So excited this place is open. Mr. Spates is a fabulous instructor. My whole family, from when my kids were 4 through me at 41, have benefited from Mr. Spates teaching at Tiger Rock Greystone on 280. From white belts to my daughter and wife who are now Black Belts, Mr. Spates help guide and polish our skills. We will miss him, but we are excited he is getting his own place!We visited opening week and while the place is still under some construction, classes have started and Mr. Spates is in full swing. Tiger Rock runs programs for every age from 4 to adult, novice to Black Belt, and you couldnt have a better instructor at any level than Mr. Spates. Excellent instructor! He is wonderful with even the most inattentive kid. Always positive, informative and uplifting. In the last 7 months Ive seen my sons confidence soar, his behavior became positive and much more determined to succeed! Highly recommend!

Instructors here are top notch! They all go above and beyond to make sure the students are prepared. Their attention to detail and the individual makes them a step above their competition.

My 2 sons recently have started at this location and the one in pelham. I could not be more impressed at the level of attention and firm, fair, and challenging experience they are getting. So glad they have opened up here in alabaster. We started at another location and have been made to feel so welcome here. And, we will keep coming back! Highly recommended!

Mr. Spates has instructed both of my girls in Taekwondo since the ages of  four and six at the Greystone Tiger Rock.  My eight year old started in Tiger Cubs with him and progressed all the way to a Junior Brown Belt who has recently applied for the Honors and Leader Program.  My 12 year old has progressed from a Junior White Belt to a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Honors and Leaders with the Teens.  Both girls learned discipline, respect, honor and commitment. They also learned that no task is impossible if you continue to try. Mr. Spates has a teaching style that balances fun, skill building, challenges and confidence.  My girls have always enjoyed his lessons, even when they exhaust them, marking Mr. Spates as one of their favorite Instructors. Mr. Spates even encouraged me to get on the mat. Three years later I have achieved my black belt which was no small task. He was able to teach this old girl some new kicks. The time and effort he invests in all of students helps on their path to succeed.
