So, for big mechanic jobs, I usually use someone in Hilda. But that mechanic, even though he is thorough, keeps my vehicles for months. However, this time, the mechanic in Hilda quoted me an outrageous price that was originally for an engine rebuild but when the engine didnt need a rebuild, he said it was the same price. So, I explored other options. I needed my vehicle back in a timely manner because my husbands car is in disrepair, as well, (his needs front wheel bearings and plenty of front end parts, as well as an alignment because we had to change his tie rod ends) but we have the tools to do those repairs. We do what we can, but with my car, we were in over our heads. We were prepared to do head gaskets, but we finally confirmed we did not have a blown head gasket. It only needed a timing chain replacement. If we had attempted this repair, it would have been the grim reaper for the car. Waynes was very patient with providing multiple quotes while we went through the fire trying to figure out what was wrong with our car in the first place. Thus far, I have nothing negative to report about Waynes. One of their former mechanics used to be my neighbor, so I heard about them pretty much all my life. My husband called for a third quote on Tuesday. They told him $1450 for labor and it would take a couple days. I had already bought the kit. On Wednesday, I brought it in. I paid for labor in full. They were patient as I waited for a taxi. On Wednesday afternoon, they called me to verify what I wanted done but my toddler had my phone so I wasnt able to speak to them until the next day. On Friday, I called to check the progress on the car and the girl said they were trying to work it into the rotation because of a slight snag with another. I misunderstood her and I apologize for that. Its in the bay, now. Thus far, they are very nice, they are patient, they are friendly. They will communicate. If it takes a little longer than expected, then thats okay, because the mechanic in Hilda would have kept it for two months or more and would have charged me an extra $1500 for nothing. Update: they have finished and my car runs amazing. We took my husbands car there, too. My a/c is now misbehaving so I think we will be seeing them again, soon.

Shameful place to work for. As of today I was fired and the owner Jeff tried to keep my vehicle saying I had to pay it. He then became angry and starting kicking rocks at me. We began to have a spat and at that time he bit his own lip causing home self to bleed as I calling Aiken County for help. At the end I was charged with assault and battery. He’s a crook and will cheat people. Multiple times my check was short and I had to correct them to get my pay. I’ve seen them cheat customers with there vehicles. They are a money driven company who could care less about employees or customers and that’s why no one is willing to work for them. This is a sad business and I highly recommend to stay AWAY

These are the best people. They are very patient. Me and my wife have panic disorders and they are patient and understanding and they actually work miracles on vehicles. We might be seeing them again in a couple days for the a/c in my wifes car. First they had my wifes car for a timing chain replacement, they had my car for brakes and wheel bearings. We like to do our own repairs because I am disabled but they were not as expensive as the competition.

The towing was well coordinated and expedited. The operator was very professional as well. The vehicle was transported with all safety devices functioning well. Thanks 👍

Driver damaged my vehicle while towing it. Owner is very rude and a liar. He denied any damage was done by them, but said he would refund towing fee. He NEVER honored his word. This company refuses to own their wrong or honor their word. THEY CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. I will sit on the side of the road before I ever let them tow another vehicle of mines.

Got in a pickle when my Jeep wouldnt start and got stranded at the gas station. I have heard good things locally about Waynes but never actually used them. Usually take my car elsewhere for auto repairs; however I knew I was going to need a tow which prompted me to call Waynes as my normal repair shop doesnt do tows. Waynes tow guy was great and on time for my appointment. The office staff were friendly and communicated very well as they worked on my vehicle. Got me back on the road in about 24 hours and at a price that was fair. Will definitely use them again, especially if I need a tow and auto work done.

We broke down while out of town and had to call a tow truck. The lady who answered our call was genuinely concerned and the tow driver looked to see if he could fix the car on the spot first. He helped us find a ride to our hotel. They looked at our car first thing in the morning and got the part ordered quickly. They got the part in a couple days later and got the car back up and running. Everyone was so kind and helpful! Highly recommend Waynes for towing and repair needs!

Poor service and gave me the run around about my car after towing it to there shop. Told me it would be one day to fix and has now been over a week.

Waynes did us right...broke down not far from there shop with a horse in tow...an Aiken resident stopped to help (heaven sent) when all other sources failed. He recommended Waynes...they towed us that night (Saturday) On Monday called with the problem (fuel pump) and had it repaired by that afternoon. Now I say...it doesnt get much better than that! Price was reasonable as well. In case you were wondering...the Aiken man took us, horse in tow home to Barnwell. We have a new friend and a new repair garage.

Chris took care of my wife’s car. Explained everything to her in detail and clearly. I knew what he was talking about but it was nice for him to explain it to where she understood. The mechanic Does an absolutely great job. Very professional and clean looking. I hate when I get my car back with grease on it. But this was spotless. Amazing group of employees.

My family broke down in Aiken on our way home from vacation last week. In attempting to find a repair shop that could diagnose our vehicle, I read the reviews for Wayne’s and went with them. After the first day it was diagnosed as a water pump and cracked intake manifold we gave the go ahead to have the repairs made, $1500. By the end of the next day were told it would also be a radiator. Total came to $2100.00. We were sick to our stomach’s spending this much money on a vehicle that really isn’t worth putting that into however we were stranded 300 miles from home with our three children and didn’t have much of a choice. When we picked the vehicle up on Wednesday, we drove to a gas station about 2 miles away as we were about to make the long trip home. We immediately noticed that not only was the vehicle shaking while idling, there was very little power when accelerating AND antifreeze was now leaking from beside the tail pipe! We drove back to the shop to ask Chris about the apparent leak and Other issues and were told that it wasn’t a leak but actually excess liquid designed to “drain” from the vehicle in that spot and that the other issues were due to needing plugs and wires. The vehicle was not shaking as I described when we originally dropped it off but OK. We were super frustrated and way less than impressed at this point however we had been stranded for three days and we were ready to believe what we were told and get home. When we got home to Atlanta we noticed that the ENTIRE reservoir for antifreeze was completely empty as well as found a screwdriver left in our engine! Upon double checking the rear of the vehicle it was almost immediately obvious that there was a cracked heater coil allowing all of the coolant to drain as we drove home 200+ miles. Not a “drain” like we were told...a LEAK, like we tried to show him! We also found a piece of trash inside one of the coils that once removed the shaking issues went away! We have reached back out to the owner to express our concerns and never heard anything back from him, even provided him with pictures and were ignored. We paid top dollar for Wayne’s Automotive to diagnose and repair our vehicle, spent over $2000 with them in less than 3 days and are EXTREMELY displeased with the level of competency and service. We were out of town and in a serious jam, stranded with three children and this shop used it as an opportunity to take complete advantage of the situation. If I can save another family from being taken advantage of by sharing this, I will. There’s not much I can do at this point from another state and I feel like the shop knows that. If I could give less than one star I would.

Needed a quick turn around repair from striking an object on the highway. Visiting from out state, I also needed a recommendation. A friend who knows Aiken quickly and confidently recommended Wayne’s Automotive Center. The team at Wayne’s lived up to the strong recommendation and surpassed it. They repaired the damage and performed other needed services all in one day. Efficient, friendly, and fair. Wayne’s is the only place in Aiken you need to know for automotive service.

After our RV broke down on I-20 and we were stranded for 6 hours, it was nice to know that the folks that towed us in was up to the task to make the necessary repairs to get us back on the road quickly. The price was very reasonable and Billy, the tow truck driver, was very professional and meticulous about his work. Add to that, they allowed us to spend the night in our RV for the night on their property until the next morning. Thus, saving us from getting a motel room. It’s never a good time to break down, but the kindness extended by the staff made a bad day a little bit better! My wife and I thank you all!

My wife and I were travelling to Florida with our grandchildren. Not being from the area we did not who to use when our car overheated. Someone pulled over asked if we needed help. Explained what happened and he recommended Waynes automotive and that it was just a few exits up. We had the car towed there and Chris assured me that as long as he had the parts it needed we would be on our way in no time. He called me and explained that the radiator split on the seam of it. Gave me a quote and that he would have it done in a few hours. he called me to pick it up and when we got there to pay it was less then what he originally quoted me. Anytime that I am coming straight there is I have any issues. great group of guys and very professional looking. Highly recommended

Chris was amazing. He is really woman friendly. By that I mean he explained everything to me and didn’t act like those other mechanics that try to confuse females into paying for more than what they need. If you need anything from them, ask for Chris! Very knowledgeable.

Crazy story.... I drive from Texas to Aiken. When I get to Aiken where I don’t know anyone, my car breaks down. And it’s 430pm. I called Wayne’s Automotive, not only were they willing to help me when no one else would at 430pm... the tow truck (very nice man) was there in 5 minutes!! Took car and us to the shop, even given the pandemic, there is no uber. They found the problem right away, drove us to where we were staying over, and had it fixed first thing in the am.Again, I don’t know anyone, Jeremy and Chris were super friendly, I had a million questions and they helped and referred me to all the best places in Aiken. Over the top kind, in a pandemic, and now I have friends in Aiken!

Owner no help to the little guy. Over priced and apparently inexperienced in pulling trucks out. Driver said he needed 2 trucks to do the job costing $3500 to $4000. Ended up having to pay $200 for them coming out or he was going to call the sheriff for nothing. Another company came out later and with one truck and did the job in an hour. Shame on you Waynes. The only good thing was Erica, she tried to help but was inundated with calls from driver and owner that she had to follow suit. Lookout Semi drivers.. Be Blessed cause God dont like ugly!

Locked my keys in the car when I got home from work. Filed a claim with insurance and within 8 minutes Michael from Waynes was at my house unlocking my car. Very pleased with how fast he got to me and unlocked the car. Thank you so much!!

Horrible Road Side Service. Currently sitting on I-20 for 3 hours!!!!!! Now one one is answering the phone. Fake ETAs were sent and STILL no one has shown up. VERY UNRELIABLE. 😡

Sent my car to their shop to do a diagnostic, found several problems told me the price to fix would be roughly 2000$. Ordered the parts myself for less than 250$ and took it to another mechanic who installed the parts for a much more economical price. Turns out Waynes also missed several other key problems with the vehicle. For the price I expected a better job.

We broke down in the middle of an ice rain storm on the I 20 on a Sunday afternoon in our Motorhome.They towed us to their yard and let us spend the night there until they could secure the serpentine belt on Monday! .They fixed it for us ASAP on Monday and we could continue our trip. Receive a quote for 750 for a tow less then 15 ft, checked around and received a tow for the same service for 250... not happy with Waynes. Many years ago I was in need of some repair work and was told for 850 they might fix it...

Called for a tow driver said it would be 21/2 hours which wound up being 4 was hot and thirsty from sitting in the heat for over 4 hours ask could I he stop so I could get a soda he said no not that he had to but after waiting for over 4 hours on the side of the road in the heat of july you think there would be some courtesy response time sucks and southern hospitaly for sure will beg my insurance agent not to call you guys again oh it was a local tow in aiken

Waynes completed an engine analysis on my vehicle for an insurance claim. They went to Columbia, SC, picked up my vehicle, returned it to their shop, did the analysis, kept me in the loop, and then released it back to the insurance company.They definitely made the whole process of a difficult time so much easier. I have had great service from Waynes Automotive. Victoria was very friendly and helpful and the first mechanic I had was Jeff and he was very nice and my car was repaired. I will be using them from now on to do the repairs to my cars. They made me feel like they really cared about getting my car repaired and they came and picked my car up and brought it back to me without me leaving work and I was able to just pay my bill over the phone. Highly recommend them.

Waynes Automotive charged me $170 for a diagnostic when all the car needed was a fresh battery. I should have tried jumping it before I called the tow truck, but I didnt. I gave them an opportunity to rip me off, and they took it.

Called to have my 39k excavator moved. Dispatch told me it would be less than $470, they get there loaded it and moved it to another job. I called to pay and another dispatcher answered and told me my bill was $750! Wont be doing business here anymore.

My wife was involved in an accident in I-20. Their response time was well within reason. However, things went south from there. After they loaded the vehicle onto the rollback, they sat there for another 45 minutes to “help” the other two man crew responding to the same wreck for another vehicle. Later, they dropped my vehicle to accept the other vehicle because the boom wrecker did t want to use the dollies. So,the boom truck ended up towing my vehicle instead of the flatbed. Mind you, the tow was only 6 miles away(could have been back in service in less than the time they were on scene). Finally, they leave the scene, as do I. I wanted to show them where to drop the vehicle, so I got ahead of them before exiting the interstate. (I told the dispatcher the address I wanted he vehicle taken to) I turned onto our road and the driver kept straight. I immediately called the dispatcher to find out what the problem was and where they were taking my vehicle. She stated she would contact the driver and she confirmed he was supposed to take it to the address I gave them. I waited an addition 30 minutes for them to return with my vehicle, all of the time delaying me from making my way to the hospital to be with my injured wife. They finally showed up and had the audacity to charge me an outrageous $85 for a 6 mile tow. Against my better judgement, I went with Wayne’s instead of Chancey’s because they were a little bit closer. The driver never gave me a receipt for the tow, I had to go to there office and waste another 30 minutes at their shop to get a receipt. Job, not well done.👎🏼

I started using Wayne’s Auto years ago because of a simple service call. I had run out of gas and via my insurance road service plan, the Wayne’s Auto service technician came to my aid. He was timely and courteous and because of his customer service, I decided to begin taking my vehicles to their shop. They have a courtesy shuttle service that can at least get you back home to get on with your day while your vehicle is being fixed or maintained. The towing service has a strong safety focus on the transport of your vehicle. Their shop service has consistently been dependable, even through some rough times of having a vehicle break down. Wayne’s Auto stands by their work and I know I can get my car taken care of the right way to get me back on the road. Thanks!

The ladies in the office are very nice. The shop tries to rip you off. They advertise a women friendly and how they dont try to get over on women. My experience was very different!!! My car needed a transmission, thats why I took it. They told me my brakes were completely rusted out and grooved. My husband and I changed them ourselves less than 2 mos earlier, so that was a complete lie. They gave me an enormous list of things supposedly wrong with the car, several of which were complete lies. So I went in for a 2k transmission job and they told me I needed 5600$ worth of work done. BIGTIME SCAMMERS

The driver was more than 3 hours late from the time I was told he would arrive. I called several times to receive updates from the office and they told me he would arrive within 45 minutes every time I called. This seems to be a common problem with these guys. I definitely DO NOT recommend them.
