Thieves. Multiple packages out for delivery that never arrive to my residence. And the tracking information shows when it arrives at the alabaster post office and when its out for delivery. Yet They never come. One time I sent myself a camera in a package and the African american delivery woman opened it, saw what was inside and tried to drop it off inside our garage AFTER she got busted. Then I called to complain and even sent the video to the inspector and she said oh we let amazon workers drive our vehicles so that probably wasnt even a usps worker. Even though I sent you the video proving she was in a usps outfit? Yall are pathetic

I hate this carrier, nothing is ever delivered on time and my boxes have a habit of coming damaged when they deliver them. I cant stand it.

Excuse me NO ACCESS TO DELIVERY ADDRESS????? You telling me your little trucks 🚚 could turn into a OPEN DRIVEWAY, with nothing to impeded you, no gate, no pets, no small entrance, and yet you couldnt deliver it at 10:19am WHILE IM HOME

Never had a better letter carrier than Ms Bob she has the best attitude and work ethic I have ever encountered. She goes way beyond what is considered her job. The Post Office has been very helpful as well. Never had a bad experience there.

I had the best experience at the Alabaster Post office today! I wish everyone could be as helpful and courteous as the employee I had that assisted me with my package questions. I appreciate her willingness to answer questions. I wish I had gotten her name! Much thanks!!

Incredibly incompetent!! You will get no help from these people when they routinely lose your packages. They will say they were delivered to your address even when you sat there and watched them not deliver it. I’m literally looking at moving from alabaster just to get away from this mail service.

I see that in past the community has had delivery concerns. Well good news. We have rarely had an issue with our service. With the exception of the time covered by COVID, my mail has been delivered with great care and accuracy for 3 years. I have the steepest driveway on our block and my carrier brings mine to the door they are always courteous and helpful. Keep up the good work.

I have no problems with the employees working inside of the office. They are always helpful. The mail carriers are a different story.They take my mail to the wrong houses AND I’m almost weekly getting someone else’s mail. Within the least month I’ve had to get in my car and drive mail to another Alabaster resident (one was blocks over from my house and another in a completely different subdivision). I often have to walk my next door neighbors’ mail to their houses and they have to do the same for me.Last month I had to yell and flag the driver of the mail truck down as she literally passed by my house with important mail that I KNEW was on the truck (via the app). She first insisted that she didn’t have anything for my box... I insisted she look again while I stood there. Miraculously, she then had mail for me... then she gave me some excuse about not feeling well.. blah blah. On a normal occasion, I would care and completely sympathize... but she’d literally just stood there and lied to me (and not to mention constantly putting my mail in neighbors’ boxes, and doing their mail the same way).The last straw that pushed me to write this review today is the fact that I have a package on their truck right now that they didn’t drop off. They’ll likely drop it off tomorrow — but this has happened to me too many times. They’ve dropped off my letter mail today, but no packages.I don’t understand how they have so many issues just doing what they’re being paid to do.

Package was not delivered. I received a text message saying that I requested the package be held at the post office. I made no such request. This post office seems to have a problem delivering packages on time.

The staff inside have been very helpful. But, the letter carriers are another thing. I can never count on them to pick up my business mail on time!! I find myself having to go and mail them myself. Which takes time out of my day! I got some mail today and 1 letter was postmarked Feb 26, 2020 and another dated Mar 4, 2020. That seems like along time to come from Birmingham!

Is there less than a star rating?Staff is not helpful and have required me to leave at 4:30 - even if I was in line 10 or 20 minutes before. I have had two packages broken into and contents stolen. Some of the drivers will not leave a package at your door but will place the notice in your mailbox, forcing you to come to the post office (get there way before 4:30!!). It’s ridiculous, especially when you have young children. I will drive to any other location rather than go back there again.

Honest to God this is the most incompetent group of jerks I’ve ever dealt with. I can’t wait til you lose your jobs.

I have a complaint about package delivery to my house. My carrier just pulled into my driveway and left a package in front of my garage door for the whole world to see! Not ten steps away is my covered front porch where FedEx, UPS, Prime, and other carriers leave packages. Was that too far for her to walk to assure my package was dry if it rained and fairly well hidden from porch thieves. I think that is very poor service. Also, trying to call the local post office is a joke!

This is my home post office and I am in there every day and sometimes twice a day as I mail 75-125 packages a week. Staff is WONDERFUL. I have seen them help customers tape up packages many times and also help them repackage things that most other post offices would tell the customer to step aside and do themselves. Keith, Marlene and the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful and I am glad to call this home. One more thing, I cant tell you how many times there were 3 or 4 people in line and the agent working would call in the back for some help. Most post offices I visit would NEVER call for backup. THESE GUYS AND GALS ARE THE BEST!

Went in this morning 3/2/17 to drop off a letter. The lady working ( short gray hair) was so very rude and gave me the biggest attitude. Ive been dropping off the same letters the past two weeks. She refused to put stamps on it and said its considered a package. Thats fine my question was why did the other ladys put two stamps in them? She raised her hands and said Im not doing it and pushed them at me. Im not rude nor was I rude and certainly did not deserve this type of treatment. I was simply asking a question. I will be using UPS even though it costs more because her attitude and lack of service was uncalled for. No winder our postal service is struggling!!!

Ive honestly never met a lazier bunch of people. Why they REFUSE to walk up my driveway when FedEx, UPS, and ANY OTHER delivery driver would, will NEVER make sense to me. I am SICK and TIRED of having to LEAVE WORK EARLY to go up to this joke of a facility just to pick up my mail!

That staff isn’t helpful at all and have really bad attitudes and snap at you out of nowhere and their deliver service is the worst part about their establishment!

Staff is always friendly and helpful. They do their best to get everyone in and out smoothly.

So i was just sitting outside waiting on a package to come and i see the mail lady driving by with no mask on. And she had my neighbors mail in front of her face coughing on it. This is unacceptable behavior from postal workers.

Routinely closes early so get there early

I have gone there for 10 years, at least once a week. All the staff is friendly and professional all the time. I dont understand the complaints below. They never lost my package, and shipping is always cheaper than UPS.

Everytime I pay for shipping on an item all I get is a pink paper saying sorry we missed you come at this time to pick up your item.but really they never even see if your home.so already payed for shipping then still gotta pay for gas to go get it..

Update 12/6/17 - For the third time in less than a year, the Alabaster Post Office has lost/misplaced a package of mine. I was actually told today that sometimes the package goes to the wrong box and is taken and never brought back. Wow, that makes me feel good!

I have never had a truly bad experience here (surprised to see such low ratings) and mail packages for my business without any issues. The staff that work the counter are typically friendly, and have never been rude to me...now the mail carrier Ive encountered a few times could use a little help in that area! In constrast to other POs Ive been other places Ive lived including Bham, its one of the best. One of the ladies even gave stickers to my kids for Valentines Day, another asks kindly about my business, to me that is above and beyond!

This is the ONLY bad review I have ever left. As a business owner in Alabaster this is the worst service I have ever received. I have had my credit cards lost, my bank account statements LEFT ON TOP OF THE MAILBOX (thankfully someone next door noticed and brought it to me) and my mail NEVER consistently arrives at my office. Every single package that I have ever had delivered has been delivered to the wrong address and the manager has had to go track it down.We have a new mail lady every week and we never know when the mail will be delivered.I have been in my office since September 2016 and have had major problems since then.I am pretty much being forced to have my mail delivered to my home address in a different city.

What i can count on from the Alabaster post office. Is my mail will be delivered to a house with the same numbers as mine but on a different street. Thankfully that homeowner and i have the same problem and work together to fix the PO problems.

Mail is consistently delivered to the wrong address. Numerous packages have either been delayed or delivered to the wrong address.

Horrible and very prude staff. I have noticed that this crew is very lazy, the times I have went to this establishment I would notice one employee working, while the other two would be carrying on a conversation and laughing it up while the lobby is full of people.They treat you as if youre incompetent, as if theyre on a power trip. My advice, use the Pelham location.

Very rude staff. I walked in the post office and the employee closed the gate in my face. I continued to call her for assistance and she ignored me as if she did not hear me. This is terrible and obviously by the other reviews this location is known for terrible service!

Print your postage online and drop it off here unless you like standing in lines.

Ive never seen a post office that cares so little about making an effort. Mishandled packages and returned items are the norm for these folks. I wish there was another option to have my mail/packages delivered.
