This Appalachian Outfitters had the kayak my boy friend had been looking for almost a year or so. They had so many kayak selections and almost every kayak add ons possible. The limited availably of the cresent Kayak, made it irresistible to pass up. My wife and I went out looking for a Tandem Kayak. Tried several places and found either they were sold out or the quality wasn’t that good. We walked into Appalachian Outfitters and were immediately blown away. They have a lot of inventory and they are high quality. The customer service is outstanding. Extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. We purchased a Tandem Orca 13 and absolutely love it. My wife was by herself when she picked it up and the workers were excellent and loaded it on the vehicle for her. I highly recommend Appalachian Outfitters. Only buy from here if you know exactly what you want. Im all about supporting small businesses but with no return policy for the kayak you are better off going to a larger retailer. If you cant support returns, youre in the wrong business.

What a great store this is, also love driving past that huge place to visit this one far better.The owners and staff are great very knowledgeable too. Guns, camping or Kayak or anything else they have lots of knowledge to share. Prices are great too.They Even rent paddle boards and Kayaks in the summer time down at the lake !

Great store with a good selection. If you dont see the boat your interested in just ask. Sometimes they have them stocked at another location. Friendly and informative staff. They even have Crescents in stock!

Disappointed in the lack of customer service. I set up an appointment with Hayden 5 days ago for today at 11am to rent some kayaks so my fiance could figure out what type he liked best to buy. We arrived today to find out Hayden wasnt even there, the owner said he remembered something about the appointment but didnt write it down and doesnt have anyone to help us. What was supposed to be a fun afternoon turned into us wasting an hour in drive time as well as several hours out of our day that we could have scheduled/planned something else. I certainly wont be giving my business to someone that has such a lack of care/customer service for the people that keep their doors open.

Super fantastic experience renting kayaks at Lake Acworth! Easily picked up a parking pass at the shop and then headed down to the lake. Everyone was friendly, and we enjoyed our time there.

Go here for nicer kayaks than you find at most big box stores. They carry some higher end fishing kayaks, paddle boards, and paddling accessories. They also have a small selection of firearms. Ive been a couple times, and the staff was friendly and helpful

Very knowledgeable staff, full array of accessories, including dog life jackets. Good pricing, and a discount on accessories when purchased with a kayak. Very much worth a drive to get to. Kayaks are what they do.

My wife and I stopped by to look at kayaks Saturday. They had a good assortment of kayak models and brands. We were assisted by a young lady named Elizabeth. She was very knowledgeable about kayaks and is a white water paddler. She was very helpful, had a great customer service attitude and very patiently answered our many questions about the kayaks. We had a very good experience and highly recommend their shop!

Ive been shopping for a kayak for about 9 months and Bill has been very patient answering questions and giving me recommendations based on my needs. He has a better selection of the higher quality kayaks than his local competition (He has some big-time competitors in the area). After pulling the trigger on my new kayak, I was interested in several accessories and Bill suggested that I wait until I had a little time on the water before picking out these add-ons. I definitely recommend Appalachian Outfitters in Acworth as the place to go for a kayak. His prices were as good or better than what I found on the internet. (I bought the NuCanoe F10 and love it!)

Stopped in today to check out some kayaks. And was very surprised of how nice the store was. They have a ton of outdoor gear, guns, you name it they got it. They had the kayak I stopped in to look at and the gentleman was very informative and steered me in a different direction said Id be better off with a different model and Im glad I listened. Very happy with my purchase from Appalachian Outfitters and they have a customer for life. Do yourself a favor and stop in and check out this hidden gem of Acworth. Enjoy!

Rented 3 tandem kayaks from them for 4 hours for some kayaking on the lake. They dropped off and picked up the kayaks right on the lake for us, and included access to the park/lake area with the rental. Owner, Bill, was friendly. We had an awesome time kayaking and would recommend them.

Went in looking for kayak carriers and got two for the price of one that most retailers charge. Same quality. Very nice. Great experience. Will probably buy a kayak from this place soon!

Price is great. But kayaks and equipment was rundown seat broke and no foot pedals. Went back a week later and equipment still broke. Young man that assist works slowly and not very organized

I dont know who the young girl was at the register but she was wonderful! Answered all questions from kayaks to guns! Great customer service!

I will never do business with this store ever! I regret purchasing my 2 Vibe Sea Ghost 130s from here. Bill is a liar so dont waste your time like I did and drive 2 1/2 hours away only to be lied to after they have already taken my money. If your gonna buy a Vibe Kayak just drive a few more minutes to the Vibe headquarters in Kennesaw, GA and you will save a lot of frustration, plus the Vibe coolers are a lot cheaper there and the customer service is so much better!

Very disorganized. Ive called twice after seeing paddleboarders on Acworth Lake and I wanted to rent from them. Links online do not work correctly to reserve them, so I called but no one answered. I left a voicemail, but no one returned my call. I called back and the gentlemen said he knew the links were incorrect, so I should go to the store instead to reserve them the morning of - even though I dont live in the area and wanted to go the lake to meet. I called again today and spoke to a younger man, who would not take a reservation over the phone, but instead said to call Friday if I wanted to rent on Saturday. What?! Why can they not take my name today? Whats the difference on Friday vs. Wed reservations? If your site does not work, then you should be able to use customer service and coordinate over the phone! So disappointing...guess I wont be paddleboarding with them :(

Really nice people and some cool stuff.

Drove 3 hours, spent $2000.00 the guy cant even open the doors on time so we had to wait another half hour AFTER driving 3 hours! The owner told us for buying 2 kayaks he would throw in a free vibe cooler, but once we got down there went back on his word. If you are inclined to buy a kayak from this store bring some buddies to help you load them because you wont get help here!
