Wow a 24 hr Golds!!! Its been forever since Ive visited a golds at 4am. Tons of space and equipment at this location. Dry sauna is small but still nice facility.

Really like the space. My daughter loves having a womens only area for working out. Great amount of equipment. Membership includes hydro massage chairs and tanning...the hydro massage is really nice. Nice pool to get laps or water aerobics in. Steam and sauna rooms. The staff could be a little more helpful, dont seem super interested, but if you can find someone they are pretty nice with direct questions. Like the flexibility of open hours to be able to fit my workouts in around my personal schedule.

The staff is amazing. Always friendly. Ive been coming since March and they still have the same machines out. Not one has been fixed. Half of the treadmills are broken. The childcare area does not have enough workers. Saturdays its usually one worker for 10 kids which includes multiple babies. Makes me uncomfortable leaving my kids.

This gym is in decline and I dont think its going to significantly improve or return to its former functional and well maintained condition. I just dont think there is interest or concern at the top levels of the ownership.There are supposedly improvements on the way but right now some of the equipment is broken, wobbly, sticky, some equipment very marginal and not well maintained. As part of the improvements theyve eliminated much of the good and useful equipment, including various cable and cardio machines, that were popular with members. There are holes in the walls of the locker rooms with exposed plumbing, locker doors falling off, electrical outlet covers missing, a hot tub that is constantly broken (not exaggerating). The HVAC system seems to malfunction fairly often and it will either be cold and moist or hot and humid. Dust and dirt buildup can be seen on the air outlets and air handle units access panels are occasionally left hanging open as if a repair had been started but not finished. Total zombie absentee management. The front desk people are fairly nice and will listen if there is an issue, but there doesnt seem to be any sort of serious person in charge, visible or walking around, to make sure things are ok. In the recent past there was someone constantly walking around seeing that things were maintained and that members were behaving. Giant gym bags and backpacks are very popular now and members drag them all over the place and park them where ever they are working out. The cleaning staff are good people who work extremely hard and do their best but theres only so much that can be done with an old facility. My impression is that the facility will be on life support until such time (likely in the near future) as the real estate becomes valuable enough to sell and build something else on the property. I hope Im wrong and things do improve. Soon the name of the gym will change and these reviews will be irrelevant.

I only recently got a new membership because it was supposed to be a 24/7 gym. Now suddenly the gym closes early Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. With my work and family schedule this basically means I cant squeeze in my workouts on those three days. Can you at least stay open until 9pm on Saturday? Closing at 7pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday is simply too early and 9pm Friday probably isnt going to work for me either. I think your website and/or Facebook page even still say 24/7. There are a lot of new and long term members who will also be affected by this sudden change and have been discussing their displeasure. Overall I like the gym but I just lost 3 of my workout days due to the reduced hours.

Golds Gym in Aiken has a lot to offer. I joined for indoor pool, jacuzzi and hydromassage tables. However, I feel like the facility isnt maintained as well as it should be. Over the years, theyve gone from 3 working hydromassage tables to one. The pools heater was replaced this spring, so hopefully, that wont be an issue anymore. The jacuzzi seems to have been out of service a lot this year; you just have to try your luck with it. Ive heard members complain about the toilets being out of order earlier this year but I didnt experience any problems. The shower area needs some upkeep. Yet, I notice they have midday cleanings in the locker room. Thats appreciated at a 24hr gym. I like that they have a separate area for women to workout, if they choose. And the movie theater exercise room is great, too. All in all, its a good gym when things are working.

Out of all the gyms Ive been to, this is definitely the best! The Golds in Aiken is amazing and I definitely recommend! I used to be big on fitness years ago and, sadly, have lost that passion. BUT as a few months ago, Ive wanted to get back into it and my husband and I came across Golds and we fell in love! I adore the womens only section as I dont feel embarrassed, intimidated or pressured to do my workouts. The thing that definitely got my attention was the 24 hour staffing! I feel safe and comfortable in that environment to workout in no matter the day or time. Highly recommend this gym for everyone!

They never fix their equipment. You can tell them over and over that something needs to be fixed or adjusted and they don’t bother. Showers and locker areas are dirty and a lot of the locker doors are busted. I only go because I have no other option but I’m soon to be done. I have been told by folks that have gone there for some time the owner does not want to invest anymore money in the gym. If that’s the case, sell it and move along. This gives Golds a bad reputation. Hands down the worst one I’ve ever been to.

Absolutely love this place, great atmosphere and so many machines available. They offer a ton of different classes, they have an abundance of free weights and a whole section just for women to workout privately. They offer child care while you work out so no excuse for you not to come.

Good equipment, I like their hours. If all three gyms in Aiken this is the only serious one with free weights. Skip planet fitness if you want more than just a machine or a smith machine. Good is pretty good. Sometimes equipment is broken, or both deadlift areas are taken up. If youre not a meathead there are also 2 removed areas to work out in peace with just less equipment. They also have a cardio room that plays movies, but Ive never used it.

My experience was amazing! I had a great workout with the elliptical. The employees are always so welcoming and sweet. The sauna and steam room are great in helping relax the muscles after exercising. Anyone whos wanting to get more fit, do Golds.

I love this gym. Pool sauna steam room personal womens workout area. So clean and not crowded ever. Manger holly was so pleasant and gave me an awesome deal. I like that you can bring your kids and they have free classes. Its nice to Just go and get away.. Love it!!!!! Im here at least 5 days a week and i bring my kid with me.

I read a review on google reviews by Barry Davis in regards to a fight that happened in the gym .. yes that is true .. but the owner did not start the fight , I did ... he was only defending himself .. the fight started at least 150 ft from the child care entrance and only ended up as close as it was my pursuit of him .. I regret terribly what happened in gym , but through no fault of the gym or ownership.. I would give anything to be able to workout there again with my best workout partner.. miss it so much .. #bestgymintown Patton

The gym itself is amazing and has more than enough options for working out. I have a member of Golds Gym for 4 years and have absolutely loved coming, until now. When COVID-19 hit there was no email sent out to let members know about our accounts. Instead they place information on their Facebook page saying they were closing. I’m not a Facebook friend but soon found their page and found this information. But before I found their Facebook page I emailed the owner at the end of March and he did not respond. When they opened back up I went in to cancel my membership because of the lack professionalism. I was then charged a service fee and monthly fee. I have called several times and either the owners are out of town or not in. The girls at the desk are helpful, but it’s only so much they can do. Very disappointed on how the management is ran at this establishment.i was charged after not being able to go to the gym in 3 months.

Had to renew my membership after the Colonia. The price had changed but the service was good

Paid $120 in advance for four training sessions. After the first session, the trainer never called back or responded in any way. The manager refused to refund the amount for the unused sessions.Dont pay in advance for anything. Really sorry customer response. I wouldnt give them any stars if I could post without giving them at least one.

A friend invited me to visit Golds gym for an afternoon swim. I thought this was a great idea because I had recently considered joining if the price was right. We had a tour of the facility and found it to be well kept, clean and contemporary. The facilities seemed adequate, but the pool was a bit uncomfortable. The size of the pool and water temp were adequate, but there was such a thick heat in the air that it put a bit of a damper on the swim. I think maybe it was built like a greenhouse in order to be used in the winter, which would be great, but perhaps there should be a vent for the summer. I was unable to use the machinery due to an injury, but it looks like this would be a great place to work out when one desires to lose some weight and/or get in shape. So four stars for the modern facilities, cleanliness and amenities, but minus one star for the hot pool.

Probably one of the best gyms Ive been to in a while! I always travel and try to hit different gyms in the areas I visit. Not only is this gym huge, but very well maintained. Lots of different sections of the gym and amazing customer service! Katie at the front desk was very kind and helpful from the moment we walked in! Madison is the one to talk to when it comes to getting great deals for membership!! Highly recommended! Almost makes me want to move to Aiken haha! Great experience to TN visit!

The gym itself is good and worthy of 5 stars.The way payments are processed and the hoops that are required to be jumped through to cancel memberships and change stuff is a pain though. You talk to different people and get different prices/offers when you try to join also. Can just keep going back til you find someone who will give you a student discounted monthly subscription.

Oh its a great gym. Very clean, very beautiful....but once you get in, you never leave. No matter how many times you fill in the paper, year after year they will charge you. You can pay your back fees, pay to quit...and they will still charge you just because they can. You can give them your number, your address, your birth certificate, your ssn, your passport, your soul...and they will magically lose it all no matter how many times you resubmit. :)

Its a good place to go and work out and friendly staff members you can always get great service. Tye down fall is at night they off close the good side where you cant use the sauna or the steam room. Some people would like to be able to use those areas at night since they are not able to do so in the day time as others can. Because they work nights.

I have belonged to Golds since it opened in 1998, with some lapses. Ive never had problems. The trainers I have worked with are good. The staff is polite. I have not run into any pressure for anything.When I lost my son, I brought in the appropriate documentation and other than receiving condolences, I had no issues with his membership being canceled.I love the retreat. Its nice to have a place for women, altho I prefer the older part of the gym. Im there for a reason. I show up, do whatever I do, and leave.Ive not had any issues with Larry or with Mitch - The gym and its amenities suit my purposes - a place to work out.

Megan is very rude. I was promised by a manager that I would be able to freeze my account and I come in and speak to her and she didn’t try and resolve the issue so I ended up Canceling my membership. Don’t use this gym. Find literally anywhere else to work our at.

Better watch these folks...and get in writing what classifies to them as a legit reason to get out of contract...you could move to China and loose all four limbs and they would be like..you can still workout here! Dont for a minute fall for that something from a doctor...nope..and watch your account too!

Well to be completely honest. I come in and do my weekly routine exercises. I have my head phones in and create i nice playlist and prepare myself for a great work-out. I mean for my experience the co-workers and the management team are cool to me. I have no problems.

This was my local gym. Compared to gyms in Los Angeles and bigger cities this gym does not get too crowded.There may be a peak hour or two in the morning and evening but besides that you wont have to fight for equipment usage. They actually have a nice sauna when it is working.

This gym is great! I feel comfortable bringing my family to the childcare center, talking with the people, and getting in shape. They have shown me great exercises and healthy eating habits to help me get healthier. I love the sauna area and the equipment works great.

I have noticed that the steam room hasnt been so call broken in a while and so I give thanks. If their cleaning times were to be consistent and posted around the gym, Id give this gym a better rating. The personal at the desk are friendly.

Nice gym overall. I was able to use the gym with my hotel stay so that was a nice perk. Given that the staff knew it was my first time there, they could have proactively showed med around. I had to wander andx didnt find the lockers until I was headed out.

I was in town for a horse show at Stableview and stayed at the Sleep Inn. Ahead of time I found this gym to make sure I could get a day pass to keep up with my weekday gym time. Turns out the hotel I chose gets free day passes to this gym! The staff was friendly over the phone, in person and at 0400 It had 98% of everything I needed for my programming. Thank you!

I have had memberships at quite a few places around the country. This place is a bit worn in some aspects if you know where to look (the water pressure problems in the shower had(have) been horrible for awhile, but the bang for the buck is awesome. If this place ever closed, that would REALLY stink so writing this review to help keep it around.

Never sign a piece of paper with this company. I tried canceling my membership in person and they refused. I moved and sent all the required documents to cancel my membership. Now they are still saying that I owe them money. The sales associate when I first signed up told me that I could cancel my membership at any time for any reason and that I was not on a contract. Yet they continue to take my money. I have talked to 5 different people trying to get this issue resolved and have received no actual assistance. I will be posting more reviews on other pages and will update whenever this gets resolved to show other people the time frame of the run around I have received. As of right now I am currently at 1 year of attempting to cancel my membership. At 39.98 a month that is almost $500 of what I feel to be stolen money.

My favorite Golds Gym close to the CSRA! In love with the heated pool, sauna, steam room and seperate womens gym on a separate side.You can definetely come in and get focused for a workout.

I have been a member for about 20 years. They have the variety of weights and machines I need. There is also a pool, a video cardio room and several group exercise rooms. Trainers Ronnie and Kathy provide effective fee based one on one training.

Golds is the closest gym to my house that has group fitness classes. I wish they had more diverse set of classes and times, but their offerings are great for the regular 9-5 schedule. I like the retreat and womens only sections of the gym. Its nice to workout without the guy whos always screaming while hes lifting the weight of two people. If one thing should be changed, it would be the carpet in the changing areas. It smells... and I wont let my feet or socks touch it.

This gym has a wonderful staff with the best amenities in the area. Everything was explained thoroughly when signing up and I got a better rate for whats offerered than any other gym provides. They even gave my friend a free month because I signed up.

Love this gym for the WOMENS RETREAT section. Not many gyms have a womens only section. This is the biggest Golds Gym in the Aiken/Augusta area. Pool, hot tub, juice bar, and tanning beds are some of their great amenities. Great BODY PUMP and YOGA classes

While I enjoyed the facilities at Golds Gym in Aiken, I asked about cancelling my membership (I knew I would be moving), and I was assured that I would be able to do so easily! I have called, written letters, etc. Management has NOT contacted me. I finally called their billing company only to find out that Golds Gym lied to me about the cancelling process. If you are considering joining a Golds Gym, I would join at North Augusta or Bobby Jones. The staff there seem more knowledgeable and the management more willing to help. (I have written and called the manager at Golds in Aiken... He is always busy or out to lunch.)

Getting back in the swing of things again. Very nice gym. Was a little misled about my membership from my apartment complex though.

The entrance is really breath taking. I enjoyed the ladies only area.

I will be honest. It looks nice at first. The current manager is terrible. The employees are impolite unless you sign up for training lessons. The front desk crew I will not waste time discussing. (thumbs down)I agree with Haley. Its clear they just want you to pay. If you are looking for exercise doing your brief stay, your better off going to odell weeks or getting an in-home exercise program.

Theyre slowly improving/adding new things to the gym. The only downfall is staff does not manage the gym floor. Weights are scattered all across, left unracked, and completely disorganized. Its very annoying when you have a strict time frame to work with and cant easily get to or find what you need.Update: forgot to mention. Always count on either the sauna or steam room being down for repair which takes weeks.

Best gym in the Augusta area it has a pool and can give LA Fitness/24 hour fitness a run for their money I just have one question for the owner, you sunk a ton of money into a very nice gym why make it where your sauna/steamroom door stays open for about 2 inches thats a lot of heat escaping from that room its ment to be hot and make a overly complicated timer on those 2 rooms

I always enjoy Saturday morning Zumba class, but today was really exciting because we had AMY for our instructor. Her energy is contagious.She is just awesome and very motivating.

STOP CLEANING SHOWERS WHEN PEOPLE ARE USING THEM! PLEASE WAIT UNTIL POOL CLOSES. This gym is big and well equipped. I generally like it. Some of the front desk staff can be rather aloof and get immersed in their cell phones to the point they wont even look up. Some are very nice. It is bothersome that the janitors clean the mens showers with high pressure hoses and chemicals while people are still using them! You come out of the shower and theres a guy right in front of you spraying chemicals and making a slippery mess. Honestly, its also creepy to have some guy hovering around me when Im naked! Cant shower cleaning on the pool side of the gym be done after pool closes?

I should have listened to what everyone was saying about golds gym, but i had been a member before and i decided to join again. Nevertheless, I wished I would have just went back to Achieve Fitness!!! The people are much much nicer more friendly and they actually speak to you and make you feel like you belong there (no snoody people at all) Golds gym has the worst customer service ever, and just think I am giving these punks my hard earned money!!!!!!! Golds gym is just poor poor service, and I will not ever renew my membership here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called to get some information.. I asked the question they didnt answer it. They turned around and asked me 11 other questions. I asked to speak with the manager (Mitch) got on the phone and tried to justify all the questions that the asked me before answering the 1 and only question I asked. Thats not A1 customer service.

They do a really nice job. Larry is the older gray hair guy everyone complains about. Not really a bad guy, just a bad communicator. Follow the rules and you will enjoy the club.

Great place to work out and help you in your pursuit of health and lifestyle change. This gym has so many amenities that I have never used them all despite being a member for over ten years. Free weight, machine weights, tons of cardio equipment, a spinning room, cardio cinema, multiple rooms for classes and an extensive FREE array of classes are included with membership. Theres also a womens retreat, Olympic sized pool, sauna, hot tubs, tanning, juice bar, pro shop, hydro massage, and a whole array of support available through the training staff. Really, you absolutely cannot find anything else of a similar value for what the monthly fees are. Immensely satisfied customer here and I would gladly recommend this gym to anyone I know.
