I found NGA online after my engine blew and left me stranded on the road. This happened after over a year of paying other mechanics in my area and a well established auto repair shop in a nearby county charged me thousands of dollars to do the same repairs over and over again. Almost every week they were fixing something in my vehicle. My engine was just repaired in March by them and by July it flatlined with us on the road. I got tired of what I felt was gender scamming and called NGA. I was concerned about how far they were from me, but when I read the reviews and their services listed I decided to give them a call.Shawn and his staff were very understanding, helpful, and empathizing. He assisted me with securing financing and also gave me a loaner vehicle to get me around my daily activities. He also sent a tow truck to get my vehicle that was approxiamtely 52 miles away.He fixed my engine and front end and explained to me all the do(s) and dont(s) regarding the issues with my truck, and how to avoid these expensive repairs. My ride is now quiet and smooth. It is sad that I have to drive 52 miles to get a honest job done, but it was worth every mile. I wish I had found them sooner because all that money I previously wasted could have split this bill, I now have for some real work done, in half. Thanks to Shawn and his team, I am now riding with confidence instead of fear.

I have never made a review online let alone a negative one until now. The reason i am doing it now is because im looking for a shop to replace the engine in my lifted truck for the second time and i keep seeing this shop pop up and they did it the first time. I was loured in by the low price and free towing but you get what you pay for. I was pretty confident in the shop after speaking to shawn the first time. When he told me he could install a used motor with only 60000 miles on it and guranteed a warranty of a certain amount of miles or time. Once they finished i went to shop to pay and asked for some documentation on the motors miles so when i sold the truck i could prove it was low miles but he wasnt able to provide any documentation at all and once i paid he then told me that he cant stand behind the warranty because its lifted which i can understand the extra stress itputs on the engine but you dont take someones money then tell them that. you tell them that before you do the work and take their money. Which was super shady in my opinion. There was no going back at that point though so i got in mytruck they just repaired to leave and crunk it up and the belt was squeking so loud and they lubed it up to stop it from squeking. I drove home and noticed an oil leak so i had to take it back to their shop to fix it. All was good after that until my motor slung a rod prematurely not long after and shawn. Told me he couldnt do anything about it.. That engine replacement cost me over 5000 dollars and im right back where started.

I had an engine put in my Cherokee xj here, they did a great job. He even pointed out a couple things that needed to be done but didnt try to sneak them in to the repair and charge more. Some people may call them brash or rude, I call them honest. After I got it back a the check engine light came on and even after I lost my temper he called me back and walked me through what to do. By the way it was in no part their fault and with the help he gave me I was able to track down the culprit and fix it easy. I would recommend this shop over any Ive dealt with in the past. I could not have found a better shop to service my 2004 Honda Civic. My car sat for a year until a friend suggested I call North Georgia Auto. They picked up my vehicle from my home and replaced my engine and clutch in November 2018. My Civix has run really well every since. I would recommend this company for engine replacements. I have had my 06 S40 back for a little more than two weeks, and she is running good. The customer service was great, the responsiveness to phone calls was great, and the people are friendly. My experience with this company and the owner was a positive one. From the moment I called to have my car towed, until the work was completed- I received great customer service. The office staff, the owner, the tow truck driver, or anyone I came in contact regarding my car-treated me kindly. I have experienced a lot of issues with my car- from the engine, to the radiator-all sorts of stuff, but the owner was always upfront, honest, and told me like it was- cant hardly find that type of personality (especially in the car repair industry). All I needed was a phone call to rate 5 stars for the customer service. one of the most pleasant phone calls ever! at first I was like how long do I have to hold for for a salvage yard... BUT then Jenny answered the phone and was extremely polite and helpful! although they didnt have the car I was looking for, she suggested using car-part, a website that locates parts at all surrounding yards. worth that short wait!

I just picked up my car from Shawn. He did a great job and the price was incredible. Its hard to find a trustworthy mechanic, especially those of us that know nothing about cars, and I really felt taken care of. My car wouldnt start so we didnt know exactly what was wrong with it, so Shawn and Bill from another location spent many hours diagnosing my issues and they kept me posted throughout the process. Wasted $4000 + on a trash engine.I had an engine replaced on a Ford Explorer. They offered a 6 month warranty. The engine lasted about 5 months and 2 weeks. I called to let them know the engine had failed before the 6 months. The owner told me it was past the 6 months mark. They counted from the time I dropped off the vehicle rather than when they repaired the vehicle. The owner is very shady. I do not recommend this place. Youve been warned.

This is definitely a good repair shop to go to. They have helped me out with so many things, especially with saving money. Their work is honest, the prices are good and they have real warranties!To update, its been about 2 years since I had my engine and transmission rebuilt in my truck and not one day of trouble. When I needed my a/c system replaced, they were about $400 cheaper than anyone else.

I was pleased with the work that Sean did to fix my blown head gasket and the way he helped me with financing. However, I didnt understand why he didnt noticed that the car was leaking oil since he was repairing the engine anyway?

Hey this place is great I had my engine replaced with a new 5.4 Ford F 150 motor. i checked with many different shops no one even knew about the cam problem they replaced it with one that bypassed the cam phaser and its great I have more power and no more cam problem thanks to North Georgia auto

Ive been around automotive industry for over twenty years, seen some crooks and some great mechanics. Transmission went out on my 99 Ford F-150, calling around for prices North GA Automotive beat best price by Over $1K and threw in a tow and loaner car. Truck was fixed on time and at price quoted. Its been over 6 months and 10k miles no problems at all. I will recommend North GA Automotive to all my family and friends. Im sitting in their waiting room now expecting quote for leaking freeze plugs that another garage quoted $1500 to replace, Owner just came out and said I was fixed and ready to go....what?, turns out it was a hose clamp leaking and his time and a clamp to make repair is NO CHARGE. I spoke earlier of crooks, well that was a garage in cartersville that wanted $1500 to change freeze plugs that are not bad...Give North GA Automotive a shot at your next repair, youll save and be glad you did.

I accompanied my brother to this shop to pick up his car. From the moment we walked in the manager? Owner? had a horrible attitude, stuck his finger in my brothers face and then proceeded to punch him! With my son and other customers in the waiting room. I was terrified. We called 911 and they were more than familiar with him and his shop. Later that day the job was finally fisnished, when we went back to pick up the car he sent his machanic out there to try and be aggressive and intimidating. It was a horrible experience for my family. Dont be lured in by the low cost because you get what you pay for.....Now Ill wait for him to call me a loser like he did other customers that didnt have good experiences

I just had Sean and his crew replace the engine in my 2005 Nissan Altima. I have worked in the industry for over 10 years. Sean is very honest and up front about everything. A loaner car, and towing all the way from Conyers, were included in the price which made the price even better. The engine he installed looks like a brand new crate engine. It runs smooth and quiet, like new with plenty of power. When he discovered during the engine swap my exhaust manifold catalytic converter was almost completely clogged, he replaced the catalytic converter for his cost. No markup on the price of the part and no additional labor cost. Let me tell you, folks, this is unheard of in the automotive repair industry. Sean is a stand up guy who does an excellent job for a great price in record time. My car was ready less than 48 hours after Sean had first opened the hood. I know he cant always do it that quick, but I was seriously impressed with that. If you are reading these reviews and looking for a reputable shop, just look how many 5 star reviews he has versus the 1 stars. When you read Seans responses, its clear the unhappy people refused to listen to his advice and made their problems much worse because of their stubborn refusal to listen. I also used Sean in 2013 to replace the transmission in my sons 2007 Honda Civic. I had a great experience then, as well. The best auto repair experience I have ever had!My 2004 Mitsubishi Galant died of engine failure at 225K and I decided to replace the engine as opposed to buying a new car.Sean and the folks at North Georgia Automotive were able to replace my engine for me at a great price and was even nice enough to let me borrow a loner vehicle while my car was being repaired (loaner only offered on MAJOR repairs btw).Like most of us, I have had my share of negative experiences with shady mechanics and rip - off repair shops, and I assure you this is not one of them!Great service, and great work. my car now runs like new and I am extremely happy. the only mechanic I trust in the Atlanta area now.

This place is horrible. Don’t trust the manager Sean, he’s a con artist. He cheated me out of $2,500. He had to replace my engine twice! And the 2nd replacement engine still blew on me after only a week of getting it back from him. The 1st time he replaced it, the engine only lasted not even 24 hours. This place needs to be shutdown. The customer service is horrible. He cursed me out the 1st time I had to call him back about how the engine he literally just put in my car blew up on me. He don’t like you asking any questions that concerns you and your car or anything that questions his work. He has a bad habit of cutting you off when you try to speak and doesnt allow you to get your point across. I’m in the process of putting together a lawsuit against this company. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE. Sean (the manager) will scam you and rip you off!

I was looking for a new or used engine for a 2005 Cobalt and found these guys on Craigslist. I was worried at first because the price was much better then everyone else I had tried - plus, you never know who or what you are getting on Craigslist.After speaking with Sean for just 5 minutes I felt comfortable enough to agree that they should do the work on my vehicle.They replaced the engine within 2 weeks. Unfortunately, my contract position ended and I needed an extra 2 weeks to pay them.They worked with me on the payment as they did not harass me at all or make any threats (or any of those mafia techniques).I have had my car back for over a month now and, although the engine had 45K miles, runs better than ever!!! I have driven out of state and I drive nearly 100 miles roundtrip everyday to and from work.I would recommend this shop to anyone!Frank

My engine recently went out on my GMC Jimmy. I had done business with NG Auto before when buying used parts for vehicles. Shawn, the owner, was always very polite and courteous and is very knowledgeable about all kinds of makes and models. I knew that his main business was rebuilding engines and transmissions, so i gave Shawn a call. I was glad i did. Shawn sent a tow to pick up the vehicle from my driveway, and gave me a great price and warranty for the engine rebuild. On top of that, Shawn even provided a free loaner vehicle for me to drive, so i didnt have to pay for a rental car for a week or miss work. My vehicle runs better now than it ever has (ive owned it for 6 years), and would recommend this place to anyone!!

Ive got a starter problem (appears to be), starter checks out OK. When the key is turned to start, the motor turns over painfully, maybe 1/2 turn (maybe shorting out), and my f150 wont start.
