This company really helped me out. My sewer backed up and flooded my basement late at night. They were the only company that wouldn’t charge me a fee just to come inspect the damage. When they say 24 hour service they mean it. The crew showed up and worked through the night. Walter Wendt was the project manager and he was the best. I live in a downtown high rise. I had a small job of bathroom remodeling and installing hard wood flooring throughout my apartment. There were several building requirements and rules in the types of product that we could install in our bathroom and flooring that had to be met. To make a long story short, Romexterra found the right product for me that was acceptable to the building and very professionally remodeled my bathroom and installed the hard wood flooring. It looks tremendous. My brother and I are very happy and proud of the work they did. They did a fantastic job. I had water in basement from a gutter issue. They came out same day i called and started clean up right away. When they couldn’t do part of the job, they connected me with professionals who could. In fact, on the final steps, we had complications. Charlie pulled on his network to get others to help solve the problem and kept at it until it was done. Great job making sure it was a complete fix and treated my home like it was his own.

We had a leak in our ceiling the day before hosting our wedding shower and Romexterra provided the service necessary for it to be a success. I initially spoke with Alex and he was at my house in 30 minutes to diagnose the problem. After that, his crew arrived and they did what they could with the time available. After the shower, the crew was able to locate the leak, seal it, patch the ceiling, and paint in a couple of days. I would highly recommend Romexterra to anyone having any sort of plumbing issues. I want to start off by saying that I hate doing one star reviews and knocking a company online. That being said, they really do deserve it.Back in February during the wonderful freeze, we had a frozen pipe burst. We called Romexterra and were told that they would be out within a couple hours. SEVEN hours later they show up- no calls from them to warn me theyd be late, I had to keep calling to find out if/when they would come. Seven hours of my stuff sitting soaking wet and standing water still streaming down through the floors into the basement playroom. They started the drying process later than initially thought. It was two days later that they put the fans in and told us they would leave them on for 3 days.... then 3 more days... then 5 more days. 2 weeks of fans blowing at $190/fan/day. Between the many fans and housing my family of 5 for that length of time, it was a fortune. They kept insisting they could get the wood floors and sub floors dry. While I believe that is true; at some point, the cost of just getting new flooring is less expensive than their fans running (to be fair, this is also the fault of the insurance adjuster who should have put a stop to this). The packing up our things was around $7400 more (that was after talking them down a little.) The explanation (for what seemed exorbitant to us) was they had to catalog and document everything. For the most part, our things were basically thrown into boxes, and even several of the things that were bubble wrapped were broken. They did replace the stemware that they broke and fixed my dining table that they broke the leg off of. Additionally, the cost of just bringing my things back from their warehouse was $3200. Our insurance refused to pay for them to put everything back where it was originally because they deemed it excessively expensive, especially since they said this was one of the most expensive clean ups they had ever had. Romexterra basically held our things ransom, refusing to bring us our stuff until they could reach an agreement with our insurance, which prevented us from moving back in. After an agreement was made, after several additional days of living in a hotel, they literally just piled all our things in their designated rooms- 3-4 boxes high! They brought the smallest things first! So, fitting the furniture in was quite a feat! It was more stress than was necessary, on top of an already very stressful situation. I am aware that I wasnt the easiest customer. But, I felt taken advantage of and was displaced from my home for two months while everything was being put back together. I dont feel like I was out of line when they were basically in control of all my familys things. Please do use another company.

Look, we aren’t usually the people that leave reviews. We’re either happy or quietly swallow our disappointment -- as most Midwesterners do.Let me tell you, though, Romexterra Construction Inc. inspired us to write this uncomfortably glowing review.We have been homeowners for three weeks. THREE WEEKS. After renting uneventfully for most of our lives, when we bought our first home as a family, we knew those events we weren’t responsible were ours to assume. We saved extra money to take them on …But three weeks into owning our home, the most rain to ever fall on our village in a 24 hour period fell in a 4 hour period. We had flood prevention measures, a drain plug for everything that could backflow, a deep well in the backyard … but the water level was too high. It came in through the garage, into the laundry room, through the crawl space, into the finished basement.Panic stricken, we called everyone we could find online, hoping Romexterra Construction would call us back within 48 hours. Not only did they call us back, they were in our home assessing within six hours. They laid out the plan (for a way better price than anyone else who followed) and enacted it same day.That’s what you hope for, but not always what you get. At this point I feel it important to should out Alex and George individually as they came to our house, exhausted from a clearly busy day at work at 9:30 p.m., rather than letting our house absorb moisture for that extra 12 hours they surely could have comfortably called it quits at. They stayed well past midnight pulling out drywall and installing fans and dehumidifiers. We didn’t feel great that we’d kept them so late, but as first time homeowners we were so thankful we stumbled into honest, reliable contractors for our first major event.Don’t hesitate. Call them. We promise you will be glad you did.

I had a faucet leak water onto hallway carpet, so it was not big job, but Marie at Romexterra was very professional and prompt, having someone (Ryan) arrive within one hour of my call, which was crucial to ensuring the carpet was not damaged from sitting soaked for too long. Even though it was a small job, they were responsive and charged accordingly. Ryan, the technician, was wonderfully professional, thoughtful, and thorough. They are family owned and operated and much better than the chains that do water and fire restorations.

Thank you Romexterra Restoration. These guys saved my butt Friday morning May 24. I woke up to my sump pump ejecting water into my basement. The PVC pipe had come loose from the pump. It was throwing it into the power supply. I decided not to go near it. Within 90 minutes Jose and Gio were out, fixed it, and made sure everything was working properly. These guys were courteous and nice and knew what the problem was immediately. Thank you for coming to my rescue. I was on my way out of town for my daughter wedding. These guys saved me a major headache.

Ive had many home repairs done and no one has been as great as Romexterra. They were quick to respond to my quote request and getting an estimate to me in the same day. The estimate was very reasonable. I called to schedule the work, thinking it would take a week to get them to come over, but they were available to come in just 3 days! Cris stopped over the day before to look at what materials he would need to purchase so when he and his team showed up the next morning they were ready to jump in. David, Manuel and Cris are the prefect trio. They work hard and seem to have fun with each other. The work they did to my water damaged ceiling was seamless. They had to remove a 8x8 chunk of the ceiling, replace a pipe that had a hole, clean out all of the mold infested insulation, replace everything, mud, sand, paint- and they did this all in 2 days. During the brutal cold snap at the end of January 2019, we had a pipe burst within a wall. After a quick, concise and very professional call with personal explaining my situation a technician named Gio arrived promptly and attended to the leak; as well as, the drying and restoration of the walls and floors. My family had a fire in our house on St Patrick’s day 2020 when my sons laptop battery exploded, the house was uninhabitable and needed to be gutted, plus half of the roof was destroyed, we were warned about so called ambulance chasers in the repair and restoration world and sure enough we were swarmed with offers to rebuild, but my wife and I rely on researching google and online reviews to find a reputable company to do the work, and I’m glad we did, most of the companies that stopped by with their condolences and business cards were found to have poor reviews for exactly our situation, they show up right away and get the job and end up doIng shoddy work. We had several companies look at the damage and Romexterra gave straightforward answers to our questions and we decided to go ahead with them and have the roof work done as well as gutting the inside of the house, Work started a few days later and they immediately began tearing apart the roof and within a few days the roof was completed, I was very impressed with the workmanship and Alex kept me up to date with before and after photos, we had roof work done about 5 years ago by another company and there were a few things I didn’t like after the job was completed and I could see the improvements that were made from romexterra, they added metal soffits and new gutters that look amazing. Unfortunately we did not have a lot of salvageable items left in the house but we did have some pictures and a few furniture items we thought we could keep if cleaned properly which is also a service offered from Romexterra, and they were able to restore my furniture and a few paintings we had. The inside of the house was a mess after the fire and they gutted it ripped up all of the old flooring and cleaned and sanitized everything back down to the studs so it’s now a blank canvass to start from and best of all they found my sons high school class ring that was buried in the debris of his room where the fire had started. I’m very happy with the workmanship and professionalism of Romexterra from start to finish I was constantly updated and any questions or concerns were answered very quickly. Having a home destroyed by a fire is a horrible thing to go through but what comes next can be even worse, there are lots of eager companies willing to step in and take your money when your dealing with a lot, I recommend Romexterra and also doing your research and not falling for one of the many scam outfits out there, Thank you Romexterra

All I have to say is Thank You so much to Romexterra. The claim process could have been a nightmare. They dealt directly with the insurance company and were there for us every step of the way to explained what was going on. They helped with relocation and payment from my insurance company and also made recommendations on products, which was super helpful. They took their time with us, especially when I got a little crazy with the questions, and were very flexible when we needed to meet. I was able to do walk throughs at my house while works was being done and all of the workers were very nice and polite. If there was something that I didnt like, it got fixed. The end product of all the work that was completed went beyond what was expected. Working with Romexterra has been a pleasure. We are very grateful for all of their help. I will highly recommend them to anyone who is has to file a water claim.

I sold my house and the buyers home inspector found significant hail damage on my roof. I called Romeexterra based on Yelp reviews I read. Charlie came out right away and contacted my insurance adjuster for me, met the adjuster at my house, worked with him to get the whole roof replaced with me only having to pay my deductible. He worked hard to get this huge job done in spite of many weather necessitated delays. His crew was excellent, did a thorough job of cleaning up, and it is finished a month before I close on this house. I couldnt have had a better experience handling a very stressful situation. Romexterra came out super fast when our basement flooded during the polar vortex of 2019 (NEGATIVE 60º wind chill). Burst pipe on an uninsulated wall. Bad news. They came that day, brought massive fans, dehumidifiers, and we made a plan for removing the old flooring and our choices for reconstruction. After the normal insurance shenanigans, they came in a timely manner and completed all the work professionally and with kindness.The only flaw I noticed in their service was they didnt patch up all the little holes from their moisture detector probe. There are still some holes all these months later, but they are small. I had to call them back 1 time after initial job was done to patch some more substantial (and more noticeable) holes towards the floor, but they seemed to miss them up by head level.All in all, a good find for a quick Google search and called them in the midst of chaos of water spraying everywhere.

What can I say about these guys. Such a professional, honest, and hard working crew. They restored our family room and crawl space after it flooded when our sump pump failed. They were really responsive, respectful, and most of all really consultative since we are new homeowners. I will definitely be calling them with any future needs I have. Hopefully next time it is on my terms, and not mother natures!

My pipe froze and burst and water was pouring in and I didnt know how to turn it off.I called several plumbers and no one could come out. I luckily called Romexterra and they came within minutes and turned the water off and from then on I had them do the restoration, rebuild and remodel.They did such an AWESOME job that I enthusiastically recommend their services!!!

Romexterra is a water and fire restoration company. I used them to remodel my basement a year and a half ago and was extremely satisfied with their work (I already wrote a very positive review about that project and wont describe it here). So when I recently had a backup problem with my sewer pipeline (on a Sunday night a week ago), I immediately thought of calling them. And I was so happy I did. Their service was truly remarkable! A member of their emergency crew was at my home within a half hour of my call to investigate what happened. Two others arrived shortly after. They thought there was a pipe rupture and thats what it turned out to be. They had to dig a 6-7 foot ditch at the side of the house and replace the pipe. They then checked the remainder of the pipe with a camera to make sure there was no other ruptures or blockages, and sanitized the floors. The whole thing was repaired with 4 days and they cleaned up the area so you would never know they were there. They filed the insurance claim for me, met with the adjuster and took care of everything. I am truly grateful for the stress-free way in which they handled everything. Alex and his father Nick Duta are amazing to work with - honest, trustworthy, fair-priced and genuinely nice people - and they do great work!. I recommend them to everyone with the very highest level of enthusiasm and without any reservation.

Romexterra did two jobs for us. The workmanship on both jobs was great and Im very pleased with their work. However, they need improvement in their administration, scheduling and communication. It is the only reason why Im deducting a star. Otherwise, I would use them again.For the 1st Job (Basement), they laid down the floating floor in the basement, installed drywall and insulation on the lower 3 feet or so (we had standing water which included removing the lower sections of the wall), painted the walls and installed molding. The crew worked efficiently during the week and we are very pleased with the results. During this project, I was working with the Project Manager (PM) to obtain a quote for the stairs leading to the basement to have the same matching floor. The PM did ask the crew to remove the carpet from the stairs leading to the basement but this step was missed. I wasnt upset about it since they would be back to work on the stairs once the material was received.For the 2nd Job (Stairs to the basement), Romexterra called me to schedule a date to begin the work as the material was in and said it should only take 1 day. On the first day (day 1), the crew arrived much later than originally planned and they said they werent expecting to need a saw and didnt have the equipment. Therefore they couldnt begin but they wanted to drop off the material and start the next day. Unfortunately, that wasnt going to work out as I had to be at work the next day. I called Romexterra and requested to reschedule to the following week. The crew was then scheduled for the following Monday (day 2). The crew began tearing out the carpet on the stairs to begin work. Shortly after the PM arrived on site and talked with the crew. He then came to me and explained that the treads are warped and needed to be replaced otherwise the tread covers would not be flush to the thread covers. This could have been discovered at the end of Job 1 when the PM asked to remove the carpet. I accepted the change, they began working but the delay caused work to push to another day for a total of 3 days. That is something to be aware and should be communicated to a customer (mention you expect 1 day of work but it could take 3 if delays are presented).After the jobs were complete, I didnt follow up in February to insure I was invoiced (shame on me). I received the final invoice 6 months later and at that time they were expecting payment immediately. I emailed Romexterra that I needed until the end of the month for payday (I had moved money around and was a little tight that month) and they were not flexible. If I had received the invoice shortly after the work was complete, I could have paid it immediately (the timing of the invoice and not being flexible is what I was upset about).Again, I want to reiterate. The workmanship was great! I really love their work. My constructive criticism is that they need improvement administratively (invoicing & scheduling) and better communication both with the customer and the crews.

We were one of many people that had a sump pump failure when the major rains hit the Naperville area. I called Romexterra and they had their crew here in no time with a new sump pump. They started immediately on the mitigation process and had the carpet and baseboards taken out and the basement drying with industrial fans and dehumidifiers. They saved us of having a much more expensive repair by their prompt response. Ryan, Gio, Jose, Angel, Omar, Huriel and Dan were so professional and some of the hardest workers I have ever met. Marie was the first person I talked to and the last, after MANY conversations in between. She eased my worries and made sure I knew every step that was being taken and why. She was absolutely amazing and the gem of Romexterra. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
