Don’t come in expecting any actual HELP. I’m pregnant and high risk and couldn’t even get them to help me with rent because I don’t have an ID for this state. I just moved here and don’t have the money for an ID even though I have multiple documents proving I live here. They offered no additional help, just a “sorry I can’t help you” in a pathetic tone. I’ve never received any type of assistance before and won’t bother the state with it again! They don’t actually care about your well-being.

The people who were working in the front desk area were extremely friendly and helpful made my day less awful than it had to be

I sincerely feel sorry for anyone who needs help that has to turn to this organization. Not only is Anne, the receptionist immature, she is disrespectful, uncaring, smart mouthed, and disinterested. The same for those in the back that never return your phone calls, although their message on their machines will ask you to leave your name and phone number. They also lie. We filled out paperwork, and twice we came in there with a disconnection notice. Each time it was ignored. But for us calling Dominion Energy, we are seniors, both disabled, and my husband, who is disabled requires power for his health machines, we were able to extend the cut off on our own since this organization didnt handle it, although they said they would. The extension, and final due notice, came a week later, and I brought the notice to the office the day it was due, as we were told to do. Left it with the receptionist, and then, again, left contact information. Later that evening I contacted Dominion on my own to see if had been paid...it had not. In fact, Dominion told us this community center (Maria Martinez) had not even reached out to Dominion with a promise to help (they lied and said they did. I believe Dominion Energy at this point). Oh, did I tell you this happened the day before Thanksgiving, and that we also have a minor that lives with us? And did I also mention that they took off for a four-day holiday. Again...if not for me calling Dominion Energy that night it was to be disconnected, it would have happened. I came into the communitys office on Monday, and was met with rudeness and total lack of care by the receptionist that said since we had made a deal with Dominion (still owe the money), they wouldnt help, now. As if somehow they always planned to. Really? They didnt stop the disconnection when they said they would. Here, let me hold my breath some more. I asked her if it would have been better if we had the electricity disconnected that night it was due, after this community organization had not paid it, closed up, and went home for their four-day holidays, instead. Crickets. But I did get an immature and condescending have a nice day from Anne in the front office. They never intended to help us. Try to find help somewhere else. I suspect we didnt fit their profile.

If you need help with utilities or are behind on rent there are funds to help you out in Aiken County.

Im glad I walk by (faith,,I lost my job in September,I understood the 1st time I had called they said it was all scheduled out call all week to see if anyone had canceled their appointment. So one of them days a lady said call back Monday. I called back that next Monday line busy all day then that afternoon she answered and said they were out of funds, call next Monday. I did...the same thing. It never been this bad I have had help from here before they were great. I dont get it because people really need their help.

A lovely place. All the people there are fantastic. They really care about the people that come there.

If you need assistance with your rent make sure youre the 1-6th caller or you will not get an appointment to get assistance.

Good service and fast they get you in and out and will help you will bills food and etc

They anwser the phone when I call to make a appointment to get help with a bill.

These people are in the business of saying no! If they cannot help a homeless veteran, then they dont deserve federal funds. They promise to help, but LOOK for reasons why they cant. AND humiateve YOU, in the process

This place is awful. People really need help and they take appointments one day every 2 weeks knowing that youre more than likely not going to be able to even get through. Thats disgusting.
