful questions and professionalism when I called in.Additionally, my initial service - oil change and side mirror replacement were done well and timely at a fair price. Since the initial services I’ve returned for brake services. (I think that’s really the best measure of how I feel; returning for additional services.)Everything was again great; now this is my go-to for any service needs. Everyone at the shop is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful too. I highly recommend Berkeley Motors.

For my new used Mbz Berkeley Motor Works recommended that I change all the fluids and check all moving and greased everything. I took the car to a less expensive all Mbz mechanic elsewhere and had all that work done. Afterward I heard a tiny whine in my transmission. Eventually I came back to BMW and they have now replaced the transmission fluid that was a strange color with proper Mbz transmission fluid. Mike joked, You think a good German auto mechanic is expensive, until you try a bad German auto mechanic. Unfortunately my transmission still whines, but hopefully it will not suffer further damage. Thank you Berkeley Motor Works.

I wish I could give Berkeley Motor Works 10 stars! I drove from OR to the Bay and as soon as I arrived, my clutch and electrical system both burned out! The crew at BMW couldn’t have been more helpful, communicating every step of the way, and even sent my part across country to get refurbished when a replacement for it was on global back order. I consider them the unsung heroes of the Bay Area!

He also explained that the owner, Mike was also available to answer questions.The online booking system is extremely efficient, and the reminders received via text message is helpful for busy individuals.While this shop is on the main strip among other competitors, the vibe I got was that these two do honest and efficient business.

I bought a 2004 BMW X5 from a private party and took it to Mike and the team for a thorough diagnostics. Long story short, the vehicle had some terrible issues. Thanks to Berkeley Motor Works, the immediate and most serious problems were repaired, and my wife and I drove the car up to Los Angeles from the Bay without a glitch Mike and his team are the consummate repair professional.

Just had my BMW (13 328i) in for an oil and transmission fluid change. Without being asked, they inspected my brakes and tires for free. Mike and Scott were very professional, engaging and a pleasure to do business with. Would recommend to anyone with a roundel emblem on their hood.

Straight forward and honest repair of my 97 BMW that needed a fair amount of work to make it a reliable commute car.

I am very disappointed with this shop I should have checked any reviews on this repair facility first before taking my car to them , my story is simple I took the 300 d that had a vacuum leak still does I have done a lot of home work on this issue,so I ask them to look for leaks with the pump and lines also I told them where I suspected the problem was passenger side door front , they kept my car for 7 days with very poor communication I was calling them the whole time to follow up with the situation on my car only to find out that they only replace one vacuum sensor that’s behind the steering wheel that cost $35 and they charge me $448 in labor for that and finally they said I need a vacuum pump when initially the said the V pump was fine which was a concern for me from the beginning pick up my car still has a vacuum issue after I paid a total of $523 out the door with a car that Still has the same issue going in they are not trustworthy I will not go back to them they send me this survey so I am expressing my feelings people need to believe in bad carma it always would come back at you.Do right by people if want life to do right by you.

What a treat to find people who are as passionate about my cart as I am. I have had my 91 E30 for 23 years now, putting over 180,000 miles, on top of the 40k she had when I picked her up back in 95. Over that time you can imagine how many sub par shops I have been though. After yet another sub par experience with a mechanic in SF, I found myself without an expert to work on my baby. She disintegrated to a dangerous level. After finally getting a great recommendation to the guys at Berkeley Moter Works we began the restoration. First we got her safe again. This last visit, we got her fine tuned again. Amazing!! She drives like she did 20 years ago, possibly better.These guys get it. They have the passion for the cars they work on. It is quite obvious that they are not just banging out the work to get to the next car. The Old Man who works on my E30, used to race them. He has been working on E30s for over 30 years. They understand that these cars were made to last a lifetime (unlike everything made today). They know that we can get another 23+ years out of this car if we take care of it. Bad service at its finest. They lie, and break parts, unplug sensors to make the engine light go on and the car seem like its broken. They are not trustworthy mechanics and the owner Mike is a liar too! Never again. EVER.
