Samstone Auto Repair is excellent - highly recommend. Im not one to write reviews, but it is worth spreading the word. Go here. I have had some pretty terrible experiences at Honda dealership service department, so I decided to try Samstone Auto Repair. First experience was awesome. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, personable staff specially store manager Mike. They got me in for an appointment very quickly, diagnosed/communicated the issue quickly, and got it resolved for a lower price than what I would have expected. Have been back twice now and both experiences were phenomenal.

Such sweet and nice technicians! I would absolutely go back for any other problems in the future. I’m not an expert when it comes to cars and I barely know anything. Unlike other mechanics they did not laugh at me and they were so nice when answering my questions. They fixed my car with no charge.Thank you!

No joke, within about 10 minutes they diagnosed the issue and fixed it for me. It was immediately clear that I had wasted lots of time trying to work with the other shop. I go here regularly for oil changes and I’ve been very pleased with their prompt, professional service. But this last time they really went above and beyond. When changing the oil they noticed that my serpentine belt had shredded in half longways and was not going to last much longer. The shredded part was sitting at the bottom of the engine compartment. If they had not noticed this and fixed it (for a very reasonable price!) I could’ve been stranded. Thank you so much!

I thought long and hard about making this review but I feel like I need to share my experience. I dropped my car to be serviced on a Sunday. I was told it was going to take 3 hours and they would call me they were finish. I waiting and waiting. I finally decided to call after I didnt hear from them. They closed at 3p. No phone call. They had my car over night and left me without transportation. I call on Monday morning as soon as they opened, and I still couldnt get my car because the guy that I worked with wasnt there yet and intake wasnt done properly so they dont know how much I owe or if the work was finished.... He arrives about 9:30a I suppose and I was finally able to get my car. Just soooo unprofessional..... not worth it. go somewhere else. Yes, I was provided a discount...far from heft. I was quoted $375 and in the end with taxes and fees I paid like $350....but nice try.

Roger was extremely professional, nice & courteous. Mike was prompt with the service & had the Cable for my Interior Door Handle available today just as he said he would & I was able to have my Interior Door Handle fixed within just a couple of hours. Ill definitely be coming back for any of my other Car needs.

Had a flat tire at work that is 2 minutes from my job and I drove to their shop. Guy fixed my tire which needed a plug and when I was getting out he said no charge. It took less than a minute. You really can stop looking anywhere else at this point, but if you’re one of those people who like to have the details, I’ll fill you in. I had been in a car accident in my family’s primary vehicle on a Saturday, and I found myself having an issue with my other vehicle’s window on Sunday. It was stuck in a down position and would not roll up, and this was my only means of transportation. If you’ve never been forced to seek an auto shop that is open on Sunday, consider yourself quite lucky! After almost an hour searching elsewhere, I reached Samstone and spoke to Mike. He was the only shop that was both open and willing to take a look at our issue on a Sunday afternoon. That alone would be enough to show their care for resolving customers’ problems.I’ve always wished I were one of those people who has a guy for this, and has a guy for that. I never had a guy for auto issues in the past, probably due to always feeling like I was taken advantage of and being overcharged for services. From now on, Mike is my guy.I brought the car in Sunday evening to have it looked at and it was determined that a part had to be ordered to finish the repair. They got it ordered on what seemed like very short notice and had me come back first thing in the morning. I was quoted what I thought was a very fair price and it was significantly less than what I was initially estimating.We came back in the morning, and I was watching my 6 year old niece at the time. Anyone who has children knows that it is not easy keeping those attention spans in check. However, I found it easy in the comfortable waiting area at Samstone. They had a television that was playing her favorite show, as well as complimentary water, sodas, and mints that she really loved. In fact, on Sunday night she said she was looking forward to going back in the morning to have some more orange soda! It may sound small, but the little things like that show Mike and the team’s focus on the customer and the desire to provide a comfortable experience for what is often a stressful situation.The repairs ended up being more complicated than expected, due to the model and year of my vehicle. Rivets had to be drilled out to access the window’s regulator, so things took a bit longer than expected at first. I can understand that, and I put that mostly on the design of the vehicle. I was beginning to worry that the extra time would cause my bill to increase due to the extra labor required. After all, that would be in line with my previous experience at auto shops.Mike was unbelievably gracious in that he stuck to the original quoted amount, clearly explained the situation, apologized for the delays because of this, and actually gave me a bit of a discount for the unexpected wait time. I was stunned! Never before had I come across an auto shop that was so focused on doing the right thing and not taking advantage of their customers. It would have been easy too; everyone has heard stories from someone or another of getting unnecessary and expensive work and charges added to a repair bill. I was fully prepared to be out hundreds of extra dollars, but the quality and value I received from Samstone will be something I never forget. On top of all of this, Mike even took the time to look at phots of the damage to our other vehicle and made recommendations for repairs or getting a new vehicle.Every interaction I had through this ordeal has convinced me that I now have the right guy for all my auto needs. Mike and the team’s attention to us and other customers, and recognition of the predicament we were in due to the accident, shows quite clearly how much these guys strive to take care of their customers and build lasting relationships. I’m also not someone that writes many reviews, but I was compelled to after the overwhelmingly positive experience I had at Samstone. Mike is now my guy, and he should be yours too!

Great shop and awesome service !! The past 3 years I’ve been having an electrical problem with my car causing me to no pass the inspection . Took the car to numerous shops including two different dealer ships and no one could figure out the issue . Finally the electrician guy at Samstone figured it out and fixed my car . Ive gone to Sandstone auto repair twice. Once I rolled in with a flat tire off of Beltline and they put air in it for me, tested it, pulled a piece of glass out, and sent me on my way, no charge! The second time I had a mirror repair done - they are so professional, skilled, and timely.

Wow, great service! I had a flat tire a few blocks from the shop and they came to help me get the donut on so I could drive to the shop for no additional charge even after I offered to pay. They were prompt, nice, and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!

TLDR; very poor attitude, and no masks. Fast service though.I was a bit disappointed with my experience here; Ill explain why I gave two stars though. First and foremost, I had made a mistake. There are small signs to stop before pulling into the garage, and I didnt obey that stop sign. I had a lot on my mind at the moment, and the sign just for some reason didnt catch my eye. As soon as I pulled in about halfway (note there was no car in front of or behind me), a mechanic immediately yelled Stop repeatedly. I did, and I put my hands up saying I was sorry over and over. He told me to go back and the entire time he just had this face on him like I had hit something; I was nervous I did. As I backed up and put the car in park, he pointed to the sign repeatedly and said Can you read? I then rolled down my window and again apologized, and he just gave me this look like I was such an inconvenience; its an accident man. I immediately asked him did I hit anything and he said no. After taking a breath, he then proceeds to say, What do you want. I looked at him and said, Im just here for a state inspection. in which he responded insurance papers. Like dude, I get it, maybe youre having a bad day, but chill.I then walk into the waiting room to see a guy there who has no mask on. Neither of the mechanics that serviced me wore a mask the entire time, which for me as someone who is high risk, upset me a bit. Even if you dont want to follow the mandates, at least have some common courtesy during the pandemic.The inspection went fast, which was fine. But the poor attitude and the lack of wearing masks during a pandemic would not really make me feel the comfort of coming back here again.

These guys came to the rescue on a Sunday when my dad drive all the way in from Mississippi in a giant lifted F-250 and the moment he pulled into my place the valve stem started leaking. It was close to closing time and they stayed late to fix it, while being super nice and accommodating the entire time. Couldnt have asked for better service.

Seemed like a honest place, so I took the chance and I was right! They are fast, will work with you and most important are honest and won’t rip you off like a lot of mechanics. They had my a/c blowing cold in an hour and that’s because there were other issues or it would of been quicker. $99 in and out.

Went to Samstone after my front bumper came off. They’re one of the only car repair shops in Addison open on Sundays. Not only did they make sure my bumper was good to go (I had a friend put it on the best they could so I could drive it to the shop), they didn’t charge me! Really nice people, super fast, too. Thank you!

This may be the worst brake service I have ever received from an auto shop. I went here during the week to get my inspection completed. I needed the brake pads and rotors replaced to pass the inspection, so I had them do it. It was about $450 for the back rotors and brake pads and only the front pads. I waited about 1.5-2 hours, but it was completed. About a week or two later my front breaks started squeaking very loud. I took my car back to them and they said the front rotors needed to be replaced. I dont know why they werent replaced originally. Luckily, he covered some of the service, but I had to pay more than getting it all done together. I have now been driving for about 6-8 months and every time I reverse the brakes squeak now. I just cant comprehend how this is happening. I hope its just rust. I would never use this auto repair shop ever again.

DO NOT GIVE THIS AUTO REPAIR company your business!!! After purchasing brand new tires for my vehicle, I took it to Samstone for a full alignment. They agreed to do the alignment and stated that they did not have the proper equipment at their facility, but they were partners with another mechanic in Plano that they would take it to. Fast forward 3 months later and I am 1,200 miles from home and my low tire light repeatedly comes on. Long story short, they never did my alignment and if they did, it was not done correctly, the inside of both back tires were found to be completely shredded. We are lucky that we did not have two blow outs driving 85mph on our way to our vacation destination 1,200mile away!!! I went by their shop and was assured by the Mgr. Mike that they would make things right. It has now been 8 days, four phone calls and when I finally get him on the phone, his answer is “oh didn’t the Owner call you, we are only refunding you the cost of your alignment”. “We are not responsible for what happened to your tires”. Mind you I presented all the diagnostic paperwork from the reputable tire company that showed exactly what was wrong. I gave them every opportunity to make this right and was more than patient and they didn’t, so I will reach out to every single person I can to ensure that you know what type of business this actually is.

Mike gave me a quote for suspension work on my escape few weeks ago and he told me that I will come back after shopping around. Well I did come back and very happy with the work and cost. Thanks!!

It runs like new, also took my wife’s car in on a Sunday morning for a check up and they had it safe and noticeably running better by noon. They took advantage from a Flat Tire, they charged me 148 dlls for a new tire, I googled that tire and it was 90 dlls plus taxes.

My car wouldnt pass state inspection and these guys went out of their way to help me understand what was wrong with my car, and what they were going to do to fix it. They even let me come out in the shop and see each problem they were explaining to me so I could feel 100% confident in the repairs being done to my car. Googled tire repair and recognized a red and yellow building that I drive by everyday. I pulled in and they fixed my flat and had me back on my way in maybe 10 minutes. Very much appreciated by a guy who is tired, hungry and just wants to get home from work.

Quick and easy state inspection (and one of the few places around open on Sundays). This was my first time doing the inspection at a mechanic without the workers trying to push additional (and often unnecessary) repairs on me. Was cruising along Belt Line Road and found these guys accidentally. Upon pulling in, I was immediately greeted by one of their employees and directed to the appropriate bay for an inspection. Dustin, the gentleman who greeted me was clearly a car guy, much like myself. His enthusiasm was absolutely the best part of stopping by. I interacted with three other employees, all of whom were also incredibly happy and enthusiastic.I was in and out in no time, and Dustin took the liberty to make sure I was aware of the other services Samstone provided (which impressed me being that Im in marketing and constantly trying to market my company to the public). I will definitely be back here in the future!

I went in for a basic oil change after reading all the good reviews. I was charged more than I planned on spending, but they handled my shock pretty well and explained everything very thoroughly and I think it was a good price for everything they did. They even put a little air freshener on my rear view mirror and vacuumed up some loose sprinkles. Cool, right? Coming here again, but definitely asking about the price before I hand over the keys.

Its a pretty nice place to take care of my car, the repair shop is very clean, professional and they take care of every point of my concerns to repair my car. The car spa is very good not only be cause they wash cars, is be cause they take care of every detail to make look good and clean every car they see. My mom went to this place and they said her power steering pump was out and also a major engine leak, said it wouldnt pass inspection. She went somewhere else and it past, she asked about the problems and the honest company told the truth that there was absolutely no problem. Stay away from this shop they size up people and take advantage. My mom is 70 years old seems to be who they like to target. Oh and my true rating is less then 1 star.

This place saved my day. Midas down the street lost my appointment and I was on a very tight schedule last Friday. My oil was way overdue to be changed, so my fiance sent me the name of this place after seeing it had good reviews. I called and they said they could get me in right away. I drove straight there and sure enough, they got my car in immediately. They then told me I needed new brake pads, which I kind of expected. I asked the price and the quote they gave me was more than fair. They replaced the front and back brakes and changed the oil all in under an hour. The people were friendly, the service was quick, and the prices were good. I cant think of anything else I would need in a car repair shop!

We have never been treated so kindly by any auto repair facility. We are new to Texas, we knew nobody in Dallas and we were six hours from home, 4:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday. I recently had to have my engine replaced in my 2006 Mazda. Joseph went out of his way to find me the best deal on a replacement engine and gave me a great price on labor as well. It took a while mostly due to heavy rain delaying delivery of parts, but they stuck to the price I was quoted and got the job done right. My car runs better than it ever has before. I highly recommend this shop for any job, no matter how big.

I moved from VA to the North Dallas area last year and started bringing my car here for regular oil changes. I was really impressed with how honest and down-to-Earth these guys are. Whenever I needed a repair they always gave me a great price (I did price -shop their quotes) and would think outside the box to help me find a solution that would fit within my budget too. If you dont have mechanic, give these guys a shot.

The guys up here took a look at my car. The diagnosis was not as I had hoped. However, I was not surprised because the car has been a financial burden since I bought it; one repair after the next. I told the guy not to touch it, Im trading the crap wagon in. He didnt charge me a cent for the estimate. I thought that was pretty good business...a rare commodity these days. No, they didnt move any mountains...but they were decent human beings. How refreshing. I will come back, for sure.
