Initial phone call to their Alameda phone number was okay, the girl answered the phone told me the earliest appointment is more than a week away then asked me about my preferred 4-hours time slot (I have to pick 3). I received email and text message confirmation right away. But never hear back from them again.

Terrible. They sent a technician to diagnose the fridge. Diagnosis was blown compressor. Then they didnt have anyone to repair it. Tell me that upfront if you cant make the most basic repair! I wasted 2 days and $90 only to not have it repaired. Rip-off!

They did not show up to the appointment and did not call us to explain why or to reschedule. We were unable to reach the office and were only able to talk to an answering service. While both people we talked to in the answering service were very nice, they didnt have access to any real information about the reason for the missed appointment or when another appointment might be scheduled, so dealing with this company ended up being a waste of our time.

BEWARE!!! I tried to schedule an appointment with this service online to repair our portable dishwasher. I got a call from a woman who said they could send someone out on Saturday, between 12-4. I asked if Sunday was an option since I had to work Saturday, but they said they didnt have any Sunday appointments. Okay. Thats a pretty big window, and really meant I couldnt do anything else all day, but I accepted. I cancelled a work shift so I could stay inside the house for this appointment. When no one showed by 4:15, I called and asked what was going on. I was hung up on once, then when I called back, another customer service rep said that they would be able to send someone over around 5:30. WHAT?!?!?! I already lost out on $200 from a work shift I had to have covered that I could have worked, but no one bothered to call to say they couldnt make it. I also had to leave the house at 5:30. I told them, that wouldnt work and then they said he could come at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday - which is what I originally asked for!!! I asked to speak with a supervisor, and was put on hold for 20 minutes until I was finally hung up on again.The technician came on Sunday morning and said he had never seen a portable dishwasher before and asked how it worked. I had included a very detailed description in my web request, PLUS I reiterated the issue on the phone. Moreover, I was told on the phone that we would be charged $90 for the visit, but that would be included in the repair cost. So, now the guys says he has to come back another day and that the MINIMUM cost would be $250 for him to come repair our dishwasher. None of this had been conveyed AT ALL on the phone. It was a complete bait and switch.At this point, Im already out $300 from unnecessarily lost wages and the $90 for a 5 minute look at a dishwasher that the repair person didnt know how to fix. And for him to come back, its going to be another $200. I could have bought a BRAND NEW appliance for this!!! Im out $300, and still dont have an operating dishwasher. This was a horrible ripoff.

I am revising this review and giving two more stars for their reasonable CS, which refunded $75 off my original payment. My final assessment is that while the company seems reputable, they still should offer a 90-day warranty on all service rendered. Until this is in effect, I cannot fully recommend that they perform this particular (draining failure) service.I would like to be completely fair to this company but the situation they have placed me in is rather untenable. I had them repair a 10 yr-old Bosch dishwasher which was not draining properly. The repair was made--$265 for about half hour worth of work. OK, expensive but you pay for the expertise. Then 30-days later same problem. No worries, I thought, because they have a 90-day warranty (I thought). The tech returns takes one look at the water and demands another $265. I protested but to no avail--read the fine print. They argue that they cannot control the customers use, which is true but.... I what assurance does the customer have that a lasting repair was made and this is not some scam.Two such repairs could almost pay for a new machine and a 5-year warranty. Because of this I cannot recommend this service for this procedure. But you be the judge for other services.

Chris showed up within an hr of scheduled time and sent text indicating he was on his way. He diagnosed problem and cleared pump within 30 minutes. Chris was extremely knowable, professional and friendly. Washing machine working like a charm. Same day service was great. Worth labor charge and $25 discount for new customers. They have a great employee. Highly recommend.

Shawn is the repair-angel that helped save my marriage! We now have a freezer that makes ice again. My wife and I found him to be technically competent, professional and very personable. He showed me what parts were missing, and what it would take to make it whole again. No snake oil salesman here. Im a very satisfied customer.

Update: After posting this review, I was contacted by the marketing manager regarding my experience. She was very professional and heard my concerns. I was refunded $100 of the $180. I believe that was a fair amount as I was told up front about the non-refundable diagnostic fee.If could give a negative rating I would. The technician Dr. Allen lied about the cost of repairs. I was informed that the washer could be repaired without purchasing new parts. One hour after the technician competed the job, I attempted to wash clothes. The barrel of the washer immediately came off the springs and started shaking vigorously. I called the technician and he replied, I forgot to tell you it may need new shocks. He then said that will cost an extra $400. I had already paid $180 so I questioned him about a refund and he stated that $100 of the $180 could go towards the new quote. It was smarter to just purchase a new washer.He should have been honest up front. I call the home office to request a refund. They stated that they would look into and never replied back. Now Im out of $180 and had to purchase a new washer. Poor customer service and dishonesty demonstrate poor business principles. The Appliance Doctor should be ashamed.

I had a great experience with the Appliance Repair Doctor. With our dryer not functioning, we were pleased to be able to quickly get an appointment. The technician arrived on time and quickly identified the problem. He had the necessary parts and was able to fix it right then. The team was all very courteous and I felt very comfortable working with them.

I had them come out to repair my dishwasher. They did an excellent job and the price was very reasonable. I thought I was going to have to buy a new dishwasher but they were able to fix this one and all is well. Thank you!

I made a call to the Appliance Doctor to repair our Frigidaire stove/oven. The appointment was made without any hassles. They showed up the following day at the appointed time and repaired our appliance to our great satisfaction. Our repairman, Visak, was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the repairs needed and was very efficient in making those repairs. In the future I am going to use the Appliance Repair Doctor for any repairs needed. Thank you for your great service

Terrible service. The technician was proficient, but scheduling was horrible. They lied several times after promises were not fulfilled. One example, they had to order a part at first visit, and told me to call them the day the part arrived and they would show up same day to install. I called again the morning the part arrived and would told they would try to get the technician back out and would let me know. never heard back from them the entire day. The next day they promised the technician would be here at 12, as I had to leave at 3. Got a text at 1:30 that he was on his way. He ends up not showing until 2:25. Also, the price they charged for labor was outrageous. Will never use this service again, which does not respect its customers or stand behind the promises they make.

Loved the service, repairman very pleasant. But when he said All was done.Everything checked and working good. We took his word for it. Then we started washing clothes and water leaked all over the floor. We were going to call him back but decided to try to figure it out ourselves because the need for the washer couldnt wait another day. The hose under the washer was not properly clamped so we re clamped it ourselves and its now working beautifully. Glad it was an easy fix.

As a complimentary consideration, Eli cleaned the back of the refrigerator for us and gave us a number of useful tips to keep the refrigerator operating. We are very pleased with the scheduling, the promptness and efficiency of the service appointment. I am confident that we had the best available service.

Michael from The Appliance Repair Doctor was excellent. Not only did he call before arriving, he was on time. Michael was very courteous as well as respectful.Michael was able to repair the Whirlpool Duet Washer on the same day. He alsogave us some very useful tips.

These guys are the worst. I had the worst experience in my life attempting to have my refrigerator repaired. They seemed friendly and responsive but the lack of technical skill, misinformation, and lack of follow up is what has led me to this one star review. If you are expecting a quick same day repair then forget it. Its not going to happen. I had to go through several iterations with the technician replacing part by part that took the course of several weeks. After replacing the compressor and the circuit board the fridge was still not fixed. Then we had replace the wires. That part didnt come in for two weeks! For just wires! I got zero updates in those two weeks. It was only after I called about the wires do I find out that the technician that was on this job didnt work for the company anymore. So they sent me a new technician to assess whats going on because they had no idea what was going on and I guess they had no paperwork to tell them. The second technician tells me the fridge is not fixable. So I wasted a month replacing parts to a fridge that cant be fixed. I asked immediately for a refund for services. Then after a few days I call to follow up on the refund, the customer service person tells me now that the fridge actually is fixable and that the second technician got it wrong. And asks me if I want it fixed? Of course not lady! I want a refund. At the point, Ive already purchased a new fridge. Did I get the refund? No. They have not refunded me to this day. So now Im working to dispute the charge on the credit card.I was really hoping to save the fridge and not create more landfill waste than we need to but Im afraid this experience has burned me. After 350 bucks in the hole, countless amount of time and stress spent with customer service, and more take-out food than I ever want in a lifetime, I can confidently say this was not worth it.DO NOT GO TO THESE GUYS.

Hands down the best service ive ever had. Juan has come to our house a number of times to fix our refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. He is awesome! Another guy I think Eugene came to look into our water heater when it was damaged in a floor and he was awesome. Simply put this company has great people that stick with them so must be treating them well. Theyre well trained and experienced in high end equipment that a lot of other appliance people werent able to service. Best of all I had the stove looked at by multiple people and they didnt diagnose or fix the problem after multiple visits. I called my repair company and was told it would be a 14 day wait. I did a Google search and found your number; and got prompt same day service. They used software to track progress as well as process paperless transactions, repair tech was well trained and experienced and gave us possible explanation how the leak occurred. The repair man looked and listened to the refrigerator and said this will cost almost as much as a new one to repair and it will take much more time. Our 18 year old GE refrigerator/freezer broke down and GE said they could not come out for 5 days. Javier from the Appliance Repair Doctor came out that afternoon and fixed our appliance. He was efficient, clean, and courteous. He even cleaned the coils under the unit for us. We were very pleased and grateful. We will use this company for all of our appliance needs in the future.

I had a problem with my Bosch dishwasher and I called the Appliance Repair Doctor. They were able to get someone to my house the next day. The technician, Eran, was great. He showed up on time, quickly identified the problem and ordered the part right away. He kept me informed over the weekend about the status of the part and came early this morning and got the dishwasher up and running right away.

Please, please read my review and dont let this happen to you! My dryer wouldnt start, so I requested a tech, really?, to come to check it. I dont know what happened, but when the tech push the start button, the dryer worked. He did come to the house, so I paid the $70 fee. 20 minutes after he left, I tried to start the dryer and guess what, it wouldnt start. I called customer service right away and was told, in order to have the tech return, I would need to pay a new service charge of another $70. I explained that this is not a new service request, but the first request was not completed. Customer service told me, because I paid, it was done. Really? Customer service rep. then said, thanks for calling and hung up on me. Unbelievable. Unethical. I plan to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

Called for an appointment and was able to set it up for the following day with no problem. Shawn showed up with a phone call about an hour before. He was very nice and completed the job. He made sure that the work he completed was working. Great job with no headaches.

The Appliance Repair Doctor was great. They sent out a technician, Adam, who arrived promptly and was very polite and professional. He immediately discovered the problem with our Miele clothes dryer and spent about two hours making the repair, pulling out the most disgusting buildup of lint we have ever seen and checking the mother board. I had an issue with a Miele Dryer. The repairman was prompt, knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and successful in making the needed repair. He came on time and charged the estimated minimum. I had noticed a malfunction in my Microwave Oven and phoned to add that to the service call. The receptionist advised me that the minimum cost would be raised by $40 for the second appliance.When the repairman arrived, we saw that the Microwave had self-corrected and he dropped the added charge.

We are repeat customers and they again showed tremendous professionalism. They arrived within the window they promised, diagnosed the problem, got the frig going again till the new part arrived and then fixed it for good. They were able to fix our very expensive refrigerator for a reasonable price. We highly recommend these guys!

My refrigerator water dispenser and my washing machine stopped working on the same day. I called the Appliance Repair Doctor and much to my surprise they came out the same day. Sal technician quickly recognized both problems and repaired them immediately. I am so happy with the quick response and professional service that I will always call them for my appliance repair needs.

I have never felt compelled to write a review until this horrendous experience with the Appliance Repair Doctor. Poor quality work and terrible customer service!!!Their repair of my Asko dryer totaled $400+ including a new $280 part and labor. The technician encouraged me to make this expensive repair because it would buy me many years of life on the thing. The dryer then died again after one cycle. The technician came back out and told me that the dryer had burned up the new part, the problem could not be fixed and I would need a new dryer.They offered me a refund of $200 stating that they would not pay for the replacement part per company policy (this policy is NOT on the work order I signed). In addition, the refund they offered was contingent upon my signing an agreement not to negatively review the company Yelp or Google! Looking back now at all the prior negative reviews on Yelp I can understand why this company is desperate to keep customers quiet! I made my case (that I should not pay for a part that failed after one use because they misdiagnosed the problem) to multiple customer service representatives who said they agreed with me but only the manager could authorize the full refund, which he did not. Needless to say I did not sign that refund agreement and I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.Consumers call on companies such as this in times of need- instead what I found in the Appliance Repair Doctor was poor quality work and hostile customer service. Never again.

Where do I begin. I called this company in order to fix my LG Front Loader Dryers. One of the technicians came out for the service call. After he evaluated the dryer he informed me that it was the heating element which is common for these dryers. He gave me an estimate of 600 dollars to repair the problem. I immediately told him that I felt it was to high especially since a brand new dryer same brand and color was going for 899. I attempted to pay him with a check and he stated the company did not take checks which was never informed to me when I book the appointment so I have him 100 dollars to cover the 95 dollars for him to come out. It also should be noted that he did not have change so I never got my 5 dollars back. But moving forward I went ahead and discussed it with my boyfriend I decided not to have it fix and to purchase a new dryer. The technician called the next day and I informed him that I would not be fixing the dryer. He then informed me that he could have someone haul my dryer away free of charge which I respectfully declined. Needless to say. I boyfriend whom has absolutely no dryer experience purchased a heating element part that cost him a total of 40 dollars and surprise my dryer is fixed. This company is a fraud. Not only did they try to inflate the cost of fixing the dryer when I declined offering to haul it away was the technician way of making additional money off me. If my boyfriend with no experience fix it for 40 Im sure the technician was aware of this as well. And was an attempt to make money buy fixing my dryer then selling it. Trust me do not use this company....

Alex is fast yet efficient with repairs. He is knowledgeable and quick to diagnose what to me was a mysterious problem with the dishwasher. I am not a mechanical minded person. Our refrigerator failed on a weekend, We called APR and they came to our house promptly. They diagnosed the problem as a failure of the main circuit board and explained that they are no longer manufactured. However they were able to get a refurbished one. Our refrigerator is now in good working order. APR got the job done with a minimum of fuss.

They said they could come out today. They sent several texts and emails to confirm an appointment window of 8a -12noon. At 1130 they sent another email that said it would be 12n - 4pm without a call or text. When I called to ask what happened there was no manager to speak to and no estimate at all of what time the technician would be here. My entire day was wasted and I have children in a shelter with wet clothes and a broken washing machine. The whole thing was unprofessional and very frustrating. Try someone else.

Things started out rocky with no one showing or calling in the time window. The technician was delayed due to other calls and arrived about 3 hours late. I was offered to reschedule several times but we had a family emergency and time was critical for us. The technician, Chris, was thorough with troubleshooting the problem and ordered the part to be delivered to us.We liked that we only had to call in once the part arrived to schedule him to return. Chris is very knowledgable and personable and I will certainly request him if I need any further assistance.

Clicked on call me on their website. Got a phone call in about 15 min. The person on the phone was pleasant and dispatched a tech to arrive that afternoon (1pm - 4 pm). He showed up about 1:45. He was quick to find the problem. The charge was as stated before his arrival. All paperwork arrived in my email. Id call them the next time something breaks.

Patrick arrived within the time frame stated. He worked neatly and quickly. He also gave me advice on how to load the dishwasher in a way that would preserve the washers lifespan and keep it working well as well as cleaning the dishes better.

Had a problem with our washer - hot water coming in on cold cycles. Two visits from a technician. He did nothing. Ended up calling LG customer care directly as they were the manufacturer of the machine. LG sent someone within a couple days and they replaced a bad water valve.One star to Appliance Repair Doctor for bad service. Added a star because the refunded my money.

My Viking oven would not ignite, after being away for some time, so I called Repair Doctor . The repairman arrive on the earlier side of the time est. and found the problem quickly, and began repairs after getting my approval of the estimate. The main unit on my ceramic top Maytag stove stopped working. Not good! I contacted The Appliance Repair Doctor and they sent a certified repair technician -- Eli . He was able to quickly diagnose the problem, explained WHY the unit had burned out and and made arrangements for replacement. The replaced was performed quickly and efficiently. While he was here, he was also able to fix a problem with the Maytag dishwasher -- it had not been installed properly when purchased. It was an easy fix -- again he is great at diagnosing problems.

The Appliance Repair Doctor saved the day! My fridge had a horrible popping noise that Shawn was able to diagnose and fix in 2 trips. Shawn arrived both times at the beginning of the time slot. He was able to diagnose the problem within minutes after he arrived, ordered the part that needed to be replaced, explained and answered all of my questions. The second time he arrived with a partner to replace the part, and they were both courteous and professional. They worked quickly and cleanly (even laying down a blanket on my hardwood floors to protect it). Shawn even offered to put back my groceries that were in a cooler after they worked on the fridge!

My furnace run into some problem during the night. On the next day morning, I made a same-day appointment. Dr Felix is very helpful. He detects the problem and replaces the component within an hour. He is easy-going and his service is excellent. It is nice to meet him!

With a 9 year old washer on the fritz, its challenging to decide whether to repair or replace. The technician came out within the 1 to 4 hour time Friday afternoon window and was courteous and professional.He diagnosed the problem within the hour and gave an estimate to repair. This company asked for prepayment of the estimated repairs in full since the parts are special ordered. We initially went with repair but decided an hour later that day not to, since the cost was about 75% of a new one.We received an email confirmation on the following Monday of our decision and that we would be charged only for the inspection fee. That was known up front and we are okay with that. However, its been over a week and the proper credit card credit had still not shown up.I still recommend this vendor as the services provided were great, the timely electronic follow up like appointment reminders, technician notification, and links to review their business are important but the slow response to payment matters left a little bit of an aftertaste I can do without, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Back n the day before I had a Bosch dishwasher getting a repair was fairly easy. My recent interaction with The Appliance Repair Doctor left me wondering whether it was easier and less painful to go out and just buy a new dishwasher. It took over two weeks for parts delivery and then only after I followed up by email to see if it had actually been ordered (it had not). Once the parts were installed the same problem persisted and I was told to call an electrician as the problem was in the electrical panel. When I pointed out that the working garbage disposal was plugged into the same outlet I was told I needed another part for the dishwasher. When I contacted TAD about whether the part has been ordered and what the time frame was for delivery and repair I did not hear back from them. All in all a disappointing experience.

Good service. Immediate response on initial call. Office never followed up after parts were ordered, but once I called they sent a tech out same day.

The Tech was great and my dishwasher is fixed, but the people in the office need to pay attention. I booked an appointment for Tuesday which required a credit card, however, they rescheduled for Wednesday last minute. I asked the supervisor at Repair Doctor to switch the card on file from my personal credit card to our company card. She told me that everything was switched and my personal card had been removed from the system. I woke up to a $290 charge on my personal credit card. I called to request a void and no one had a clue where to start. I requested resolution from their accounting deparment. Still waiting to be refunded....I hope the managment reads these reviews and understands the importance of employees following through on their word

I called on the Appliance Repair Doctor when my oven stopped working. Javier the tech who came out was very quick and neat. He assessed the problem ordered the part and returned within a week to install. I will most certainly use this company again.

Today, The Appliance Repair Doctor sent Moses out to service my Miele dishwasher that was not draining. He was on time, called ahead, and was careful and courteous in my kitchen. Best of all, he solved the problem! Thank you, Moses!

Alex came to repair a dryer that was broken, found the part and installed it the same day. Alex also gave a look at a misfunctioning oven for no extra charge. Good service!

I have to say that I have never called a plumbing company or for that matter any repair company and be offered an appointment for the same day for a non-emergency repair. The technician arrived within the window of time given to me, corrected the problem and the cost was reasonable. It was on Sunday of a holiday weekend when I realized the refrigerator was not working. My usual store was closed so I went searching for someone who could repair it. The Appliance Repair Doctor was open and able to schedule someone for the next morning, on the actual holiday.Ariel Gubkin was the service person who came and he was fantastic. He came early, was knowledgable, fixed the problem quickly, cleaned up after himself and gave us some great advice for the future. Before all of our frozen food was ruined the problem was fixed and we were back in business. Especially helpful as we had a dinner party that night! 5 stars

I called this company to work on my wall heater. They told me that the service charge was $80. They send a technician out and he told me the heater needs to be replaced and he told me the charge would be $3200. When I told him that Sears sells a new one for $800 and I would have them to install a new one, he asked me for $120 service charge! I told him that the service charge is supposed to be $80! After a few minutes arguing back and forth he agreed on $80 and then he told me if I would like he could install a new one for $2800!! I called the company and the guy on the phone told me that right after I called them at 11 am, they changed their service call from $80 to $120!! Are you kidding me!!! How can you trust these people!! I feel so uncomfortable and I dont call them again. They are not trustworthy.

Thank god Moses! over the holidays i was so stressed because my oven kept acting funny, at the last minute i called the appliance repair doctor. this company is great! Moses arrived and within 20 min he figure out the problem and fixed my oven! i am so happy, and so are my guests! thank you the repair doctor! thank you Moses!

Felix was knowledgeable and efficient. I was able to get an appointment at my convenience and Felix arrived on time and was able to address my problem. Would recommend.

Alex showed up on time, was polite and to the point. We explained what happened to our dishwasher, and he immediately recognized the problem, had the right part with him, and worked quickly. The repair was expensive, but thats what parts and labor cost today. The important thing was that the dishwasher was fixed in time for us to prepare dinner.

I have never had more courteous and knowledgeable service from any appliance repair person than Ron from ARD. He found a set of problems that had been either ignored or missed by a number of technicians and he taught me more about the appliance as well. Ladies, he will leave the work area spotless, even if there is a really messy problem to fix. There are a lot of professionals out there - I was lucky enough to find a real PRO! I will call Ron for any appliance repair I have from now on to save money and time.
